We booked this hotel for our honeymoon. After reading the reviews leading up to our wedding we were expecting great things and were not let down. This lived up and surpassed our expectations.

We paid for the honeymoon package. It is 500 Euros but when you consider this covers your taxi ride from and to the airport, a massage in the spa for you both, a room upgrade, breakfast in bed on your first morning, an extra meal in the a la carte etc etc it is well worth the money. We were given a really warm welcome by Maria and the reception staff. We were made to feel really special. Maria checked in with us every so often to check all was okay and we were having a great time.

Our room was lovely. We had a suite on the third floor, overlooking the pools and also had a sea view. The room was spacious, clean, well equipped and decorated. We had a large balcony with sun loungers on it. The bed was super comfy and huge!! Some others have written that they found the airconditioning did not work very well. We had no problem with the temperature in our room and found it comfortable both day and night.

The lobby bar is clean, comfortable and well decorated. This is matched by the terrace which is a lovely place to relax with a drink prior to or after your evening meal. The staff in this bar are excellent. Steffan and Margarita(?) in particular were friendly and entertaining, you could have a laugh with them and they got the balance of chatting to you and leaving you to enjoy your drinks spot on. In my opinion you have to go all inclusive, the local lager KEO is excellent the cocktails are great. The house rose and white are excellent, the red isn't as full bodied as we would drink in England but it suits the climate and is very drinkable. Soon as you have finished a drink the staff offer you another.

The restaurant is buffet style as you would expect. Again the staff in here are polite, quick to seat you and take your drink orders. Dean the head waiter is a fantastic host, makes you feel very welcome and takes a genuine interest in the customers (He also does a mean rendition of Tiger Feet!!). We found the range and quantity of food very good. All tastes were catered for should you want to eat like you were still in the Uk or traditional Cypriot/Greek. The food was always hot, tasty and good quality. There is normally selection of different casseroles/meats/vegeteables, a carvery and then some sort of show cooking. The salad bar has an excellent range of ready made salads or you can create your own using the various oils and dressings on offer.

The A La Carte restaurant was excellent. We ate in here twice and I ordered the steak on both occasions as it was cooked so perfectly on the first night. Again the service was excellent and we were made to feel really special.

We used both pools, they were clean spacious and there are plenty of sun loungers around the pool, you are also given beach towels which is nice as you can change them every so often. Surprise surprise the staff at the pool bar are also excellent and we were entertained by the other Steffan when he served us during the day. As with the lobby bar, you never have to wait long until you are offered another drink.

The entertainment by the two Laurens is very good, they make you laugh (not always intentionally) and work really hard. They try to get everyone involved without being pushy or getting in your face. The range of activities we found to be perfect, my wife enjoyed the daily yoga/pilates/tai chi and I got involved with the afternoon water basket ball sessions. We also enjoyed the afternoon quiz. The acts that performed in the evening were also good in the main.

We visited the spa and had our massages. Elizabeth who did my back and shoulder massage is quite petite but she is as strong as an Ox!!! and my wife was just as impressed with her treatment. Price wise the spa is slightly cheaper than what you would pay around London and the home counties. (As I say these were included in the honeymoon package).

In summary this is a fantastic hotel, it is clean, comfortable and well decorated but what sets it apart is the service from the staff and the fact that they genuinley seem to care that you are having a great time. We will return.

Dave and Rach

We arrived on the 9th May for 2 weeks, I was very impressed with the speedy check in service and the sandwiches and coffee, brought to us on the terrace, it was 11.30pm, and after a long day it was just what we needed. The hotel was extremley comfortable, and clean, the pool area and sands beach bar across a fairly quiet road, was great cant understand other reviewers complaining!!! some folk are never happy, All the staff were attentive, polite and courteous at all times, As for the food perfect!!, delicious, scrumptious, loads of choice. The Al A Carte free meal was behond compare, A special mention must go to the Waitress Margarete superb personality always a smile and a chat. All in all a fantastic holiday experience, would recommend to anyone.

the review is to fill you in the missing bits in the brochure so you dont have any suprises.

We did have a lovely holiday, and overall complaints none, rooms were nice and modern, bathrooms have not been modernised so could do with being updated but were perfectly clean and adequate.

The beds all have plastic bottom sheet and plastic covered pillows, this to be honest made sleep difficult at times as it made you incredibly hot, and wasnt overly comfortable when you were trying to get to sleep as the plastic bottom sheet crumpulled under you so it made noise when you moved, and became lumpy. However after a few days we did get used to this.

