“Great hotel after a bad start”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

We booked this hotel especially because we liked the layout of the deluxe family rooms, with a kids sleeping area (bunk beds) off the main bedroom. Having booked 6 months in advance and paid a premium for this room, we were hugely disappointed to arrive at 10.30pm and find that the room type was fully occupied. We were instead given a "superior" room, allegedly of the same value. The substitute room was in no way the same standard; a poor quality sofa bed for a child right next to the main bed, and poorly maintained furnishings throughout. We complained extensively, and the management gave us a suite from the next day onwards; the suite was very nice. The management team were attentive and did everything they could to put things right. Still, some basic errors in the hotel's room allocation that shouldn't have happened.
Overall the hotel was very nice. High standard of public areas, great pool, gardens and beach (not private) immediately outside the hotel. There is also a convenient bus stop for the bus into town and to the waterpark, and water sports on the neighbouring beach. There are lots of other families and children mix and play together well. The hotel staff were very friendly. There was a cocktail reception one night and various evening entertainments every night (a very good magician, can't vouch for the various singers). The hotel's own restaurants are ok, but slightly more expensive than those just outside the hotel. Across the road there is a cluster of restaurants and bars, so you needn't travel far for food and drinks (eg try Franx for a good value lunch).
All in all a good trip, and a hotel we would recommend.

Room Tip: Double check you've got the room you asked for!

Very impressive hotel. Nice rooms (although the use of carpets is outdated for tropical climates) with modern amenities.
Staff are friendly, breakfast is nice. Pool and beach are clean.
Location is fine, as it is near many restaurants and bars. It is within walking distance of one of Limasol's best clubs (Dolce).
Also if you rent a car the parking is plentiful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room over looking the sea/pool as the rooms facing the main road might be noisy.

The Mediterranean Beach Hotel has 4 stars. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, had a good view of the swimming pool and sea/beach and included a decent-sized, clean bathroom,

But I don't believe the hotel's service lived up to its 4 star credentials. In particular, thumbs down to the Nautica Restaurant. We had a late lunch there - we were starving. I know that the restaurant was preparing for dinner but 4 star means 24 hour tasty meals for the weary, hungry traveller served promptly and with a smile. Well a grin at least. The food was slapped down by a grim waitron and bordered on inedible. In fact, their service was so bad that they did not get the bill to their accounts department on time before check-out. It was not included in the hotel account which we brought to their attention. Another hour was spent looking for it! And I'm afraid that was not our problem so we left (with permission) but without paying for our lousy meal. Divine Providence? Perhaps.

Room Tip: Higher floor - nicer view!

We have stayed at this Hotel several times, and this time were really impressed by the friendliness of the staff.
The quality of welcome at reception has improved greatly just recently and this seems to be percolating throughout the Hotel.
Many of the staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves!
A delight of the Hotel is the Bacco Restaurant where the chef prepares delicious menus; the waiters and chef are very attentive! In addition there is a Sushi restaurant and also Sushi is available as Room Service!
It is also conveniently situated for all watersports and beach activites and also easy access to the town.
It is certainly a Hotel that we will regualry stay at and have no hestitiation in recommending to family and friends.

Room Tip: We love the Luxury Studio rooms - more expensive but worth it!

We stayed in a suite room!!! It was fantastic! The room was like a small apartment! Huge and comfortable beds, beautiful sea view, big bathroom.
The staff was very polite.
Great variety of breakfast, nice beach in front of the hotel, clean.
Food and drinks(from pool bar) were very expensive to buy! Staff is required to the beach for taking drink-food orders etc!
Expensive hotel to stay!!

I have stayed at this hotel many times before but not in the last 5 years. I need not have been concerned as a very good hotel has improved to an excellent one.
All areas were clean and freshly painted. The rooms were a reasonable size and well cleaned daily. Outdoor pool area and the gardens leading to the beach were well looked after.
The breakfast has one of the best varieties I have seen and there was always plenty of food, no matter what time I arrived. The evening meals in the main restaurant took the form of a buffet with a different theme each night. I was on a 'bed and breakfast' board but was able to purchase vouchers to allow me to use the restaurants at a discounted rate. The addition of a an Italian restaurant and a Sushi restaurant added some great choices.
While drinks were at 'normal hotel prices', there were 2 happy hours each evening and this provided quality drinks at great value.
The hotel is sited in an area which I found to be very attractive. There were beautiful seaside walks and within a mile there are incredible Roman ruins. There is a good cheap bus service into Limassol - about 5 miles away.
The great strength of the hotel is its staff. From the senior management who held a weekly reception to greet guests and answer questions, to the porter at the front door - who remembering me from previous visits, gave me the most welcoming greeting I have ever had at a hotel.

Room Tip: The inland view rooms are very nice but be aware that there may be bars in the neighborhood playing...
