4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

i was moved in this hotel for my first night. Room was very poor for a 5 star, i would rated it as 3 star, no internet service at all either if you pay it. Hotel amenties again very average althought they look very nice. breakfast was very good, one of the best around however i staied in this hotel only 1 day and can't judge more.

We booked the hotel for nine nights. From the minute we arrived till the day we left we had wonderful service from all the staff!! The hotel is on the out-skirts of the town, which made it nice and quite. Our room was large and very comfortable. Our bed was a queen size, which was so nice. The breakfast was of very high quailty and we had plenty of choice, in fact every-thing you could think of. The hotel is next to the beach and has a lovely big pool. There was not any problem finding sunbeds either there were plenty!! This hotel is a 5 star in every way. Cannot wait to go back next year.

I stayed in this hotel because it was hosting a conference I have participated to and the fact that it was adevertised as a 5 star hotel was the only reason we chose it. This is the worst (alleged) 5 star hotel I have ever stayed in, expensive without any quality, out of date (e.g.g ancient TV, ancient fridge, cracked toillet sit), with rude personnel and worst food (e.g. rewarmed chicken sold as fresh grilled chicken worst than Subway, octopus from can). The hotel has mostly Russian guests who apparently enjoy it based probably of their lack terms of comparisson.
The breakfast buffet has a really limited choice in general and the service is very poor ( e.g. Only one type of boiled eggs 6 min, there is no tea variety you have to rely on what the waiter brings you, there is no lemon available, you need to ask it from waiters); day old bread.in general the whole buffet concept at the breakfast and also dinner gives the idea of "filling up the bellies" having no finesse nor excellence usually requested by a 5 star hotel (the lounges restaurant is no better I have eaten there the roughest grilled chicken).
- some of the reception personnel is very rude, especially the two Russian receptionists that were doing the morning shift while we were here. They should be aware that there are certain standards of behavior associated with 5 star hotels. We clearly felt discriminated based on our nationality. On the good side all the bell boys and the cleaning personnel were very nice and helpful
-the habit of sending someone to pass by the rooms and turning off the electricity is most disturbing in this extremely hot whether and has nothing to do with a five star attitude. The electricity bill is covered by the 252 daily rate....
-the insulation of the balcony door is very poor. It allows cigarette smoke from the bar below to come into the room, not to mention noise...
Seeing all these positive reviews I think these guys the rate themselves

Room Tip: The best room would be one in another hotel

Stayed last week of August 2012. The Grand Resort really does offer great value for money. This hotel is exceptionally clean throughout, and I mean exceptionally clean. The rooms and bathrooms are kitted out to a high standard. And for me, the hotel lives up to its title, 'Grand Resort'. We were greeted with "Welcome to our hotel, we've been looking forward to meeting you, and looking after you" This blew us away and without question, they lived up to their welcoming statement from the minute we arrived, to our checking out. The personal service we received was just superb. I'm a seasoned traveller and have experienced the good and the bad where hotel service is concerned, and I can say that you'd look far and wide to find a better standard of service that this hotel offers. It was really that good! We went B&B simply because the resort is surrounded by so many quality restaurants, with a true sports bar close by. The hotels food was excellent, in-particular, the resorts onsite Japanese restaurant. The spa facilities were excellent, although I would have liked to have seen a stronger evening or daytime entertainment programme. The week we were there the wine festival was on. 6 euros entry in return for Cypriot entertainment a bottle of wine and all the free wine you can drink. Hic! (bad head the next day)The pool and pool area was really clean with no shortage of sun beds and towels supplied. The beach adjacent to the pool area and safe for kids. In short, the resort is exceptionally clean, offers great food, with a genuine first class service. Highly recommended

Stayed in august 2012, it was our first time. Generally speaking the hotel is nice, having a great location and lots of dining options. To be honest it can for sure described as a 4 star hotel but not 5 as it needs rennovation. Air condition was noisy and beds not very comfortable i guess to their age, but i certainly recommend it!!

Stayed at end of June 2012. The hotel is really nice, not quite 5 star as the rooms are little "tired". But the room is cleaned every day with nice fresh linen and towels. All the staff are polite and try to be helpful. The pool area is the best feature, extremely well kept. The pool was clean, poolside spotless, all the sunbeds were in good condition as were the umbrellas - with plenty to go around. The pool towels were a nice touch as they fitted the sunbeds, free wifi too. The poolside leads onto the beach and this was pleasant and convenient.

The only downside to this Hotel is that it is a long was out of Limasol, we got the bus every day (only one euro each way or three euros for an all day ticket) to take us to places with a little more life and choice. We didn't dine in the hotel as the prices were quite high, there are about 4 local restaurants around the hotel area - the rest are a bus ride away. We found some good deals at restaurants near TGI Fridays in Limassol with set 3 course menu's with free wine for about 14 euros a head. Unfortunately the last bus back is at about 10.30pm, so not suitable for those wishing to make a "night of it".

The whole of the tourist area of Limasol appears to be taking a hit from the economic climate - so many places were closed down, practically every other shop/bar. It is a shame because I bet this was a bustling sort of place a few years ago! But those places that were left were trying hard to deliver what people want.

We got the buses to MYMALL - which was a really nice air conditioned shopping mall with a good selection of eateries and shops (including Mark and Spencers). But the journey took us hours both there and back because of the irregular nature of the bus services at certain times of day. But it was an adventure!

So, Grand Resort is a nice hotel but in my opinion it is a bit remote.

Room Tip: Many people have said that they wish they had a sea view, we paid extra for this - but never really...

We had a fantastic stay at the GrandResort. The staff took care of our entire family and went out of their way to help us out. Our kids enjoyed both the pool and the beach! The adults especially enjoyed the pool side bar!
