Description: It should be noticed that the establishment is a very traditional one, in more ways than appearance. It is an old building of stone and wood. The two dining rooms are decorated with antiques and items from the old household of rural Cyprus. The garden is very pleasant with flowers and herbs growing all around it. The food is traditional and seasonal. We cook everything that can grow in Cyprus, basing a lot of our food on traditional dishes, and wild vegetables, picked by ourselves. We serve Meze, which traditionally means delicate taste, and in Cyprus it is used to mean a variety of delicacies. A typical meze at the 7 St Georges will start with salad and between 6-10 appetizers, this will differ every night but may include, homegrown olives, cured meats, dips and pickles. The meze will continue with a variety of traditional and some times contemporary meat and vegetable dishes. We use only the best meats to provide mouthwatering roasts and succulent casseroles, you can expect to enjoy our now well known Kleftico (lamb or beef on the bone cooked in sealed ovens, succulent) and a vegetarians delight of vegetable dishes, depending on the season they will include, rice stuffed marrow flowers, bumyas (ochra) cooked in a tomato and mint sauce, black eyed beans with home grown marrow, tomato fritters, cheese and vegetable pies. The meze will be about 20 dishes, depending how much one can eat, expect to be surprised and delighted at the array of dishes that will be brought to you over the meal (expect to be eating for about 2 hours), at the 7 St Georges we serve quality food in an informal and comfortable setting, take your time and enjoy the experience.

“I've never written a review before...”

However, I feel moved to write one to encourage people who love food to visit this fantastic restaurant and lovely family. Cyprus is having a tough time but this family are proof that Cyprus is so worth visiting. Be prepared...there is no menu just mezze. But it will be the best mezze you will eat on the island. Even our children loved the food and they can be picky. I absolutely recommend for great food, atmosphere and drink. Enjoy!

“organic and outstanding”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

7 St Georges Tavern was an incredible food experience - all organic, produced by the family including the olive oil and wine.
you will feel like you are in the backyard of a family friend and the host will make you feel like you absolutely belong to the family. Our host asked if there were any foods we don't eat/ allergic to - which is rare in this part of the world! i really appreciated this as i am gluten and lactose intolerant. There was still plenty of food i could eat and it was all so exquisite and great value for money.
i cant wait to go back - this is a must if you are in Cyprus

“And now for something completely different”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

No menu. Just a talkative host who genuinely cares about the food they prepares. Dishes keep coming until you tell them to stop. Everything is either cold or slow cooked (no grilled stuff) and dining is tapas/meze style. Wine is local. The owner is happy to share recipes and explain their thinking behind their preparations. We WILL go there again next time we are around there.

Lovely evening at this restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and served a delicious variety of home made meze dishes. Too many to mention. Good value and nice wine. Highly recommended and not to be missed. So book up and enjoy :))

“Amazing Restaurant”
Reviewed July 5, 2013 via mobile

We have been today for lunch based on fantastic trip advisor reviews. We were not disappointed!! Lovely atmosphere in beautiful courtyard for lunch. Family run and made us feel completely at home. 20+ small dishes with 2 carafe of own made wine, desert and coffee for 60 euros. Great value for a 3 hour lunch!! Everything homemade from wine to jams and sauces etc. out of the way but a truly authentic cyprus experience and well worth the taxi fare. Fantastic.
