“Lovely Pool but poor rooms”
Reviewed July 17, 2008

My daughters aged 18, 17 and 12 and Iall stayed at this hotel in July, 2008. The hotel has recently undergone a refurbishment which was very obvious in the reception area and bar areas it was definitely 4* in these areas and pool area and food was first class with loads of choices. We stayed on an all inclusive basis which was excellednt and well worth doing. The bedrooms are in need of upgrading but they were clean and maid service was excellent. The downside to this hotel was the entertainment although the reps especially shane did try their best. The hotel is not in a good location and there really is nothing to do at night. This is a great hotel to stay if you want to just laze by the pool all day and have fabulous meals but if you want more dont go here.

Do not stay here. This was the third time we have stayed here and the last!,The first year was great the second year we arrived to a building site and the third time was awful. We arrived to an apartment with some rooms not airconditioned not good when its nearly 40 degrees! The pools are filthy spent most of our time telling children not to touch the side of the pools because they were so filthy. We had to ask for towels daily otherwise they re folded dirty ones even had towels with blood on them. The entertainment area is lovely, when you are allowed to go in it.They hire it out for private functions.Out of 14 nights we spent 2 nights in there one of them was karaoke night and the computers didnt work.Your entertainment is outside in the food area next to the pool not good when you have young children. They are not allowed to play music outside so rubbish. There is never a member of management around to make a complaint to.This is not 4 star maybe 1 0r 2.the kitchen was filthy had to clean it myself. The apartment was also ant infested. This apartment cost us £1500 what a mistake we made.My brother stayed in a place callled santa barbara apartments ,5 min along from this hotel. He paid £450 for two weeks .aiat was clean and remarkabl try here if you are going to limassol.

We just came home today from a 2 week stay at Atlantica. we stayed in the gardens across the road which were perfectly fine. some people have put reviews that they are dirty and messy? Thats completeley wrong. I must admit, there are not as nice as the hotel rooms in the oasis part, but they are set out exactly the same, the only difference is new carpets and new furniture just to freshen up the rooms.
our friends stayed in the oasis and their room was very small compared to ours, so i would say its a good idea to stay in the gardens.
The self catering is not very good. we stayed half board but our room was a self catering room. there is only two small hobs and a fridge and sink, there are no work tops or working are, so i would say half board was the best way to go.
The food was beautiful. Although we stayed in the gardens, we were allowed to use all facilities in both parts of the hotel.
Each morning, you had a choice of english beans, sausages, bacon, scrambled boiled or fried eggs, tomatos, fried bread, pancakes, potatoes, cereal, cake, cheese, cold meet, salad and crackers for breakfast! This was the same everymorning but its up to you to change what you have for breakfast, so one day we had a full english, the next we might have porridge or cereal etc.
For tea which was from 7-10, there was a different selection everysingle night. there was always salad and a different carvery meat with gravey and sauce, vegtables and chips. then there was the meals which were always sifferent. there was things like lasagne, meat, curry, stew etc. there is a different soup everyday also and a huge variety of deserts. MEN NOTE: you need to bring trousers as you can not enter the dining room on an evening for tea wearing shorts or short trousers. plenty of people didnt know this and had to buy trousers out there, so just be warned.
I dont recomend you go all inclusive if you are comeing to cyprus to explore and venture out of limassol as yoy probably wont get your moneys worth. if your comeing for a relaxing holiday and might for out for the day every now and then, then all inclusive would be best for you. even if you go half board, you can buy drinks bands which are 8euro for children and 16euro for adults per day and you can have as much drink all day as like.
The pool is fantastic with waterfalls and a bridge over the top. There are games going on in the pool all day like water basketball and polo, archery, darts, table tennis and water volleyball. the entertainers are great! Each night they put on a show or quiz which are quite funny sometimes. this is a perfect place for families. its like butlins abroad as there is kids disco and bingo everynight. the bingo prizes went up to 490euro one night.
the water park is a MUST!
Its a great day out.
The beach however is not that good. although the sand looks mucky, its not, its dark because it is volcanic sand. the water is freezing and the wind from the sea is quite cold, but when we got back to the hotel, we had all burnt badly, so be careful!
Limassol town centre is a bit disapointing. there are lots and lots of shops, but each and every one of them sell exactly the same thing, so once youve seen 3 or 4 shops, youve seen them all.
Overall, we were very pleased with this hotel and recomend it to families with young children!

