Really lovely house but set on a very steep hill. A good 20 min walk to anything inc nearest shop. Although the pool was large and great temperature there was only 6 sunloungers ???? !!!!!! And no umbrellas. I found this very odd so unless you were the first people there u had concrete to lie on. Also the pool toilets were closed our entire holiday so a trek up a steep hill back to the house. Good bus service upto coral beach and down to harbour 1.50 euro per trip ir 5 eueo daypass. Location is a bit in the middle of not much, coral bay 15 mins in car away much busier and great beach. 2 loungers and brolly and table on beach 7.50 euro. We found cyprus expensive for food and ciggies when compared to spain. Drink prices steep in coral bay and even steeper in harbour area.

“Lovely place but a bit far out ”
Reviewed August 1, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

The villa we stayed in was absolutely lovely and very clean and such a nice view of the sea. The pool is big and a nice temperature, however there are only 7 sun loungers in the entire complex so if you don't have your own you need to wake up early to get one!
The only downside to this villa is the location, we thought we would be close to restaurants and shops however were a good 25 min walk to the closest shop and restaurants which is a hard walk in the heat and the big hill on the walk back!
All in all, I would 100% recommend but you WILL need to hire a car.

“Perfect location to explore Paphos”
Reviewed August 11, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We booked this villa after looking at approximately 30 different places. We are a family of 4 and wanted somewhere close to local transport (to experience Cyprus transport), close enough to a swimming pool which does not get busy and close enough to walk somewhere should we need to go out and eat.

This villa ticked all our boxes and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There communication between Mikael and us was great - he even provided a basic package with some coffee and breakfast stuff as we were arriving late on the day. Mikael arrange a very punctual taxi to and from the airport at a very nice price of €35 each way who also handed us the keys and showed us around incase we had any questions. There is a washing machine, cooker with grill, all the basic amenities needed to be cooking if you need to. We enjoyed Cyprus eggs on french toast most mornings for brunch 'al fresco' outside on the balcony. Upstairs you will find 2 bedrooms and bathroom - both bedrooms have air conditioning which is perfect when you get back after a day out. Although there was no air conditioning downstairs, we didn't feel it was needed. If you close the shutters and doors, the place soon cools down! The villa has wireless and the speed was impressive - you know what kids and gadgets are like! Towels and lined are provided which proved very useful and meant we could take less in our suitcases.

The swimming pool was never overly busy - we only ever saw a maximum of approximately 6-8 people in there at one time and it is a deceptively large pool so you never feel like you are invading someone's space. Many of the people at Ikaria village own properties - at least half of they must be Cypriots who only visit the village on weekends. In some instances, we had the pool all to ourselves which felt very much like a private pool. There are 3 pools one at 30cm for babies, one at approx. 0.8m and the large pool tapers from a depth of 1.2m - 1.8m which is perfect for building confidence for unskilled swimmers. It is unheated but you will be glad it is - lovely and cool in the mornings and warmer by the evenings.

There is a bust stop right outside the village on the main road (approximately 30 seconds walk from the villa, and some very nice places just 5 minutes walk along the main King of the Tombs Road. Opposite the villa is the new King Evelthon hotel which has a mini water park. Just 500 m down the road is also a fresh fruit and veg stall and behind it is a fresh juice stall (open until approx. 1.00pm). Many people in this village claim you may need a car to get about, but we found the bus stop extremely useful (€1.50 for a single trip regardless of number of stops, 50% discount for children under 12 on all tickets, €5 for a day tripper). The bus runs between Coral Bay and the bus stop at the Harbour - so you can easily get to all the places around most of Paphos easily and they turn up approximately every 10 minutes (lovely air conditioned buses). Lidl is just a 10 minute walk (the first thing you notice in Lidl is the air conditioning with you will appreciate if you walk there). 5 minutes down the road is a place called Ice2Be and Coffee2Be who have a simple but lovely menu (and lovely people). The full English is €4.50 and it's all freshly cooked. All of their food was always perfect - highly recommended!

In the last 2 weeks - there is a little shop that has opened around the corner from the villa which sells fruit, fresh juice, drinks and ice creams. They will even bring the goods to the pool if requested!

In terms of the Villa itself - it was the perfect size for us. We had shade at the front in the mornings with sun at the back, and sun in the afternoons onwards. The sun sets right in-front of the villa just behind the King Evelthon hotel and provides fantastic views. If you wanted to walk along the shoreline on the water front - you could just cross over the road and there is a path that runs alongside the shore - pretty sure it runs all the way from Coral Bay to the Harbour if you're interested in walking it!

Cyprus provided us with many memorable moments and we are keen to visit this beautiful island again. If we do visit again, we will be booking the same villa with Mikael as it was so convenient for everything we wanted out of a self catering holiday.

The village and villa is well maintained - we met many people on holiday who were all very friendly and welcoming. We miss the place already and can't wait to get back.

All in all - excellent location for our needs. Thank you Mikael for helping us make this happen!
