“Overall very good, would go back”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

Me and my partner stayed at the Laura Beach hotel in September 2012. I was a bit worried after reading mixed reviews but there really was nothing to worry about. The hotel was very clean and modern, staff were friendly and helpful. The food was of a really good quality, hot and fresh. It was repetitive but I expect that from an all inclusive buffet. The restaurant did have a dress code of no trousers for men but they were not strict on this, my partner wore shorts every night and no one said anything. On our first night we were put in a room without a balcony even though we had paid for one. We went to reception and it was sorted out straight away for us, they were very good about it. This was a common problem with most of the guests we heard from. Location of the hotel was good, just hop on a bus one way to Paphos or the other way to Coral Bay. I would definitely recommend Coral Bay, it's a beautiful place and there are some good watersports on offer at reasonable prices. There were a couple of negatives but nothing to put me off returning. First of all we had to pay for bottled water. I have never been to an all inclusive abroad where bottled water is not included. At the bar it was 2€ a bottle, but a pack of 12 bottles was only 5€. We ended up just buying the packs which was fine if you had a fridge but the first room we were in did not. Also there is an extra daily charge for the fridge and a safe. Again I believe these should have been included in the cost as it wasn't cheap! The air con was terrible all over the hotel, it may aswell have been turned off. This was not good as we visited during a heatwave! The swim up bar didn't open very early, shut for lunch and shut quite early in the afternoon, so it would have been better if it had been open all day to save going inside or down to the other pool.
All in all a very enjoyable holiday, great hotel and lovely weather. If it wasn't for the little negatives, it would have been a 5*
I would recommend the Laura Beach hotel to anyone, just take enough euros for the extras that you have to pay for!

We have recently returned from our 12th holiday at the Laura Beach. We met up with 2 couples who we have met up with for the last 4 years,we all had a very enjoyable holiday. All the staff are very friendly and always greet you with a smile nothing is too much trouble for them and any problems or requests you have are sorted out promptly. The food is very good and well cooked, the menu is varied and there is always a good choice of dishes. The animation team are very friendly towards everyone even if you do not join in the activities,in the evenings they have a very hard job as the entertainment area is not ideal(a more suitable area needs to be found) The cleaners keep the rooms and public areas spotlessly clean We liked most of the changes made since our last visit especially the terrace by Neros bar One small thing we do not like is that to get to the lower pool you have to walk through the breakfast dining room.We are sure this will be sorted out in the close season. The pools are cleaned every day and the water tested, also there are always plenty of sunbeds. We can not praise all the staff enough they really do help to make our holidays so enjoyable,we have already booked for next year can not come quick enough

Just got back from a weeks stay at the Laura Beach hotel and had a great time, travelled with my husband and after looking at the reviews we where not expecting much. Weather was red hot all of the time, Hotel spotlessly clean, rooms good but bathroom very small but room cleaned everyday, we had a balcony looking out of to the mountains which was fine, gorgeous sunset which can be seen at the back of the hotel pool/beach side which we used to have a drink at the hotel bar to watch it go down, it was amazing. pool was fab and cleaned everyday, Food was good always something you could find. The only downside is the amoount of Russians who are very ignorant, arrogant, and very greedy, don't believe in queuing go straight to the front of any que and seem to get away with it which staff should be telling them that there is a queue. they pile their plates up with anything and everything, but most of all each person seems to get a weeks worth of fruit at each sitting ( i am sure they must take it home in thier suitcase as it is impossible to eat that amount) if anybody could let me know what they do with it all i would be very greatfull). Staff are mostly very friendly and helpfull, The animation team are great and Chris at pool bar was great. All in all we had a great week and meet some lovely people. Would return to this hotel but would like to know when the Russians don't go.

i have just returned from a week at the laura beach with my husband. this is the 3rd time we have been there and enjoyed each visit. Our room was at the front, the only downsides were no balcony and a very noisy manhole cover on the main road!!! All of the staff we came into contact with were freindly and helpful.there was a good selection of food and drink all day long. my only complaint is the steps leading to the beach are dangerous, otherwise it is a lovely hotel to visit, hopefully i will return in the future.

