Well restored and well presented small castle.Interesting unfurnished interiors with various exhibits including plates, pottery and guns but also many examples of medieval stone carving.
Plenty of stairs, fine views from the rooftop.

In the castle you can watch a bit of Cyprus history, pls beautiful ceramic colorful plates, arm seat steel instruments and old painting, from the top you can see up to the sea and even some yachts at the yacht arbor, special half prices for senior people

A small 14th century castle, built over an older Byzantine structure, with a very good medieval museum on several levels inside and a nice view from the ramparts. A good place to hide for a little while from the summer heat, followed by a cold frappé at one of the numerous cafes surrounding the outside courtyard.

Worth a visit. Was an old prison now used as a medieval museum. Interesting displays in each old prison cell makes you glad you aren’t a prisoner!

.....this was the first historic Castle visit of our holiday in Cyprus. The entrance fee is reasonable as are all such sites on the Island...Steeped in an interesting history it's very easy to explore this really well preserved attraction. With no roped off lower areas, it's a privilege to be able to touch centuries old artifacts, as countless others have no doubt done over the years...An added bonus is the Castle museum located on a higher floor. Rooms formerly used as prison cells now house a fascinating collection of various centuries old local pottery and metal items...We certainly enjoyed our visit to this Castle and our subsequent look around it's immediate surrounds which included the original old olive press. Highly recommended historical attraction to visit whilst in Limassol for both the history buff or just the curious.

Its a small castle with nicely displayed artifacts an freedom to roam the nooks and crannies. Only about 5 euros to enter and surrounded by cafes and shops. Do it if you are in Limassol, but don't make a special trip for it.

The castle is surrounded by amazing restaurants and small little streets leading onto other historical buildings. We didn’t go into the castle museum as it was closed but this area is well worth a visit if you want to see old town Limassol

I really wanted to visit but had to go alone as my husband was a bit under the weather.. I intended to take a cab as I don’t like walking and was wary of being out alone but the Hotel manager of Pefkos hotel, where we stayed gave me a map and said I could walk..

I connected to the hotel WiFi and used GPS as well just incase.. Surprisingly it was a refreshing walk and the people I met on the way were very friendly and I didn’t feel scared at all..

Though I went alone I didn’t feel too lonely and was glad I visited the Old Castle turned Museum.. I took loads of photos as well..

It's not your typical fairy tale castle, but there are lots of nooks and crannies, on several levels, with the ability to get up to the parapet for a 360 degree view of Lemesos old port and inland town.
The artefacts inside, which range from the 3rd to 18th century, are well presented in English and Greek - armaments (suits of armour, swords/daggers, pistols, various guns, canons, canon balls), coins, pottery, pewter vessels, inscribed tombstones, scale copies of religious paintings, coats of arms, and bread stamps. Outside there is an interesting olive press.
Well worth the 4.50 euro entry.

Called here as part of organised trip
Very interesting but only downside is that there is only 1 set of stairs
People wanting to be upstairs or downstairs at same time with nobody controlling movements
We spent 10 minutes waiting to get downstairs
Would be better if reps of trips allowed so may people up or down to control it
On a plus side great views from top