we booked a holiday to go to the oasis for my 40th birthday. I booked the oasis but heard rumours of people being sent to atlantic gardens, i also heard that the rooms are not done up as mentioned, and only the lobby,(which is quite nice). I rang my tour operator to confirm that i aws still goint to oasis and the reply was yes!! Me and my family arrived at the oasis only to be escourted to the gardens part !! I argued the point but they said hotel was full!! Even after my telephone and e mails i sent before. No way is any or either part of this hotel 4 star! I f you get a chance to cancel do it straight away before you ruin your hard worked holiday ! Good luck if you cant and i hope you do not get sent to the gardens part as so many other very upset people did! the reps had there work cut out !! Beware you have been warned !!!

  • Liked — i didnt, the lobby was ok
  • Disliked — they didnt put us in the oasis instead they put us in the gardens part! wrong hotel!!

booked the atlantic oasis self catering 10 days before departure on the first choice web site at a great price with day flights.
waited 1hour for our cases at paphos airport but had transfers in a mini bus to hotel with only one drop off before us so it took approx 1hour 15 mins for airport .
when we arrived we were checke in and given our keys for the apartment and given instructions how to find it boy did we get a shock it was suppose to be 4 * . my sons age 14 & 15 said l am not sleeping here it was clean but was no more than a 2 * the corridors in the block even had dirty old mats at the door . the doors inside needed painting the tv aerial did not work. l went back to reception and said l was not stopping in there. l asked if we could pay to move into the hotel but was told the hotel was full due to a conference . l went to see the first choice rep matt he told me the same but said he would check if and when it would be possible . he arranged for us on saturday lunch to move into the hotel so we had 3 nights in the apts . we upgraded to half board and were given a fantastic suite for the four of us with a large bedroom and li ving room with fridge ,kettle , large tv ,sofa,s 2, coffee tables and a large dinning size table. all furnished in matching fabric . these rooms have been refurbished recently and were at the front of the hotel with a sea view there were only 5 rooms on each floor of this block . it was like another world to the apartment block. matt the rep had come up trumps this room was fab the balcony was large with 2 patio doors table and chairs. this move saved the holiday l could not have spent 14 days in those horrible apartments. thankyou matt what a great rep sorted things out quickly with no problems.

We have just returned from a week at the Atlantica Oasis. On arrival we were advised we would be staying in the Altantica Gardens across the road. I refused to do so as I had previously read peoples reviews and saw horrid photos! The receptionist explained that you have to be at least bed and breakfast to stay in the Altantic Oasis which I felt was not made clear at all when booking, otherwise I wouldn't have booked. I spoke to the Thomson rep as I was quite upset that we had paid to stay in a 4* and was being shipped across to a very gloomy 2*. The Thomson rep was very helpful and managed to get us a room in the main hotel however we had to upgrade to at least bed and breakfast which is 6euros per person so it dented our spending by 84euros. Slightly annoying as you could get a full fry up at the Nags Head Pub across the the road for 1/2 the price.
As explained in previous reviews the hotel has not been completely refurbished. The main areas have, however the bedroom photo in the holiday brochure is very misleading. Only 2 floors of 1 block have those bedrooms, the rest are very basic and the bathroom was a little stale as there was no ventilation for the damp.
Overall the holiday was great, hotel is in a great location, make sure you get down The Nags Head Pub you will love it. The pool was fab and what we had for breakfast at the hotel was very nice and there was a large selection to choose from. Also it may be worth enquiring if you are going half board or all inclusive how much the hotel charge you as I believe you get a much better rate if you upgrade once you are there.
Overall the hotel was fine however at this stage in it's refurb it's in my opinion a 3*

Just got back from a 2 week all inclusive holiday, we was lucky to stay in one of the new refurbished rooms, could not fault it, was cleaned every day apart from Sundays as it was there day off.

We was first half board but upgraded to all inclusive as it worked out alot cheaper for us. The food was excellent, so much choice to choose from.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The entertainment staff was really good too.

The only thing I can complain about is the beds around the pool, you have to get up at 6am to get a bed cos if you dont then there all taking. The first day we didn't know so we went down to the pool around 9 am and ALL the beds were gone.

Other then that the hotel was really nice and I will def go back