Room Tip: ask for a sea view with balcony

It's hard to know where to begin.. I'll keep it brief .. Positives:- cleanliness is very good, pools great and cleaned daily, fantastic views from balcony, (however, we had to pay a premium for this prior to our arrival), some rooms have had the balconies replaced with large windows, so your room will be slightly bigger.. but that's about it. It's a shame the balconies have been removed from a considerable amount of rooms.. it's a huge mistake !!
Not so positives.. The first room we were allocated, was to be honest.. An insult.. Most things didn't work, terrible damp basement smell.. It was horrid, to say the least. We moved later to the room we had initially paid for.. Which was better.
It's not the hotels fault, however there is a huge amount of Russian holiday makers. Guests took food by the piles, which they were quite welcome to.. I'm only sorry to say.. The food is of very average standard, but it does depend on personal choice & expectation. Thankfully, even though we were half board, which included dinner... we decided only to use the restaurant 3 times for dinner.. During our whole stay.. We opted to eat elsewhere.
Take a deep, breath if you expect 4 star food etc.. It's simply not.
( Thankfully we met some good people, especially the Isle of Wight couple T&S.. You both kept us sane... Keep smiling as they say !!)

absolutely not a 4 stars hotel,
there was no fridge and the only minibar they had was not working properly.
the bed was ancient and noisy and so was the sofa..very bad mattress and pillows.
generally the hotel is overestimated and not value for money.
very spacious room but do not select a promo room if you like a sea-view. promo room means automatically mountain view regardless what you have paid.
definitely I would made other choice next time.

Sept 22-29 2012. All inclusive. 2 adults and 1 toddler!

Weather - amazing! around 30 degrees each day!

Hotel - fantastic, clean, big - spa, cinema room, games room, plenty of outdoor space, a gym, pools bars and restaurants! roof terrace is spacious and great for views and chilled out drinks. guests are a mix of brits, russians, polish and few german.

staff- brilliant, so helpful friendly and accomodating in every way! we celebrated my husbands birthday and they provided complimentry bubbly, cake and a birthday atmosphere! even a cocktail and certificate from the animation team! good enough english too.

room - try to request a sea view room, balcony was great, views and sunsets were amazing. queen bed. toilet not great, but least of your worries. it was all immaculate. plasma and air con.

spa - lovely, we went for a grapefruit scrub (really reccommend it for 20 euros) and the swedish massage. professional and enjoyable.

animation team - just brilliant. not pushy but there if you want to take part in zumba, french bowls, darts, volley ball, yoga, aquafit, evening entertainment, bingo or kids club.

food - breakfast, dinner, snack time and lunch had plenty of variety and fresh salads, breads, hot food, desserts and kids section. snack time is quite repetitive but tasty and fresh none the less. drinks were all great, cocktails available all day. nice Leon and Keo beers!

local cypriot food - we went to a restaurant 2 bus stops away from hotel called Verdas. amazing views across the sea on their terrace and meze was great and plentiful for 18 euro's pp. friendly staff and good service.

activities - the market was ok, very pricey for souvenier trashy type things! harbour was gorgeous, we took a speed boat for 30 euros for 30 mins. great fun. lunch at Steves Bar on harbour was brilliant, friendly eng speaking staff and tasty food.
we went on the ocean flyer 'half day heaven' cruise for 46 euros pp but was all inclusive of bar and food and was a great experience. Bex the host provided excellent entertainment! use the bus service for all trips, its excellent for only 3 euros for a day pass.
Coral bay beach is worth a visit, clean and safe, free shower facilities. loungers cost couple of euro's to hire but nice trip out with kids. all these are only 20-30 mins each direction from hotel.

overall, no complaints, apart from the fact that wifi is charged at 30 euros for the week and it only connects in the reception lobby area! not much to moan about when the week was just lovely! definitely reccommend Laura Beach hotel and would visit again.

Room Tip: there are some rooms that literally face out to the reception lobby (indoor windows!) or the front o...
