We've stayed here 4 or 5 timees now over the last few years, and we've always been satisfied. If you want somewhere that's out of the centre of town and handily placed for Kato Paphos, Coral Bay, Peyia and St George, this is a good location. It's not far to walk to the main bus route along te Tomb of the Kings Road, but perfect if you have a hire car. There are plenty of really good eateries nearby to enjoy after a hard day's sunbathing or exploring. Accommodation is basic but totally adequate and the staff are always helpful and friendly. The bar and pool are usually well-populated and useful facilities tto have

We had a spacious apartment on the ground floor, for a week, it was spotless. The maids came in regularly and even changed the sheets, mid week. All the staff were very helpful. The bar prices were more expensive than other venues, nearby that we visited. We booked via low cost holidays and for the flight, accommodation and transfers it was in the region of £450.00. between two of us. We also had lovely weather in the middle of November 2013. You need a cardigan in the evenings.

Upon first arrival to the hotel it seem rather nice for the money we spent! However we were put on the top floor , which was okay not too high, the receptionist didn't have the best customer service. Before we arrived they had taken a pre auth without authorisation from my friend off her card for the full amount of the stay, we had planned to pay cash so it was a huge inconvenience. The utensils they provided were poor, we had no oven tray for the oven to bake in, the pans didn't fit correctly on to the hobs and a few of the hobs had naked flames rather than gas controlled flames, as a result I burnt myself on a few times and I had to cook chips in a soup pot which made them turn out horrid!

On my birthday (purpose of the holiday) the receptionist from the first day made us a few cocktails, the cocktails she made were the worst I've ever tasted! Too strong and concocted in such a way they didn't blend and it was like drinking too many shots at once, but the strongest ones so it didn't compliment each other

To top the holiday off on day 4/6 our room hadn't been cleaned, no fresh towels and no loo roll. When we went down to the desk and asked the receptionist said "housekeeping don't work Fridays or Sundays so they will clean your room tomorrow" we accepted and left it. However, the next day (saturday) the room was still dirty, no fresh bedding or towels or loo roll again and overflowing bin!! So we went back down again, this time a different reception, seem to be a manager of some sort, told us that she had left a note for the housekeeper to clean our rooms the previous day and she had no time to clean our room herself as she was due to finish! However she would give us the towels, and loo roll right then if we wanted. We didn't as we we're going out. Reluctantly she told a she would sort our room but she couldn't clean it or change the bedding. This was disgraceful! To me hygiene is really important and more so in a foreign country! However, it seemed anything we required was too much!! The website said they supplied a hair dryer yet there was none in the room!

I wouldn't recommend this place at all!

We are really sorry if we have disappointed you in any way. If you took the time to read the Hotel’s Description and Hotel’s policies including the policies of the Tour Operator you had booked with, then you would have known that the hotel pre-authorizes the booking amount from the credit card provided 7 days prior to arrival, and on checking out you get the option either to continue and pay via the pre-authorization or have it cancelled and pay cash. It is always the customer’s decision.
Some customers praise our cocktails, some find them too strong. It is a matter of taste and opinion.
We clearly state in the description that rooms are cleaned 5 times a week and linen changed twice a week We do not mention that our room have hairdryers, however we do give hairdryers from reception and customers return them when they finish.

We stayed at the Hilltop Gardens for two weeks in October 2013. We arrived late at night, and after booking us in the receptionist showed us to our 2nd floor apartment, and she kindly helped us carry our luggage up the stairs too.

The apartment we had was quite spacious with a separate bedroom with a decent kitchen set up, which was useful for self catering. It had recently been refurbished and was very clean and nicely presented- we discovered dirty crockery in the kitchen cupboards, but that's more the fault of the unhygienic guests who had used the apartment before us, rather than the hotel itself. The pool and bar area were also very well presented, and with it being quite a small hotel it was free of noisy families, so it was peaceful and relaxing during the day.

The cleaner came in every day and was very efficient, and there were several bed linen and towel changes made during our stay. The reception staff were very helpful with any issues we had about the hotel or Paphos itself, and bar staff were friendly and welcoming too.

The hotel was a bit 'off the beaten track', which may not suit some people- it was probably about a 15 minute walk to the nearest bars and restaurants. On the other hand, it was away from the noise of the Tomb of the Kings road- which was very handy considering the road was in the process of being ripped up and refurbished during October 2013! There were bus stops just outside the Lidl supermarket on the main road, which took us to the harbour and Coral Bay, and the regular bus service ran from early morning til late at night.

The only complaint we would have about the Hilltop Gardens was regarding people who came back late, and then starting chatting loudly on their balcony into the small hours- so maybe the hotel could put a notice up in reception asking people to consider other guests when returning late.

But all in all, this hotel was a fantastic place to stay and represented great value, so we would highly recommend it.

Don't understand the negative comments on this little gem of a find. Our stay there was all positive. We used it as a base, but made full use of the facilities when the opportunity arose. Had a lovely appartment, staff were friendly and helpful. Our package was self catering, but we did have meals there on two occasions, which were good. Travelling in October meant we didn't need the air conditioning, which I could imagine would be pricey in the height of the summer. However, the cost represented good value to us and looking forward to our next trip as we shall definitely use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the newer rooms.

I stayed at Hilltop with a friend for 7 nights in September. We had a twin bed apartment on a room only deal. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and found it to be good value for money.

Our room was newly furnished, with shiny white floor tiles and cleanly painted walls. We had a twin bedroom, a lounge diner with a kitchenette, two sofas, a dining table and chairs, coffee table, TV and a furnished balcony. There was also a clean bathroom with a well-functioning shower-over-bath. My companion found the beds a bit hard but I didn't find them too problematic. The rooms were cleaned every day and the cleaner was very flexible about coming back later so I could sleep in!

The room wasn't luxurious, but it more than met our needs. I suspect if we wanted to cook every night we'd have found the kitchen a bit basic, but it was great for making breakfasts and snacks. You have to pay extra for air conditioning and the TV. We went without, as it was September and a bit cooler. However, I imagine in high summer air con would be essential. It would have been nice if a few basic cleaning materials like washing up liquid, washing up sponge and kitchen towel were provided.

Wi-fi was available in reception and I used this a few times without any problems. The staff were really helpful, providing us with tourist maps and directions, booking taxis and helping us arrange tickets for a coach tour. We didn't use the pool or bar, but these seemed clean and relaxed. On a couple of nights we were kept awake by other guests drinking and talking on their balconies until the small hours of the morning - a noise policy that is enforced the staff member that locks up reception for the night would have been appreciated. However, generally this is a really quiet spot and we enjoyed a lot of relaxed breakfasts and evenings sitting on the balcony.

The hotel is a bit out of town, but in a very convenient location. There are direct bus routes into Paphos harbour, Paphos old town and Coral Bay nearby. There is also a supermarket and a few pubs and tavernas within walking distance if you prefer to stay closer to the hotel.

Hilltop Gardens are not luxury apartments, but if you want clean and good quality basic accommodation then it's a good option.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the sea have the best view. Rooms that don't overlook a patio will probably be a b...