The pool was lovely to look at but absolutely freezing all week we only saw a few brave going in, the indoor pool in sunny weather becomes an out door pool also so temp also cold.

Food was average, very repetative but quality fine, being vegatarian i struggled unlike my meat eating husband. There is a vegetarian section at evening meal in a seperated area in banborees but to be honest it looked nice but was barely luke warm, so mainly lived off fruit, potatoes and boiled veg not most exciting and i know its because i was vegetarian, but my husband said his was ok but nothing to write home about.

Sea View, well when the brochure pictures were taken i am sure the hotel had a beautiful sea view, what it doesnt show is the hotel is next to a busy main road, so is noisy during the day, the hotel is a few yards higher, but by six oclock it did become quiet and we couldnt say any more about the noise, and again after a few days we got used to it and forgot it was there.

The building site opposite the hotel and across the main road is now blocking the view of the sea for this hotel except for bedrooms which would be high enough to look over these buildings, but to be honest I wouldnt waste paying for sea view, as its more and over view than a beautiful view. The building site also blocks the access to the beach for the hotel, you now walk 100 yards and use the under pass, there is a all inclusive bar there for the hotel and there private section of the beach, just slightly inconvienient, but that was all.

the building site is nearly built its two floor apartments so we didnt hear any noise of building work going on as they are at the stage of doing the internal works, so although yeah its blocking the view it wasnt noisy so shouldnt put people off.

Toilets at this hotel in public areas is 2, 1 by the pool is literally 1 toilet so can get busy, the only other public toilet is near the dining room and ballroom on the ground floor, so if you use lobby bar you would have walk down a flight of stairs to get to the toilet, in this toilet for ladies there are 4 toilets but large queues.

Disable access, although my husband and i are able bodied, we did note that the lifts are tiny, anyone who is in a enlarged or adapted wheel chair couldnt get around this hotel as the lifts wouldnt fit them, as everything is on different floors, it would be inpossible to access everywhere, If however your wheel chair is standard size you may and only you would get in the lift but it would be very tight, we got five adults in the lift once and everyone was literly pressed against each other.

Entertainment at 10pm was very good international acts and these were definately worth going too. However at 9pm, and 11pm onwards as well as occasionally during the day the house band 'Dreem' is on its more of a bad nightmare than a dream, the guitar player is good, but sadly the singer mumbles every song badly, at first we thought it was the equipment on the first day, but when the 10pm act came on a sang it proved it wasnt equipment just a really bad singer, who has the mic to high, music too low, and mic pressed against her mouth, however they were handy in clearing the ball room at 11pm amazing how quickly people left after decent act finish.

so all in all my opinion, it is a nice clean hotel, food is average but edible, there are plenty of sunbeds in May we never had trouble, and we did have a very good time, just the few niggles above.

I would come back if i ever found myself in cyprus in this area again, as the hotel and its staff were friendly and very efficient.

Thank you for your comments. We are pleased to hear that overall you enjoyed your stay with us. We appreciate all of our guests’ feedback, however, we would like to address a few comments that are not entirely accurate in order to provide the best possible expectations for our guests.

As stated in the brochure the Bay Pool is heated and covered only during the winter season. As an island with very hot summers, the outdoor pools are warmed with natural solar energy as are most outdoor pools worldwide.

We are surprised to hear your comments regarding the food as we have always had excellent reviews from our guests regardless of the dietary constraints. Although we do offer vegetarian options, we do appreciate that not all vegetarians may follow the same diet. Our Executive Chef would have been more than happy to prepare daily meals to your satisfaction upon your request.

The building complex across the road is no longer a site as the building works have been completed. The building complex has never interfered with access to our Sands Beach Bar & Gardens as the underpass has always been the path leading directly to our beach and gardens. In reference to the sea view, all sea view rooms have a panoramic view of the sea regardless of floor level.

Also stated in the brochure is the fact that our hotel is not suitable for the less mobile. Therefore any guest who may have any difficulty would be aware of this before arriving to our resort. Similarly, there are 3 public toilets within the main grounds: the pool toilets, toilets near the main restaurant and also toilets next to the gym.

Once again we thank you for your comments.

