Totally agree with the last review from bigdom8. We too were shown to our table by a right old misery. The other lady seemed nice but we didn't really see her much on our table. We opted for the 3 course dinner for 14 euro ( starter, main course sand dessert OR tea and nescafe!!!!!!!) as it seemed the other dishes were quite pricey and very eclectic. Started off well with myself having the pate and my GF having the salad. That was where the good food left us, suffice to say I agree with last review of it all being heat up ready meals. My fish was a boil in the bag finds/birds eye special and my GF had the beef burrito, more like a ready meal lasagne if you ask me.
Now I know food as I am a professional chef. This was no means freshly done and the " fresh veg" was clearly frozen and boiled to death. No flavour at all. Shame. Especially when there are so many places selling fresh food for you to buy and cook. Shame on the chef.
As for the rest of the eve. In my opinion it was like going back in time to a 80's cruise ship. Dancing around and singalong to the lounge singer. Not my bag but if that is what you like, go for the drinks, not for the food. The view is ok.
As for offering dessert or tea/nescafe(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) what is that all about. Get out of the 80's.

The only purely British style restaurant in Tala if you want a change from Cypriot food, What you get is well cooked and brought to the table by friendly British staff. The prices are average for the type of menu on offer, but not the place to go if you want Greek food.

Walking through the picturesque village of Tala, on our first holiday to Cyrpus, my wife was taken by the lovely outside seating area this restaurant appeared to have; overlooking the valley and ocean below. And that is the only positive thing I can say about this place.
From the initial frosty, rude waitress taking our order in between travelling back to her table in the corner to puff on a cigarette, the food was truly atrocious. The worst we have ever had in any restaurant.
We asked for a pizza for our young daughter and was told they were all out of plain cheese and tomato. So we settled for the Ham and Cheese the miserable waitress said they had. What was placed on the table looked like a half-frozen, half-burnt readymeal type pizza which looked like 90% dough, 10% cheese/tomato/ham [At best!]. Suffice to say, my daughter couldn't eat it.
My starter of greek salad constituted a few bits of lettuce, some tomato, and a couple of pieces of feta cheese. Where were the Onions, Olives, Cucumber? In my opinion, it lacked substance, a little TLC and the basic presentation one would expect in any restaurant.
For main, I ordered Fish & Chips thinking it was a safe bet. The fish was a miniscule piece amongst a huge amount of batter and, in my opinion, looked like a fish finger. It certainly smelled of fish. The chips were mainly cold and soaked through in oil. I couldn't eat it.
My wife and a family friend both ordered Lasagne. Again, they appeared to be frozen, reheated ready meals.
The bill for our meal was every but as much as any other restaurant but the service and food is certainly not worth it. My opinion; next time you find yourself in Tala, go anywhere else. All of the other restaurants we ate at in the village were superb and we felt that The Square simply preys on newcomers and tourists. Sad. Should have known; they had a blackboard advertising various desserts, tea or NESCAFE? For goodness' sake.
