Nominal entrance fee and a good example of a castle. Stunning views to sea from the turrets. You get the feeling though that it is an odd location for a castle as it does not protect a coastline nor is it on high ground, although it did have a moat.
Well worth a visit

If you want a day away from the beach this is worth the visit. You will need a car to get there but these are easy and cheap to hire.

Not too far off the beaten path of the A-1 (just west of Limassol ) stands this nicely restored castle that served as a medieval military structure for just about everyone from the Hospitaliers to the Knights Templar to the Pope and to the Commanderie. Fun things for the kids to find --basement cisterns, baths, drawbridges, larger than man sized fireplaces, curvy stairs, and, best of all, machicolation (floor opening between the supporting corbels through which stones, hot oil or other objects, could be dropped on attackers at the base of the entry). I count most adults as kids when exploring castles and looking for these cool things! The views from the top are good too as was the wall painting on the main floor.
We combined this w/ a wine museum visit (just up the B-6 road a bit in the town of Erimi) and Curium (Kourion) Greco-Roman ruins near the town of Episkopi for a great half day outing.

Book 1 hour and stop over to visit the Kolossi Castle. The place is being fully renovated (parks and final elements of the castle). The interiors are great, there is a nice view from the roof. The entrance fee, as almost for each attraction in cyprus, was cheap. We really liked the ground floor and the small balcony, which resembled a bit the famous Verona one.
