“Splurge on Luxury!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2010

My husband and I are from Greece. We decided to spend our anniversary in the exclusive resident’s only resort and it has been the most memorable one so far.

The Spa was truly an unforgettable experience. The receptionist tailor made a nice package for me and my husband. We even got to do our treatments together.

We were a bit worried about going away with the children but the resort had fully supervised children facilities at their Penguin Village. Our daughters we so happy to play and even got to eat with their new friends at the children’s Mickey’s restaurant.

Location was excellent. Very quiet and peaceful just A few minutes from town.
Our rooms had the most amazing sea views! They felt very homey.
They had a children’s pool with a slide next to a beautiful fresh water pool.

On the other side of this large resort there was a sea water pool with another pool bar to cater to us.

We experimented with a few of the restaurants, they were all excellent.

Kojima Japanese is highly recommended. The restaurant is surrounded by coi fish and had helpful waiters.

The next day we ate at the taverna. They had a full buffet of traditional Cyprus food. Great entertainment with live music, belly dancers and a spectacular fire work show for the family to enjoy.
The Enalia restaurant had breath taking views of the sea with very fresh seafood meals.

The main restaurant fleuri had the friendliest staff. We ate our breakfast outside on a beautiful deck overlooking the pool. The breakfast buffet was a feast for the eyes. Everything from the traditional pancakes, fresh cut fruits, eggs, bacon and a live omelet station with a chef so happy to please everyone’s order!

We had a wonderful family time up at the leisure land. We used the free tennis courts to play a friendly game with our daughters. Then we followed the organized animation program with organized times for archery, badminton mini golf, mini football and volley ball.

There were just not enough hours in the day to enjoy all the facilities the resort had to offer. Perhaps next time we will be more adventureous and try the organized snorkelling, canoeing windsurfing, paragliding.

Hope to be back soon!

I travelled here with my Mum and we stayed in a Royal Spa Pool and Sea Vieww room on the 2nd Floor (room 725) and we both loved the hotel and the facilities.

From the minute we walked in we were handed a refreshing flannel and fresh mango juice witch was a lovley touch true 5 star qualities!
we were escorted to our room with a bell boy who was extremley friendly.

our room was bright contempoary and has fantastic views of the adult only pool and sea, the bathroom was huge with seperate bath sepearte shoer and toilet and a huge vanity area.

we had a bottle a red wine and water on arrival with a brilliant fruit bowl selection.

the staff go out of there way to attend to your every need anything you ask they will offer and do for you, the hotel was apparently 75% full when we arrived, well i would like to see what its like empty because we never felt like we were on top of each other or fighting for sunbeds, we did not need to reserve the beds nor rush down of a morning sometimes we did not get there untill latye mornin and we still had a choice of sunbeds around the adult only pool - amazing!

the drinks are 5 star prices but not overpriced in my opinion - i have paid more at other hotels!
i had breakfast every morning and what can i say? - cerials, fruit, yoghurts, bacon, eggs, omelates, baked beans, tomatoes, muchrooms, cold meats, cheese's, breads etc ect one of the best breakfast ever, you get tea or coffee and fruit juice with breakfast and you can even have Frappes!!! and if you really want you can have Champagne!

i had lunch once at the hotel witch was amazing in the Buffet Restaurant Le fleuri very tasty and very fresh all items were home made!

the hotel is quite far from Limassol itself being the last hotel along the long coast road, although dont let this put you off if you dont mind Bussing it to town there is a stop (no.30) outside the hotel entrance and they come every 10-30 minutes depending on time of year and time of day, this will cost you 1€ single trip or retunr 2€ and a weekly unlimeted pass is 10€ and if your not sure where to get off at first then ask the driver as they are very helpfull!

i ate in the old town twice and also along the newer area. the old town i turned right at the roundabout and then found a lovley restaurant called Castello or similar and we had a main meal each witch was a huge serving and thi cvame to €25 euro total with a drink each, the portion was so big that we shared one the next night although did have a desert (yummy) the other restaurant we ate in was Cantone between the McDonalds and the Amathus again very reasonable set menue witch is at the back of the menue book costs 13€ per person!

i loved the old town more as this held alot of characture and charm, i have viseted both Paphos and Limassol and prefer Limassol.

The hotel is one of the most amazing hotels i have been fortunate to stay at and i will definatley return it has something for everyone - the maids are excellent also nothing is too much trouble! the beds are the most comfortable i have slept in and the grounds are so well manicured you would think you were in a royal garden!

we had a Thalassotherapy circuit each also witch was amazing and never before have i felt so relaxed!

Well done Le Meridien Limassol - well worthy of the 5 stars!

I just had to write this review following my second stay at Le Meridien. As before the staff were 100% attentive - all of them, from gardeners to waiting staff from pool staff to cleaning staff. They make you feel at home and you feel like you own the world!
Food is fantastic and always such a wonderful selection. We ate in Le Fleuri a fantastic gastronomic feast every evening - thank goodness for Julia's aqua aerobics in the morning!
Rooms were beautifully planned easily accommodating the needs of a mother and daughter getting ready and wanting a little privacy too. An absolutely stunning and magical place.

Fantastic hotel, very good service, apart from the unnecessary hidden costs for young families.

Cyprus is hot, children have to drink water to stay hydrated, unfortunately the Kids Club use this as a business opportunity, charging four times a day for water and ice creams.

