“Very Nice!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

The place is really nice and clean. Staff is friendly and the villa was well worth it! We stayed in February, so it wasn't peak season and only 10 other people in the whole resort. It is away from the main areas and the beach, but all in all it was great. Wifi was only up towards the restaurant & clubhouse.

We stayed here as Coral Bay was closed. The location was not an issue as we always hire a car and the directions were excellent. It is situated between Kato Pahos and Coral Bay which provided a choice of direction for beaches, bars and restaurants. The reception staff were very helpful and provided great information and service. The apartment was good, very clean and had a very large balcony/terrace. It was well equipped, however, it lacked some of the finer points: blackout curtains (woken by the sun at 6am each morning, so no lie-ins!), pictures on the walls, hooks for coats and towels, lampshades and only music channels on the tv. Overall due to the amount of time spent in the apartment it was a good resort for so early in the season. The beds were comfortable and changed during the week, fresh towels every day and the FoC Wifi worked fairly well. The restaurant was a disappointment we tried lunch upon arrival and breakfast on our first morning and decided not to return, mediocre food and not served hot. Wine was cheap! The indoor pool was warm enough and the gym, sauna and jacuzzi were OK too. There was a shop about 7 mins walk away so we were able to get essentials supplies very easily.

Just returned after 2weeks at this resort cannot fault the resort great apartments cleaning in the apartment poor but the complex itself is spotless .We usually stay at coral bay but was imformed that it was closed for a few months so they put us here but we will not be coming here again to go anywhere you need a car nowhere to go for a drink at night only a small lounge/restaurant on complex which was really cold we like to be next to the sea this place is a car ride away from the nearest beach.Theres a nice village up the road but nearly everything was shut but it was the same in coral bay and paphos ,the weather the first week was bad so we went & bought some dvds from a charity shop unfortunately it took 2 hours to get the player to work.In the summer I would think this would be a lovely place to say but no way will we return here in the winter months hopefully our own complex coral bay will be open next year.

We come to Cyprus for a week every other year, and usually stay in apartments in Coral Bay, however, due to 'maintenance' of the Coral Bay resort, we were sent to St Nicholas Elegant Residence instead. We had a self catering studio apartment which was well equipped with cooking facilities and washing machine, clean, spacious and with a large balcony. I have to say from the start that of course we have a comparison between the 2 resorts, and in truth we missed being at our usual place which is a walk away from the coast, whereas St.Nicholas is in a more residential area, Chloriakis. We went in the 2nd week of November, and it was very quiet, but that was the case all over Pathos, the recession having taken it's toll quite significantly on the tourist industry. We rarely saw anyone else in the resort, though counted 3 apartments other than ours with lights on at night. The rooms were cleaned most days, and bed linen and towels changed, and we saw the manageress a couple of times doing her rounds to make sure we were happy, so I can't agree with the reviewer who said there was poor service. We did hire a car as we wanted to go touring and up into the Troodos mountains, but we also walked 5 mins up the hill into Chloriakis and found there were shops and places to eat, so you could manage without. Really though I feel a car is a necessity. The only beef I have with the apartment is the TV which only had a digibox with Euronews in English, with the occasional American movie with Greek subtitles on the native channels. I'm not a great one for watching TV on holiday, and in previous visits there has always been entertainment around the bar in Coral Bay where you can meet other people and socialise, but as there wasn't anyone else about, and nothing going on in the resort it would have been nice to have satellite TV. We had books though and went out to dinner for 4 of our evenings.
I imagine in high season there'd be a lot more going on and TV wouldn't be an issue, and we agreed that this time of year wasn't perhaps the best choice, but it's all we could manage with work and shift patterns. We will make sure that we can go back to Coral Bay on our next visit, but I do recommend this as a lovely resort to base yourself if visiting Cyprus.

This is very large complex of apartments for rent/sale. It seems the investor over did it, thus the prices for very spacious apartments are relatively cheap. That is very big advantage if you are traveling with a bigger family. Space, very well equipped kitchen, big rooms, terrace, swimming pools (one small indoor), good gym, Jacuzzi, sauna are all pros in addition to the price. Parking is free, wifi too. What we liked was also the quietness of the place, but for some living in almost a ghost town would be a minus. One star given by me in addition as we were given an upgrade.

Cleaning of the apartment was not as frequent as agreed with the staff and the quality of cleaning was below the standard of the whole “resort”. Wifi was almost non-existent in the afternoons. One could browse the net reasonable only early morning. A very big minus for someone who agreed to do some work during the stay. Silly thing, but there is no socket in the bathrooms, so very hard to shave ;) Location is far off, it’s a minus, but we of course knew it upfront, had a car for the whole stay so it was no surprise. Actually, as we were travelling a lot outside of Pafos, sometimes it was quicker to get to the nearby attractions. Still, it can be scored high as it is far from the beach, local attractions and main restaurant prie

We stayed for one week in a self-catering studio apartment in October 2012.

Good points:
- clean, spacious apartment with bedroom/en-suite, living room/kitchen and large balcony
- full equipped kitchen
- clean pool and plenty of sunbeds
- nice touches like wine, water and bread in the fridge on our arrival
- hot water and air con

Negative points:
- location, we did not have a car and it was a 45-minute walk to Paphos/sandy beach
- beware of leaving food out in the kitchen as we had a problem with ants
- the reception is not open all the time
- limited menu at the on-site restaurant

Thank you for your nice review. The restaurant has new staff and we are currently revising the menu with the new chef. We also have extra staff on reception to ensure we can provide even better service. We hope these minor issues will not deter you from staying with us again and look forward to seeing you again soon.

We stayed at the St Nicholas apt Oct 2012,the apartment was furnished well, it was self catering however several things would down rate them very poor service only 2star in fact .although advertised as having wifi, this was not true, also advertised satellite TV again not true, we were not told our apt was owned by someone who had left their belongings in a wardrobe. We would not have gone, There was a 40 mins walk to the nearest restaurant on the main road into Paphos, there was a restaurant on site! but the woman serving closed at 8 in the evening as she was on her own , if you have children and do not have a car this complex is not for you, A1 travel did not give us all the info regarding this holiday . I would rate this holiday as average and would not go back . Also advertised was spa and indoor pool does not open until November .Smithy
