“Good, beach hotel”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

We stayed in interconnecting rooms, clean and big rooms with comfortable big beds, nice balcony and very little noise. The breakfast is very good and with a lot of excellent options. Nice and clean pool, and also a private beach. I totally recommend it!

The hotel is a 4 star, it's not 5 star so a lot of these reviews are unfair. I came thinking it wouldnt be upto mark but it is. It's a very good 4 star, clean, friendly, great location. We didn't have sea view and we were on 4 th floor but road wasnt too loud, nor was karaoke for us. The air con was put on medium or low and this was fine too. We weren't disturbed once. The Ouzo/Mojito effect I think.

Staff were so friendly and so helpful from beginning to end. The guests are a different story
;-). But you just ignore them and be your polite English self in my opinion. We stayed the end of July for 7 nights on B&B basis. The food was everything you could want even Soya Alpro milk. Fry up, continental, hams, cheeses, cakes etc. Perfect. Sit in or outside. The aircon doesnt go far but you aclimatise anyway after a day.

The cocktail bar do happy hour and do the most amazing Mojito's at half price 6-7 or 10-11pm. Dont have them at the pool bar only at cocktail Blue bar as Cyprian and George make One of the best i've ever had and I know my Mojoito's. You can also get a free one if get a card and tick off 5 others purchased. The Ouzo local as well I love.

The Italian restaurant Bacco was fabulous too, home made pasta, superb and we had Fireworks that night also over the beach, lovely. Risotto fabulous if you like garlic.

The pool coled you off and loads of loungers as you have pool and grounds/lawn or beach...the beach was fab too. Clean and safe but get there fairly early as very poular as thats where the breeze is. Round the pool and beach they do waiter/drinks service and Daniel was our favourite. Very attentive, friendly and worked so hard in that heat. Just chuck water over him as i'm sure he'd appreciate it.

You can also get free diving lessons in the pool.

If it rains it blows over in an hour, quick thunder and rain then clear skies. Brilliant and the indoor pool really cooled you off after being in the sun all day. Gym was ample and didn't give treatments a go but it was always busy.

Bus stop outside, cafe's, bars, restaurants etc out front, tourist shops, snorkels/water etc. If go beach way go right to grill/fish restaurant and sit on high chairs in the sand.

We got a taxi from airport (Lanarca) 55 euro's each way as easier. I'd definately go back again and we should be in the video of the hotel as well as they we're filming on our last night ;-). I hope this review helps.

We stayed at the mediterranean beach hotel at the end of June till 1st July. Our stay was excellent, on arrival we got complimentary drinks. Our rooms were great although the view was onto the main road, we weren't too fussed because there was very little noise. Rooms are clean and you can request fresh sheets daily if you want them. Air condition in rooms are fab, it was needed a it was aprox 37 degrees throughout our stay. Pool area is great and staff are really friendly. Beach is about 10 steps from the hotel pool which is very handy. The only thing id say was slightly expensive was the drinks. And if you want to eat at the hotel if your not booked as half bord or full bord its 27 euros for a meal. However thrre are some lovely reatrants in limassol if you want to eat out
All in all we rated our stay 10/10.

I have stayed in many hotels in Limmasol as i do a lot of bussiness trips there, this is a good hotel, great facilities, nice staf etc, The rooms are ok, could be cleaner and are a little basic but wouldnt put me off. The pool is great, buffet food ok but can be a bit of a challange as a lot of guests are Russian and are enthusiastic on buffets! The best thing about this hotel is the Italian cheff in the Al a carte, the food here is superb and there is a set menu at no extra cost for half board guests who prefer it to the buffet, highly recomended.
Drinks here can rack up to Biblical proprtions, i have stayed at the Four Seasons next door and spent the same at the bar, needles to say the Med Beach isnt the four seasons so is charging too much for drinks even by London standards!

Room Tip: Standard rooms are located on a busy road so get one with a sea or pool view if you can

Just came back from a stay at med beach. While the facilities are great and live up to 4 stars( gym, indoor and outdoor pool, nice restaurants etc.) The actual rooms are far from it. Cleanliness is average in the room and worse in the bathrooms -rusty shower and sink, beds and furniture seem old. Service at reception was average - not really very welcoming. However, service at breakfast was always great. Breakfast was good too and the outdoor seatin area is really nice.

