Just Breathtaking. We hired a car and we did go up there by our selves. The trip was just amazing, and the monastery just breathtaking. Takes you back to time and you could feel it..

We visited this as part of a day out. It was a lovely drive up to here through the hills and we found a fantastic little restaurant on route. You can eat here, but it is a captive audience, so would recommend one of the villages you pass through instead.

You can't take any photos inside, but you can of the views around it. It really is a quick visit this one. There is a small gift shop and market stalls outside. They have their own wine here, so you can get a bottle of red, white or rose in a printed box which makes a nice gift.

You don't need to be religious to get a lift from churches and monasteries. This is quite small and there is not too much commercialism here. The cafe is welcome and the monk's red wine at 5 euros a bottle isn't bad either!

A beautiful monastery, but like many attractions people arriving by the bus load made this a crowded experience
