“Too much food, but lovely atmosphere.”

Lovely little restaurant near the Four Seasons. Very friendly staff. I had the seafood pasta it was average and could've fed 3 people! Hubby had a pork dish that was rather tasty and BIL had huge salad, again each meal could've fed 3!

“Genuinely average overall”
Reviewed February 12, 2013 via mobile

Staying at the Four Seasons Hotel around the corner, we asked for somewhere traditional nearby. Nama was referred to us and we mistakenly thought the bellboy was inviting us home to sample some of his mothers recipes.

The Taverna was probably as close as one could get to a home-cooked meal in Cyprus. We were the only people in the venue which resembles a village pub. The waiter on duty was welcoming and generous however the food was not unforgettable nor was it traditional in my opinion. It was the Cypriot equivalent of English pub food, in fact it probably was pub food, the only difference being the dishes had Greek names.

Nice if you like eating alone, don't take a date or anyone you plan on having good relations with...

Important to note we visited in the off-season so if its the middle of summer when you read this don't quote me!

“Off-pitch appeal”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

This restaurant is very close to the Four Seasons Hotel but we only found it as a result of a friend's recommendation as it is not on the main road. Very good food, friendly staff, reasonable pricing and a quiet outdoor setting (which is protected when the weather turns) combined to make sure we visited more than once during our stay. We were very happy that the staff obliged our complicated menu requests. This place is a little more subdued than its main road competitors and is worth patronising for that very reason.

“Brilliant restaurant”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

We used to go to this restaurant for lunch many years ago when it was painted in the traditional Greek blue. We just happened to notice this year that it had been completely redecorated and it looked really clean and fresh. It is traditional with a modern twist. I think maybe the younger generation may have taken it over. The staff were lovely and we thought the food was excellent and extremely well presented. We enjoyed two great meals here during our two week visit.

I think because it is tucked away in the road opposite the Four Seasons not many people notice it I am sure if it was on the main road it would be packed to the rafters. We will certainly be back on our next visit.
