This is a small hotel and can be a bit cliquey if a large group are staying there and hogging the swimming pool ! But it is very reasonably priced ,the rooms are simple clean and comfortable, all I think with balconies.Do go for an ocean view as the others face on to a busy road. Paying extra for the air conditioning and a safe is well worth the extra charge. The set menu is okay but we love fish(well you're" on an island right next to the sea!)and suggest you ask for the local fish as I suspect some of the fish on the set menu is frozen.

Arriving late at night after our flight and drive up from Pafos we appreciated the offer of a free beer while we checked in and arranged a snack at the hotel restaurant.

The hotel itself is in a great location overlooking the sea and an easy (10 min) walk to Polis town where there is a wide choice of restaurants. Having said that, most evenings we simply upgraded to half-board at the hotel for e14. This option is really good value as the half-board menu has three courses with plenty of fish (and vegetarian) options. All large portions, tasty, well cooked and presented. If you book early, staff will reserve you a sea front table.

The buffet breakfast was ample but tended to be a bit monotonous with the same choice of fried eggs and bacon, olives, tomato, cucumber, toast and jam.

We found our room furnishings and bathroom a bit dated but the room was clean and perfectly OK for our needs. Staff were friendly and most had very good English (some with an Aussie accent!)

The beach is pebbly but we still managed some snorkeling (tip: walk along beach away from Polis and after 5 mins below a villa development you will come to a sunken walkway of white painted sandbags which provide an easy way into the sea).

Room Tip: Book a 'sea-view' room and request second (top) floor or on the first floor overlooking the...

We have just had a lovely holiday at the Souli beach hotel 14~11~2012 for 7days the weather was perfect sat outside to have our breakfast. As always the welcome was warm and friendly. There was a big family wedding taken place ,but we were made to feel part of it.The food was also first class and it is a long time since we have had Sea Bass tasting so fresh. For price etc it is very good value for money.

Room Tip: Go for room 201 with its stunning views.

I tried to book into this hotel which has had some good reviews. Due to previous experiences in Cyprus hotels I contacted the agent to inquire about whether the advertised disabled room was fully adapted for a wheelchair user who cannot climb in and out of a bath. It is unfortunate that there is sometimes a view disabled people have holidays with carers - but forget they need a holiday too! Facilities at home are often better than this for personal care, so families with a disabled member don't have much choice if they want a good holiday.

From the moment we arrived we knew that we were going to enjoy our holiday. The stunning location took our breath awayYou could not ask for a better postion right by the sea with outdoor eating areas and relaxing lawns and swimming pool. The rooms were good with plenty of hanging and drawer space, better than some higher class hotels we have visited.Well worth the supplement for a sea view to be able to sit out side and chill out.The hotel has a daily half board offer whch allows you to have a 3 course meal for 14 Euros. We usually prefer to eat out and there are plenty of nice restaurants a short walk way by the pretty fishing harbour but the choice of 27 starters 31 main courses and 7 desserts was too good to resist. All the meals were delcious and plentful. The family who run the hotel could not do enough to ensure our stay was a memorable one.We stayed another night because we enjoyed it so much.We will be back!

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a sea view

The Souli has a superb position next to the sea with stunning views along the coast. The building has real character which is refreshing in an age when hotels are constantly "refurbished" and similar wherever they are. Here, the inviting pool and surrounding area of garden made an immediate impression. There was plenty of seating downstairs and no rush to grab a place by the pool. We could hear the waves from our bedroom which overlooked the pool and the sea. The room was spacious and comfortable, kept clean by cheerful staff. It was clear on our arrival that every effort was going to made to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Frixos welcomed us and sorted out a problem straight away. We arrived at lunchtime when we first experienced the delightful restaurant next to the sea. We were impressed by the friendly and extremely efficient waiters. The menu offered plenty of choice and food was well cooked. By the way, the cats which someone mentioned are part of the family and we found them very polite! Other reviews mention breakfast which was much more than the usual self service meal offered by hotels. The cooking was again very good, there was plenty of choice and guests never had to wait for anything. In fact, the whole hotel was run extremely efficiently by friendly and happy staff, many of whom are members of the owner's family. Latchki is a pleasant port with enjoyable boat trips along the coast towards the unspoilt Akamas peninsula. We hired a car, arranged by the hotel, and found sandy beaches on the other side of the peninsula and near Paphos. The whole area around Latchki is relatively unspoilt with some stunning scenery, well worth exploring. We don't go to built up resorts or hotels which offer night life and UK style living. We want to experience some of the local atmosphere and appreciate the life of the local people. This part of Cyprus makes that possible. No wonder guests return to the Souli. It was certainly our kind of hotel..... Thanks to you all over there. October 2012

Room Tip: All the rooms are fine but it's a bonus to look at and hear the sea!

We got such a very cheap Thomson's package to The Souli, we would have been satisfied with cleanliness and a simple breakfast. However, our expectations were far exceeded in every way.

I'd say the hotel is much better than basic. Our room was simply furnished but it was a fair size, comfortable and clean and we had a balcony with a lovely view. We were at the side and were not aware of noise from the main road at the front of the hotel, even when out on the balcony. We paid supplements for airconditioning and a fridge, both of which were good, and for the safe. Maid service is daily and towels and sheets were changed every 3 days. Management was welcoming, always helpful and service in all areas was very good. The hotel ran like clockwork and the atmosphere was relaxed. Staff were helpful and attentive.
We had planned to eat in different restaurants in the area each night, but ended up mostly eating in the Al Fresco Souli restaurant where food, service, atmosphere and views were excellent. Breakfast was simple but more than the advertised continental- one fresh fruit daily, 2 cereals, fresh salad, cheeses, cooked eggs, bacon, sometimes beans and sausages, toast. There were no queues and food was constantly topped up. The only negative point for us was that there were about 3 cats constantly prowling around the restaurant and pool area - but no wonder as lots of guests were feeding them.

We went to The Souli because we couldn't pass up such a cheap late deal, and we did have reservations before we arrived not least because of the price and its being 2 star, but having been once, we do hope to go again.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms are at the back of the hotel, overlooking the pool and don't get too much sun. Vie...