The gym has a water cooler, you wouldn’t charge gym users for water and you shouldn’t be charging children in the Kids Club.

A water cooler should be at the Kids Club.

One other Unnecessary hidden cost for young families was the “New” policy implemented Mid July 2010, which took away the juice and milk for the children under four who eat free.

The Duty Manager stated, “Children eat free, it doesn’t say they drink free”.

This is meant to be a 5 Star family friendly hotel.

Diabolical for a hotel to act in this way.

Now where do i start.... We booked through sovereign and our first problem was luggage weight. In our travel info it stated 23kg each, we had packed everything we needed in one suitcase thinking it would save time at the carousel. it weighed only 24kg. do not make this mistake, when we arrived at the check in we were told it was one kilo over. We should have packed using 2 cases . we then had the embarrassement of opening it up and transfering 1kg into a seperate bag, health and safety apparantely, incase it does a handlers back in !!! beggers beleif eh!. the next problem was that we were told with our package we could use the lounge at the airport but when we checked into the lounge we were told that we didnt have the relevant vouchers from the agent, thank god we had a priority card for airport lounges which we used instead. the flight was a thompsons flight as my husband needs leg room and not many carriers have leg room. the flight was good no problems there. The private taxit transfere went smoothly although a bit far to the hotel about 1hr. when we got to the hotel we were greeted well but the room we thought we were getting wasnt right so (my husband is an spg member so we automatically get an upgrade,(if rooms are available) we were shown 3 options a family room which they call a junior suite - go figure ! in the citrus garden which my husband walked in as far as the hall and walked straight back out of, this was 3 star at best !! then onto a villa ( a small duplex apartment within the citrus garden) my husband did manage to look at this one but we didnt want self catering . Choose any room on this resort other than in the main hotel you will have to walk quite a way for your meals as we were taken on a buggy to see these rooms, this is a 3000sq ft resort. That night we decided to stay in the room that we were allocated , a spa room which is a lot more modern, big bathroom, shower, and very quiet and we would pay extra the next day and upgrade ourselves to a suite in the main hotel. This suite overlooked the pools, sea and marina, it had a very big seperate seating area, reasonable sized bedroom ( superking bed) big modern bathroom with large shower and lots of wardrobe space even had a tv over the bath, ah bliss. . Next peeve was the so called 9 restaurants which we were excited about as we were half board, but alas these were not all open in the evenings and the only place you could eat on the half board basis was in the same place you have your buffet breakfast, buffet lunch and flipping buffet dinner, yep do not go to this hotel if, like us , you hate self service meals. Tthe buffet meals in the evening were themed, italian night, greek night, asian night ect with loads of choice and for families these were excellent.. we decided to go a la carte on our last evening and went to the italian restaurant where we expected top quality food er WRONG if you are used to good italian cuisine dont bother the choice was basic pizza/pastas and poor at that!. .So in a nutshell if you have kids this place is great. dont go if you want to have a choice of foodie places next door cos ther aint any just one called terra mar which is good 10 mins walk out of the hotel. the nearest town is limasol 10 mins drive away toward paphos and whatever you do do not go the other way as its the cement works, not pretty and you can see the place if you have a room with a sea/ marina view but only if you look left!! dont buy alcoholic drinks, we get 5cl here in england a shot in the hotel only 4cl and its 6.50 euro a shot and wine is expensive so buy outside. if you dont want to hear many english accents this is the place to come as its full of russian and polish tourists and workers which the latter i must say are very helpful and polite infact this hotel rates a 10 on the staffing front. well i have gone on enough so summing up . families yes newly weds maybe young couples NO and if you are like us and are used to real 5-6 star establishements NO. oh and the entertainement consists of the same 5 people every day for adults and kids yep POSH BUTLINS is about right! have you galzed over yet? hope not. if you do go to this hotel and you have any probs go see a lady called ledo she is very very helpful. We hired a car, a tip, dont get a convertable, its too hot and dont fly on a first choice plane unless you have leg room, poor people behind us had to sit with their knees us their noses!!.

We travelled from Manchester to Limassol the taxi fare was 65 euros and took around 45 mins, when we arrived at the hotel we were greeted with fresh orange juice and cool towels to wipe your face, check in was straight forward and the staff were fab! the rooms were clean and spacious, we had the garden view with interconnecting rooms, the pools always had plenty of beds no getting up at breakfast putting out your towels, we had a mixed age range of children from boys 9, 14, 16 to girls 10 & 13 the whole time we were there we new the we safe in any of the pools or just walking arround the hotel, There are plenty of places to eat in the hotel, breakfast was excerlent with lot of local fresh food, eating in the hotel can be expensive, beers around 10 euros white wine around 23 euros/bottle. This was my first trip to limassol and I would recommend to anyone, the weather on average alway in the 80's. My only complaint would be the 19 euros a day for internet access or 90 euros per week!

Went back to this hotel as the kids club had been so great 2 years ago . The staff at the club are fabulous , they remembered my daughter from her first visit when she was only 2. She had a great time and we were completely relaxed to leave her in their care . How great not to have to book in, just being able to drop in and out was great.
The beach here is more shingle sand than fluffy gold sand but perfectly good for building sandcastles and a lovely safe , gentle drop into the sea for children .
Hotel was clean , helpful staff and buffets were amazing - compliments to chefs .
Downside the price of alcohol .
Altogether another lovely holiday here .Would highly recommend for club alone .
