Similar to the rich archeologic and imperialistic history of Cyprus, this is a hotel with a rich history. Founded more than 30 years ago, and still managed by the same family. It has been built together with an associated marina bay for yachts. The main building has just been completely renovated and there is a great restaurant at the bay. Spatious and luxurious rooms but still keeping the spirit of the family. Great for families with children (appartments and an entire floor of kids fun and daycare). Very good and extensive food choices. Great spa with personalized service. It will even be better after they re-open in Spring 2020 with a completely renovated tower.

We stayed at The St Raphael for 1 week from April 5th until April 12th, the first week of the Easter holidays.
We flew into Paphos which took an hour by transfer to the hotel. Check in was smooth, we were helped with our cases straight away by the staff who were all more than happy to help. No queuing either.
We had an executive room which has bunk beds for the children and a very large queen size bed for ourselves. Our balcony over looked the back but the room was large, comfortable, close to reception and quiet! We did not realise how lucky we were to have this quiet room until we were offered an upgrade to a sea view room. The main hotel rooms are brand new so all decorated very modern which meant everything had no colour so the room was light beige. We had a small balcony with a beautiful view of the pool, the sea and the mountains BUT these rooms in the main hotel have walls like paper! The noise from the lobby which seems to go on 24 hours carries right up the centre of the hotel and is easily heard in the rooms on the 6th floor. The man in the room next to us was so easily heard when he spoke it sounded like he was laying next to me in bed talking. When the balcony doors were open the wind howled through the room, but hopefully in summer there will be no wind. We asked for our phone to be fixed which took a few days and the plug we asked for to the bath took 5 days to arrive )after much asking). The hotel is so lovely though and these problems may be teething problems with the newer rooms. Take some ear plugs and that will be the noise problem solved too.
The food is nice, very slightly samie but nice. The staff you can’t praise enough though.
The kids club staff in particular were incredible. Tom, Michael & Nikos were so professional, friendly, funny and it was them that have made sure that we will return next year. The children just adore them all and if they’re happy then we are of course happy!! Tom in particular was hilarious and very very easy to talk to. They made sure the play room was clean, well stocked and always open when it should be. The pool attendant too Stephanos was really friendly and always made us smile. These are the kind of people you want in these resorts for sure!!
The number 30 bus takes you straight into Limmassol but we did hear that car hire was also very cheap in Cyprus.
I think next time we will go in the May half term as everything will be open. This early the swim up pool, classes (yoga etc), and the night entertainment outside were not running.
THE HOTEL IS ALSO UNDER CONSTRUCTION. THEY ARE BUILDING A HUGE TOWER RIGHT NEXT DOOR WHICH TOWERS OVER THE SWIM UP POOL (which is why this pool was shut) I think this may have gone down better with guests if they had been told about the works before they booked so most people were a little shocked on arrival. These works are due to complete early 2021.
The childrens pool is nice though, very cold this time of year so children were in and out fairly quickly but the hotel does have an indoor pool that we used.
The spa was lovely. Head massage was amazing and gym was very well equipped and large.
Overall a good stay and we will recommend (with ear plugs)

Room tip: Definitely go for an executive as much much quieter!

Dear JOF1978,

Thank you for the time dedicated for this review.

We strive to create memorable experiences for each of our guests and we're so happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with us and that our fully refurbished and spacious rooms, amazing location, food and staff made your stay even better.

We would like to advise that the Tower is actually still in progress, all the exterior work should be finished by July, 2019 leaving the interior works only in progress.

Both our swimming pools are now operating, weather permitting of course .

We’re looking forward in welcoming you again the next time around. Thanks again for assisting us with your feedback. Have a great day!

The hotel has been recently renovated, it is clean with nice and comfortable rooms, with all the facilities, charming and helpful staff.

Very good and plentiful breakfast. If you choose the all inclusive package is value for money.

The facilities offered are of high standard and you can have a drink at the bar looking at the sea.

satisfactory

Room tip: The renovated rooms are very nice and comfortable, especially the sea view ones

Hotel wasn’t ready for visits. Room was very cold, air con couldn’t stop which gave me the flu, water on the floor, tv didn’t work for the whole stay on three days and no hot water in the shower in the morning. The Garden was nice and food was ok but not great. Hotel was not ready to host this stay at all.

The room was newly renovated with a marina view. I thought the fit-out quality of the room was low quality and the rest of the hotel public areas were old and tired. The canteen breakfast needs bringing up to date. The hotel was almost empty as it was low season.

Dear williamtimothyc,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

We truly regret that you were not very happy with the newly renovated rooms, even though a lot of thought as well as investment has been put into the project. Should you require further luxury and space in your accommodation, please feel free to communicate with us, and allow us to offer one of our suites as an alternative towards the marina view rooms.

Concerning your comments with regards to the other areas of the hotel, we are delighted to mention that all areas are now renovated and that our three year renovation plan is now complete.

With the above in mind, we hope to be given the opportunity to welcome you back in our fully renovated property, in perhaps one of our upgraded suites.

Our best wishes,

Demetris Demetriou, MA
