Having been coming to Cyprus since 1970 (Army) and holidaying for 20years since honeymoon staying at all four Cbh bros hotels down the road i saw the Amavi advertised with jet2 and booked in march 2018 thinking a change of hotel would be good and it is fair to say that we were not disappointed, Apon arrival at around 1030 pm we had an extremely warm welcome cold drinks and cold face towels whilst checking in we were then shown to our extremely comfortable junior suite and the concierge explained how everything worked including touchpad bathroom features safe ect and pointed out that due to late check in cold baguettes ect were in the fridge and we could collect a voucher for a free lunch meal, We were shown available sun beds by Andreas although we did move later on that week and I think the system for allocation works very well all pool staff extremely helpful also Lasarus the poolbar supervisor is an absolute star Tom cruise in cocktail would love his talents,We celebrated our wedding anniversary whilst there and the hotel had a card and lovely cake sent to our room along with flowers pre arranged with Kerry Halford guests relations manager who does a superb job in fact all the staff are extremely friendly and only too happy to help or assist you .For us the star of the show has to be Stella waitress in the lounge area what a lady and how lucky the hotel is to have such a superb ambassador of Cyprus as a member of staff.
The food is of the highest quality in all restaurant,s we thought that the nocturne was very good with the piano music just right and setting the mood for a well thought out menu Immenso rooftop restaurant was exceptional and highly recommended spectacular views brilliant menu and watching the Nepalese chef preparing the first courses really set the scene as to other reviews recommending turning it into a cocktail bar forget that idea the restaurant wins every time as to Fortalana again excellent food good ambiance but not to our taste although we do love Cypriot food this menu was not for us.To round off i think that the Amavi will prove to be an extremely popular choice of hotel for couples in the future and we will be returning before too long

This hotel is new so everything sparkles and is clean including the staff who try and make everyone feel special. The rooms are all sea facing and are equipped with electronic buttons not switches to open curtains, switch on lights etc. It’s a lovely hotel and all staff that we came into contact with were fabulous, kind, helpful and went that extra mile. It felt good to come back after a walk around the other hotels and know that this was yours and you weren’t staying in the others, some were truly awful.
I’m holding my breath that it stays as good as this and if it does we will certainly be returning. I suppose if there is anything that could be better it’s the ala carte restaurant Nocturne. It’s a purely personal taste thing but we didn’t like it. Piano music too loud, stuck in a corner, food, odd. It’s trying to be too clever and it didn’t work for us. Similarly the roof top restaurant which is stunning would make an excellent cocktail bar. It is currently Asian/ sushi fish restaurant. The third restaurant that you need to book for is traditional Cypriot and in our opinion is the best for ambience, staff friendliness and food except, please, if you say it’s beef stifado it needs to be traditional not posh. Food tastes wonderful however.
Buffet has a wide choice of food for lunch as is dinner of a high standard. When it beds in and the younger staff learn the trade and stay a couple of years, it will be the best on the Island in our opinion. The grounds aren’t great and the reviews rave about the pools but we have stayed in many top class hotels and the grounds and pools are ok but not amazing. It’s finding it’s feet, there is a bedrock of core staff who know how to treat guests and they are making the impact on the less experienced. Keep it up, guys I am not easy to please but this hotel is one to watch, it’s very good.

We booked this hotel because of location and the Cabana room with private pool. We arrived at the hotel midday after a long few hours of travel, we were not offered a welcome drink, which is most unlike a 5 star hotel. As we settled in we thoroughly enjoyed the privacy of the cabana, for us there are far too many sunbeds crammed along the front of the hotel, we wouldn't have enjoyed our stay so much if it wasn't for the room. Breakfast buffet offers a good selection and the same with the evenings meal, the wines on offer are good quality. We didn't get an abundance of cold towels, ice lollies or fruit kebabs that other people seem to have enjoyed daily, perhaps being in a cabana they forget about you... the sunbathing area of the cabana was not cleaned in the whole 7 days of our stay, it could have done with a mop, but it didn't spoil things. The morning we were checking out we headed to reception after breakfast to settle our bill so we could leave when our taxi arrived without delay. Our credit card was on file and we were assured by the lady at reception that the payment would be taken and we did not need to do anything further. Our taxi arrived, we gave the porter our room cards and we left the hotel, within two minutes the front desk was calling the taxi to say we had to go back to settle our unpaid bill, we were really not happy. This is not what you expect when you have taken the time to make sure everything is in order. Overall, we enjoyed our holiday...

What can I say that everyone else hasn't said. Large rooms overlooking the sea, choose your own sunbeds from the beginning & its yours till the end, with lockable side tables and complimentary fresh towels and bottles of water every day. Staff were very attentive and personable. Whether the hotel can sustain One maître d', 4 seating hostesses and numerous waiters and waitresses each breakfast remains to be seen!!! I hope so.

Room tip: All rooms are great.

Have just spent a week here and yes all the other reviews are correct. The swimming pool is wonderful the best we have ever had. Every afternoon homemade lollies or fresh fruit are brought around the pool and sun beds. The sunbed allocation system is great and you get 2 towels each. They are bigger than most hotels and the gaps between are also good. Once we wanted to change and it wasn’t a problem, the pool staff are amazing . The hotel is clean and the staff are brilliant especially Kerry at guest relations. In general the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Food is good with theme nights and a la carte restaurants. The rooms are wonderful all with sea views and loads of storage space. Everything is electronic which is really easy to use. The coastal path outside the hotel is ideal for walking to the harbour or further if you are fit enough. Will definitely be booking for next year. The biggest bonus is that it is a couples hotel so no children, there were quite a wide range of ages when we visited which was nice.
