Description: It should be noticed that the establishment is a very traditional one, in more ways than appearance. It is an old building of stone and wood. The two dining rooms are decorated with antiques and items from the old household of rural Cyprus. The garden is very pleasant with flowers and herbs growing all around it. The food is traditional and seasonal. We cook everything that can grow in Cyprus, basing a lot of our food on traditional dishes, and wild vegetables, picked by ourselves. We serve Meze, which traditionally means delicate taste, and in Cyprus it is used to mean a variety of delicacies. A typical meze at the 7 St Georges will start with salad and between 6-10 appetizers, this will differ every night but may include, homegrown olives, cured meats, dips and pickles. The meze will continue with a variety of traditional and some times contemporary meat and vegetable dishes. We use only the best meats to provide mouthwatering roasts and succulent casseroles, you can expect to enjoy our now well known Kleftico (lamb or beef on the bone cooked in sealed ovens, succulent) and a vegetarians delight of vegetable dishes, depending on the season they will include, rice stuffed marrow flowers, bumyas (ochra) cooked in a tomato and mint sauce, black eyed beans with home grown marrow, tomato fritters, cheese and vegetable pies. The meze will be about 20 dishes, depending how much one can eat, expect to be surprised and delighted at the array of dishes that will be brought to you over the meal (expect to be eating for about 2 hours), at the 7 St Georges we serve quality food in an informal and comfortable setting, take your time and enjoy the experience.

“Absolutely fabulous!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2013

Our fifth visit to this wonderful, very traditional, taverna. The food is out of this world and you certainly, won't get this anywhere else in paphos!!! A truly authentic meze - everything home made and truly delicious!!! Ben has now taken over from his dad at night time and is a marvellous host - the staff are lovely and the whole experience is a delight. Do not go home without trying it - you will be very glad you did!!!

“Great Home Grown & Cooked Meze”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2013

Friendly family run restaurant by people who really believe in good traditionally grown organic food, fresh bread straight from the oven with a carafe of wine. We had a house Meze and the desserts are to die for.

“Very traditional”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

We have been here 3 times before and it was exactly the same although more expensive than I remember ( last time was in2006) but we did have a lot of the organic wine between four of us. Food was great and Ben, the manager, was very informative and friendly. Make sure you have the desserts too. A great evening.

“A twist on meze!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2013

This is a taverna with no menu, but that doesn't mean you get the typical meze fare. You get home grown, home cooked, mainly organic fantastic Cypriot food. The meal starts with home made bread, great salads and your choice of red or white home made wine. Then the food keeps arriving - but slowly and in small amounts. Beef, pork, lamb, rabbit, vegetables with a twist. When you say stop it stops - but leave room for the fabulous home made deserts! Very friendly and welcoming. Ben is a great host. Not easy to find, but ask the way, it's worth it. If you are in the Paphos area you would be foolish to miss this great experience!
