“Erm ... No !!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

It's hard to know where to begin.. I'll keep it brief .. Positives:- cleanliness is very good, pools great and cleaned daily, fantastic views from balcony, (however, we had to pay a premium for this prior to our arrival), some rooms have had the balconies replaced with large windows, so your room will be slightly bigger.. but that's about it. It's a shame the balconies have been removed from a considerable amount of rooms.. it's a huge mistake !!
Not so positives.. The first room we were allocated, was to be honest.. An insult.. Most things didn't work, terrible damp basement smell.. It was horrid, to say the least. We moved later to the room we had initially paid for.. Which was better.
It's not the hotels fault, however there is a huge amount of Russian holiday makers. Guests took food by the piles, which they were quite welcome to.. I'm only sorry to say.. The food is of very average standard, but it does depend on personal choice & expectation. Thankfully, even though we were half board, which included dinner... we decided only to use the restaurant 3 times for dinner.. During our whole stay.. We opted to eat elsewhere.
Take a deep, breath if you expect 4 star food etc.. It's simply not.
( Thankfully we met some good people, especially the Isle of Wight couple T&S.. You both kept us sane... Keep smiling as they say !!)

absolutely not a 4 stars hotel,
there was no fridge and the only minibar they had was not working properly.
the bed was ancient and noisy and so was the sofa..very bad mattress and pillows.
generally the hotel is overestimated and not value for money.
very spacious room but do not select a promo room if you like a sea-view. promo room means automatically mountain view regardless what you have paid.
definitely I would made other choice next time.

Sept 22-29 2012. All inclusive. 2 adults and 1 toddler!

Weather - amazing! around 30 degrees each day!

Hotel - fantastic, clean, big - spa, cinema room, games room, plenty of outdoor space, a gym, pools bars and restaurants! roof terrace is spacious and great for views and chilled out drinks. guests are a mix of brits, russians, polish and few german.

staff- brilliant, so helpful friendly and accomodating in every way! we celebrated my husbands birthday and they provided complimentry bubbly, cake and a birthday atmosphere! even a cocktail and certificate from the animation team! good enough english too.

room - try to request a sea view room, balcony was great, views and sunsets were amazing. queen bed. toilet not great, but least of your worries. it was all immaculate. plasma and air con.

spa - lovely, we went for a grapefruit scrub (really reccommend it for 20 euros) and the swedish massage. professional and enjoyable.

animation team - just brilliant. not pushy but there if you want to take part in zumba, french bowls, darts, volley ball, yoga, aquafit, evening entertainment, bingo or kids club.

food - breakfast, dinner, snack time and lunch had plenty of variety and fresh salads, breads, hot food, desserts and kids section. snack time is quite repetitive but tasty and fresh none the less. drinks were all great, cocktails available all day. nice Leon and Keo beers!

local cypriot food - we went to a restaurant 2 bus stops away from hotel called Verdas. amazing views across the sea on their terrace and meze was great and plentiful for 18 euro's pp. friendly staff and good service.

activities - the market was ok, very pricey for souvenier trashy type things! harbour was gorgeous, we took a speed boat for 30 euros for 30 mins. great fun. lunch at Steves Bar on harbour was brilliant, friendly eng speaking staff and tasty food.
we went on the ocean flyer 'half day heaven' cruise for 46 euros pp but was all inclusive of bar and food and was a great experience. Bex the host provided excellent entertainment! use the bus service for all trips, its excellent for only 3 euros for a day pass.
Coral bay beach is worth a visit, clean and safe, free shower facilities. loungers cost couple of euro's to hire but nice trip out with kids. all these are only 20-30 mins each direction from hotel.

overall, no complaints, apart from the fact that wifi is charged at 30 euros for the week and it only connects in the reception lobby area! not much to moan about when the week was just lovely! definitely reccommend Laura Beach hotel and would visit again.

Room Tip: there are some rooms that literally face out to the reception lobby (indoor windows!) or the front o...

Just back from 1 week staying at the laura..Hotel staff friendly, even tho did see some of the waitress staff being shouted at in the dinning room.. The room was basic and some of the things werent finished off.. The pictures in the hotel magazine werent the same as the hotel.. The new re-vamp of the hotel not upto scratch..Evening Entertainment "Non"....... Food "same s...... different day" In the hotel it was mainly Russians..Very rude/loud and very greedy..Piled the plates high and all the fruit gone...Heard for the next 5 yrs the russians have priority over this hotel......Spend a bit extra and go to the hotel next door "the george" spent most of our time in there....

Room Tip: One with a balcany..if they have any left...

Hotel itself was quite nice, private beach was a man made sand pit and to get to the sea you had to negotiate rocks.
Food in the evening was very bland and not much choice, you could only get a capachino at breakfast time, from a machine, after that they wanted 4 euros as not included in all inclusive.
Restaruant staff were miserable and rude.
I only read one really bad review on this hotel and it was spot on do yourself a favor and dont book this hotel.
Oh and its full of Russians.

I may be late in submitting this as we returned back to UK 24th AUGUST. But have to say that was our 4th year running in the Laura. This year we had a nice surprise with the rerurbishment
really smart and modern. But everything else was exactley the same meaning the wonderful staff who looked after us. They are so friendly and welcoming and remember you year after year nothing is a bother to them. The resturants are fantastic with a wide choice of menu to suit everyone's tastes. We ask for the same room each year and this is never a problem just give a few weeks notice as the hotel is always full !
I have to agree that there are alot of Russians but there on holiday too !
I would gladly recommend the Laura Beach to any one thinking of going to Cyprus its in a really good location not far for airoprt transfers, bus stop outside regular service to get out and about yourselfs The animation staff work hard aswell to keep you entertained always friendly what ever your nationality. Looking forward to returning again

Room Tip: ground floor no stairs or lifts

Well after a 3hr delay we arrived at 1.30am and the reception and porter were very helpful even offered us a snack ,not been here before so when I booked had the option of a quiet room and thought why not (turned out to be a bad decision ) because the room key failed nearly every day so that quiet room at the far end of the hotel meant, I had to trapes back to reception ,which was a long way ESP with a dodgy knee. Ok 1st morning we were awake by 7 after getting a nudge from the wife "go and get the sun beds" not knowing what the sunbed situation was going to be like we decided to head down for breakfast. A pleasant surprise it was take your pick.
Rooms were smart spacious more than enough, the hotel was v clean ,the staff were plentiful and helpful, food was plentiful if a little strange (veggies for breakfast) and the deserts were my downfall
. The pools were cleaned daily as we're the rooms , the little cove was a nice change for a spot of snorkelling . When we were there it was pretty much 80% Russian not the friendliest bunch but as long as they had their 4 plates of food at meal time ,they were quite happy sorry wrong word as they struggled to smile the whole week.
Can't really comment on evenings as we went out into paphos a few times, which was very quiet and the shops seem to be closing around 10.30 so if you were souvenir shopping get down early ,use the bus outside hotel €1 and if you miss last bus ,taxi is around €11 .
We had a day at coral bay another bus ride down the coast down to the beach and took up two sun beds and an umbrella €7.50 which I don't think was bad ,the beach wasn't the cleanest mainly dog ends ,there was a bar and food available but charged you €1.50 for a small bottle of water only 50c anywhere else so decided to wander along the road to get something to eat not far and we came upon a place called the frog and toad ran by an English chap ,we only had pitta breads which were very nice and proper chips.

Room Tip: try not to get a room on the front as there is a loose manhole cover which clanks every time a car g...
