“Beautifully reconstructed”

I was pleasantly surprised to see how they gave life to this small village. All stone paved back roads and beautifully restored buildings. This village is worth a visit - it's as close as you can get to time traveling to an era when things were just a bit better...

“Well worth visting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

OK it's a bit touristy but it is a very pleasant place for a morning visit and a coffee or light lunch. There is plenty of free parking and lots of little alley ways to explore. The monastery is worth visiting as is the exhibition in the adjacent treasury (closed Wednesday afternoons). Plenty of souvenir shops selling goods which is a bit better than the seaside "tat" - local delicacies, wine, leather goods, table cloths etc.Several small cafes offering meals at very reasonable prices. Items like bottles of water are not always available as the only mini-market we found (at the top of the main street) is very small and no always open. Ladies are recommended to wear flat shoes - the cobble stones in the main street are very uneven!

“Omodos, does it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2013

On arrival we found it was market day, very busy with traders and customers having traveled from the surrounding towns and villages. Not just tourist as we were.
lots of local delicacies to try. Pastries, dried goat, Carob products.
Having been there before we went to the same restaurant in the square and ordered Pork chops, my favorite, The chops themselves fill the plate and as with any other pork chop I have had in Cyprus, were very tasty.
Some great little shops in the back streets which are well worth exploring.

Its a wine village very near to limassol. It has some tavern offer the basics. There are some small shops there offering traditional cyprus products (wine, comandaria, pastelli e.t.c.)