I must say, i do not agree with one of the previous reviews ( Nearly but not quite).
Food good. service good. all staff good, ( My air con worked ok). if you want Michelin star hotel +restaurants then go to the ritz or savoy, We found nothing to complain about this hotel it is simply the best, every body works hard to look after you and they all care their priority is first class service which we got. Yes you have to pay for a drink after midnight but it clearly states that all inclusive ends at midnight. The two Lauren's are there to look after you and they do a fantastic job ( a credit to the young people of to day) My advice is do not listern to the negitive reviews go yourself and have a good hoiday

Just returned from two weeks on the 20th May, Great holiday, hotel very good with the service and friendliness of the staff even better. Food good no complaints about the quality and variety. The two Lauren's very funny in a natural way, and have both got very good singing voices. Pool and bar services excellent, mention to the Steffan,s in particular. Great mix of clients of young to old, and plenty to do with volley ball table tennis, afternoon quiz and tennis to name a few. Beer, and all alcoholic drinks very good and plenty full. Laughed non stop from start to finish of holiday, reccomend that you join in and have fun, any one can find faults if you look hard enough (wate of energy). Hotel very clean and rooms nice all in all a good all rounder, and a special hello to the volley ball team.

Just returned from a week at the Atlantica Bay and have to firtly commend the staff on great service, especially one of the Head Waiters named Deane. He always had a msile and simply couldn't be helpful enough.
Alot of poor comments have been about the location, but having travelled into Limassol, we much prefer this to hussle of the town, which I have to say, there wasn't exactly very much to see.
The rooms are excellent, clean, but we found that our air conditioning didnt work very well even though a member of the maintenance staff looked and "fixed it" on 3 seperate occasions.
With regard to the hotel's "private beach" which can be accessed via an underground walkway. The way it is described, this underpass is right outside the front door, when in fact you have to walk down a busy road and through a very dimly lit tunnel. When you get to the "private beach" it is emaculate, but it certainly isn't private, as the law in Cyprus states that no beach can be for private use only, even the hotel owns the land??? Our visit to the beach was completely spoilt but about 4-5 Russian children, screaming and running about - aged between 4 and 10. Shame!
However, the real let down for the hotel was the food, and I have no idea how it got such a high rating.
I am a bit of a foody, having been in the Hotel and Restaurant business, in a previous life, for nearly 17 years. I have set up Michelin star restaurants, worked in AA rosette restaurants etc.
Breakfast were fine as long as you had the excellent, freshly made omelettes.
Lunch, again was adequate, but again as long as you stuck with salads.
Evenings were generally very poor, so much so that we skipped 2 dinners, had our free A La Carte meal, and then we decided to complain to Adele, the Thomson Rep. She said she would talk the Customer Service Manager. We had decided to pay for another A La Carte meal, but at the last moment changed our minds. Reasonin was - why are we paying for something that really we have already paid for???
One last gripe -
We arrived at just after 11.00pm, yes pm on the Wednesday night, and was told that there would be something to eat in the restaurant. We had been travelling since 12.00 midday. On arrival at the restaurant, we were offered a rolll, wrapped in cling film - not a very good welcome, if fact awful.
Then, we decided to have a drink at the bar, this was now 11.45 - time delay due to we had unpacked. We had one drink as we were on an All Inclusive package, but when I went up to get another drink at 12.15, I was told that we would now have to pay??? How can this be an All Inclusive if you have to pay, and even worse, no one had thought about late arrivals.
As I said in my lead - Nearly but not Quite - What a real shame

Room Tip: You need to book as sea view room as the garden room is litterally overlooking a small garden but mo...

Thank you for your comments.

We are surprised to hear your comments regarding the food as we have always had excellent comments from our guests. We can appreciate your expertise in setting up Michelin star restaurants; however, we do not feel that it is a fair comparison. That said, we have an array of hot and cold selections for each meal, our local food section and also our live Show cooking station during the lunch and evening meals. As you can appreciate it is a challenge to please the palate of 400+ individuals. However, our Executive Chef carefully selects his menus with each guest in mind. The meal in the A la Carte restaurant has always been the highlight of our guests holiday and we provide one meal with our compliments to our guests.

Once again we thank you for your comments.

We travelled with thomson holidays and found everything about the hotel to be first class. We could only fault the fact that air conditioning was not switched on.
The thomson entertainment team were the two Laurens and were absolutely fantastic and made the holiday through their hard work both day and night.

Room Tip: We upgraded to a suite with a jacuzzi and could not fault it.