Location of the hotel is in the quieter area, we like to be around crowds and the tourist area and old town seemed to have more of tht (however, it still seemed quite empty and quiet to us -not too much going on in limaSsol imo.) However u can get there with the number 30 bus which stops right outside the hotel. Just make sure u have change -bus drivers are not very forgiving to tourists with no change.
Honestly I'd stay closer to the other areas, and def not at this hotel if I'm looking for a quiet area. Its not worth it. 4 seasons nxt door looks nice.
Jst to add, we stayed at the deluxe inland view and whle many ppl say its noisy, I disagree completely. They have double soundproof doors on the balcony to shut out all the noise. However, seeing the view tht seaview rooms get I'd say if ur gonna stay, pay extra for the seaview.
Sea is not tht great, black sand, tiny, but I guess that's all over limassol.

I read all the reviews but they left me with questions so I hope my review will answer those for you.

Check In - Simple enough you get charged for towels and safe key, fridge key but this is returned on departure. We decided not to take the fridge option as the goods were far too expensive. The room air con keeps drinks at a good temperature anyway.

Breakfast - Tip - Shower at 0900 and go down at 0930 that way you get a good water supply and temp and plenty of outside tables and fresh food. Shower at 0800 and go down at 0830 and its problematic.

Deck Chairs - Very poor in gardens and beach unless you go down at 0700 and reserve them. We always found chairs around the pool and if you want quiet sit around the upper pool as the kids tend to stay down the shallower lower pool.

Pool - Lovely and warm - Best pool temperature I have experienced and it naturally warms up as the day goes on. The sea water wasn't too bad either. Take beach / pool shoes as the sand or tiles are extremely hot and will blister your soles.

Water Sports - Don't use the ones to the right, use the ones to the left for about 10 euros cheaper.

Outside - Everything you need is within 5 minutes walk from a 'good' selection of bars and shops. FRANX (right opposite was our preferred choice) and the supermarkets either side were cheap and sold English papers sold on the day for 2 euros. drinks are 3 euros a pints and most meals are 10 euros. Moussaka was lovely as was the chicken and cheese baguette in Franx for lunch.

WIFI - Don't use the expensive hotel. Go in Franx and its free and fast.

Drinks - Don't buy the hotel drinks (extremely expensive) - Do what everyone else does. Go across the road to the supermarket, get water, cold drinks and beer )(and fruit and rolls) from the ice fridges and brink it back in. Your get the odd stroppy pool bloke say something every now and again but they cannot stop you so don't worry.

Venturing out - There is a great bus service (service 30 Blue Bus) with a bus every 10 minutes, lovely air conditioned and only 1 euro to go where you want. We didn't think much of the old harbour as under development.

Football Fans - Take the bus to Limassol (20mins) and find the excellent Woodman sports bar (on the actual bus route) before you get to Debenhams, TGIF and Nandos). They are run by english, great food and drink and about 15 TVs showing all the football your ever need

I have a few other top tips but your need to email me

Room Tip: Room 550 was excellent

, General Manager at Mediterranean Beach Hotel, responded to this review, July 12, 2012
Dear Reviewer,
Thank you for staying with us and thank you for submitting the review of our hotel and a high rating.
We were pleased to hear that you had a “very good experience” and like many other travelers enjoyed our friendly and efficient service, the room, hotel’s pools and other facilities as well as its convenient location.
Constructive guest comments greatly assist us in constantly evaluating the level and quality of our services and facilities and therefore all comments are being thoroughly looked into.
However we would like to comment on some of your statements:
Safe key and mini-bar key are offered with our compliments to all hotel’s guests.
In our bars we serve only high quality drinks prepared by experts, and our guests are often complementing barmen for their skills. At Mediterranean Beach Hotel you can have your refreshment while sitting in a pool or on the beach as well as enjoy our cocktails accompanied by live entertainment most evenings. In order to please our guests we have “happy hour” TWICE every night. We believe that not every bar and especially supermarkets can offer such services.
There are also five restaurants in the hotel offering wide range of high quality cuisine freshly prepared by our team of talented Chefs, who actually won 4 Gold Medals among 30 hotels in National Culinary Competition at Gastronomia – Gastrognosia exhibition 2012.
Once again thank you very much for your kind support and we look forward to welcoming you back to Mediterranean Beach Hotel.

Kind regards,
The Management

My husband, my two kids and I visited the hotel for 7 nights. The hotel had beautiful swimming pools and sandy beach. The buffet breakfast was rich and the staff very friendly. Reception staff was really friendly and very attentive. Management could be seen around the premises of the hotel all day round making sure all was in order. The kids spent most of their time in the kid’s club, they especially enjoyed the Disco night. It is an ideal hotel for families with small children. We will be back.
