“Very nice Hotel”
Reviewed October 21, 2012 via mobile

I just joined the Hotel for a Conference I am attending. It's a very nice hotel. It started at the arrival. Here u get a personal secretary and a drink to accompany u while they fill in your passport details. They also make your room 2 times a day, and at the evening they add a nice flower on your pillow, do I like it a lot. However, I observed at the pool today that several kids was playing Waterpolo and having fun, and the staff denied them that, cause a ball was not allowed in the pool. A bit stupid if u ask me, cause the kids wherent bothering anyone. So maybe not do kid friendly

We returned to Annabelle for the third visit and found the staff and service as good as ever. Room however was 327 and disappointing as it faced a stone wall with no view at all. I booked a garden terrace room and expected more .There was a terrace but no garden. No dressing table or similar and the only table was minute so no where to put anything down. The only light in the room were the bedside lights so it was too dark at night to read, however Agatha did get us a standing lamp. She was most helpful
No outside light so very dark sitting outside

Room Tip: side sea view rooms are better.Dont go for garden terrace room

We returned to the Annabelle for a relaxing week in September and it was, as ever, perfect. The staff looked after our every need in a hotel whose facilities cannot be faulted. The food, as we ave come to expect was of the finewst quality. We will return.

Colin & Janie McGill, Scotland

Room Tip: If you can afford it, the sea view is well worth the extra.

Have just returned from a holkiday with 12 friends to celebrate a friends 50th birthday. My review is mixed to be honest.

What I will say that by and large the people here are amazing with special mentions to Eleni and Nikolev in the restaurant and Agatha on front desk. Apart from Agatha the front desk service was not good. When we arrived there was not recorded booking for me even though we all had accomodation vouchers from agents.

I have two main issues:

Firstly we booked a while ago and requested sea view rooms. LIttle did we or the agents the hotel uses presumably know that that is not the same as "sea facing". A "sea view" guarantees you a glimpse out of the corner of your eye while a "sea facing" room takes in the splendour of the resorts location on the sea. My room was mainly staring a building. V disappoinitng and misleading. I have worked in travel journalism for a while and have many contacts and this new categorisation of sea view vs sea facing is a new one on me and my contacts. The hotel needs to train its agent better to spell this out.

The second point to raise is the conduct of the restuarant manager Dimitrius. When we were asked for feedback on breakfast a friend who trained in hospitality in Switzerland and has been a senior manager at some of the best hotels in the world - answered honestlty and suggest a few amends the hotel should think about i.e. from slightly longer breakfast slots to variance of the buffet once in a while. She also mentioned the lovely Eleni as a star on the staff. After handing this in Dimitirus in high dugeon confronted her and became defensive at all comments made. At one point he said : "So you think Eleni is good, does that mean you think all the other stuff are dreadful?", He was basically rude and arrogant and it does beg the question that the hotel should not invite comment if it is not open to suggestions. Or at the very least Dimitrius should have no contact with the general public.

These were were too main areas of concern. I would like to comment you though on the majority of your staff being nothing short of sensational. But please sort ouf the sea facinf/view issue as we had a very disappointing room after being led to believe we were getting something else.

Many thanks

Room Tip: Ask the question about sea views vs sea facing

just came back of two beautiful and relax weeks at Annabelle and my review is also a response to those that write such a bad thinks for this hotel. I truly dont understand why they doing that. OK the hotel is not new and it is not fully refurbished but it is not advertised as newly build. The most important think in a hotel is the service and i know that quite well because i am working in a hotel reception. All the stuff are excellent, professional and friendly and they do what ever is human possible to make the staying of the guests with out problems.I would like to congratulate them and a special reference to Dimitrios and his team because nothing it is to much trouble them.

The staff and their willing, friendly attitude are what make the Annabelle special. (Special mention to Eric at the pool and Ortensia who seemed to be room service.) The welcome on arrival and check in makes you feel that you are in for a 5* experience, but sadly it is a little jaded. The pool tiles are chipped and missing and many sunbeds were in need of repair. The sunbeds by the sea are left out and have an amazing position opposite the sea on a private lawn but I was disappointed that no-one had mentioned all the steps when I asked about accessibility. The buffet evenings became a bit the same even with the attempts to change menu and breakfast became worse the busier they got, a new toaster should be brought out immediately one stops working! Weddings and christenings meant certain areas went out of use to other paying guests! Our room was lovely although taking a terrace so we would have sunbeds it is disappointing that you dont get two! however for me the worse thing of all was the inaccessible tropical pool, the very steep ladder was the only access and with an elderly clientele it seems a problem for many. Paphos itself is tacky and tatty so my advice would be stay in hotel or get right away. So how to rate it was really difficult as some things were excellent others not reaching the mark.

Room Tip: Spend the money to get a suite with big balcony and two sunbeds if you like privacy.

We stayed at The Annabelle in June 2012 and had a wonderful, relaxing 7 days. The hotel staff were friendly, especially Maqbool at the pool bar who was excellent and a pleasure to talk to. For the first time ever, we were given a room upgrade and were lucky enough to have a garden suite with its own private jacuzzi on the rear patio - total luxury!! The room was spacious, clean and modern inside and was right next to the lower pool area. One word of warning - to get the best sunbeds you have to put your towels out early - we stayed before peak season so putting them out on our way to breakfast at 8.30am was fine but I can imagine that when the hotel is full you would have to be up at the crack of dawn! We only had one meal in the hotel which was on the traditional Cypriot night - an outside buffett with live entertainment which was great. Overall we would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to have a relaxing getaway and would definitely consider going back ourselves.
