“Fantastic getaway on the weekends for the kids”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2014

The kids never tire of going to Santa Marina. We do it every few months. Always call and go, Christian who owns the resort is easy to talk to and explains everything clearly.
The dads and kids like the romp through all the activities... wall climbing, archery, pony riding, the maze.. and the sky trail.. etc . All the activities have the right temperament for kids from 4 years and above...., I personally like the general relaxation with the moms at their cafe. Service is nice, staff are exceptional with the kids...a gem of a place in cyprus.
If one remembers that its a really large fun open play area for the kids with supervised activities thrown in as bonus, and NOT a spa for the parents, Santa Marina is everything that it says it is.
Happy to go there again in a few month.... maybe next weekend....

“it's not worth the money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

First time visitors, and we chose a 30 minute ride. Must say that the horses were in quite poor condition though well fed. We had a view over the retreat and the lake, but we saw absolutely nothing of significance. We were taken up to the Olympic riding arena and down the same way we came up, stopped for photos but during the ride there was no actual ride. The escort was handling the horses which they walked not run and we were just sitting on the saddle tnothing else. Many activities for children and adults offered but extremely expensive and of poor quality, no words can explain the image we had from the place which it seems that it had better days.

“Not as expected.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

First time visitors, and we chose to ride. Thankfully just for 30 minutes, because the horses were in quite poor condition. Their hooves were in desperate need of a farrier, the tack did not fit, including the saddles, and my boyfriends horse had the worst case of eczema I've ever seen. Thankfully they were both well-fed, but that's about it.

We were also promised a nice ride for the 30 minutes, with view over the retreat and lake, but we saw absolutely nothing of significance. We were taken up to the Olympic riding arena and down the same way we came up.

The small part of the retreat itself that we saw, also looked like it had seen better days. The petting zoo for once was a complete joke with trash laying around inside the pen. We did not bother to rent a buggy, so we went home instead. I would say it's not worth the money. If you want to go here for the horse riding - don't bother.

Dear Mariam,

Thank you for your feedback that we appreciate and use as part of our Quality policy for continuous.
I would like to diasgree about your comments concering our horses since we have a vet who monitors the horses' well being. In particular Tarzan does have a skin condition that looks particularly bad in the hot months but be assured that he is cared for and is in no pain.
Concerning the ride please note that during the warmer months the countryside and the tracks are dry but this due to our climate and the local environment.
Unfortunately we could not use the specific track past the copper mine due to the Race Horses using the race for training a that time.
Finally the petting zoo animals during the summer months are rotated ( pigs and geese) for their own well being due to the high temperatures. The few animals are ideal for children wanting to see and feed a pig for the first time. However, the issue of trash will be looked into with the keeper.
Thank you

Dear Madam,

It is with regret that we saw your comment since once you pointed our the issue you were only charged Euro 5.00. Furthermore please note that you order a double orange juice and since the rate for a single is Euro 4.00 the cashier charged it two times.
It is a shame that you take the time to put down the hard working and honest staff of the Retreat who made an honest mistake but do not have the courtesy to comment that you were in fact only charged Euro 5.00.
We appreciate that your were candid with your comments.

Thank you,
