“Not much to see”

But appreciate the history. Easy to find on the main road to Coral Bay. A tree draped with flags. Just sit and imagine.

“Dirty”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

I first noticed the tree with what looked like toilet paper in the branches but it turned out that it was hankies or something like that. Looks a bit nasty, to be honest. The first time I passed I didn't feel safe walking down, as it looked a bit creepy, but the next time a russian tour group was visiting so I joined them :-)

The "catacombs" is basically a hole in the ground with a well at the bottom. Be careful not to walk into the water, as it is very clear. Once it probably was a nice drinking well, but now it had garbage floating in the water.

It takes only 2 minutes to visit so if you are nearby, why not, but it is not worth it on its own. My general feeling is that it needs cleaning and maintenance.

“Interesting on your way to visit Paphos.”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

As many things in Paphos/Cyprus, it is poorly indicated and with few to none explanaition on-site. Besides that, it's nice to explore the remains and beliefs of the people there. Don't expect much, it's basically a small tomb/shrine and part of it was under water (the lower level).

It's more intended to the locals/believers and is not quite a touristic site but since it's accessible, why not.Unless you are on a wheelchair or with a baby carrier.

In the area (100m, the "emty" area on the maps indicated as "fabrica hill" ), you'll find an archaelological site like the one near the port or the tombs of the kings. No indication, nothing but totally free and with almost nobody but really nice to chill. There are some huge caves, an ancien roman theatre not renovated (it's more interesting that the one at the archaeological park) and from what I've seen sprayed around the ground, an ancient burial site. See my pictures.

A few minutes from there, you can also visit the St Paul cathedral ruins (and modern church). It's free and woth it. There are some nice mosaics and you can see the old turkish bath next to it, on the left hand side if you want to.

The souvenir shop next to the catacombs is attended by a nice lady and is quite unexpensive and has a lot of stuff. So this area is not completely uninteresting. walk 10 more minutes and you're at the port.

“Worth a quick visit”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

Worth a visit if you know its there, as many people just pass it. Needs to have a bigger sign to get people to stop and visit
