Just back from 6 fab nights at Anassa. Our second time and it was even better than the first time we visited. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the other guests, on the whole were a good bunch too. The setting, decor and facilities at this hotel really set it apart and make it special. The kids club and water sports centre are both well run and very popular with my 5 year old! The food is for the most part great. Can't really understand the criticism of the staff or the prices, for most of the summer the staff are operating in heat which we find it impossible to even lay around in, so I'd cut them a little slack, last summer the waiters had to change their shirts three times during lunch service!! Re the pricing it's much the same as all hotels of this level and rightly or wrongly there's a certain exclusivity premium which applies in these places. I love it here, had a perfect holiday and that to me is priceless!

My husband and I stayed at the Anassa for a week with our 4 month old baby in Sept 2011. The biggest plus point was that the hotel lent us several baby essentials (free of charge) such as a steriliser, bottle warmer, baby bouncer, playmat, bath tub, changing mat. At an additional cost they also supplied us with formula-- fantastic as we did not have to worry about carrying too much with us.
The hotel is beautiful, food is very good albeit very expensive - with hindsight, going half board would have been a better option.
We spent the entire holiday at the resort as there is not much to do outside - apart from the swimming pools there is also a beach and the sea is brilliant to swim in. To get to the beach, one needs to go down several stairs; not easy with a pram! and what I would say here is that although the staff were generally very friendly, no one helped us going to and from the beach to the hotel with the pram which was very disappointing.
The spa is excellent! having been to many spas in several amazing hotels around the world, this was one of the best.

We stayed in the upper story, and our room was big and very cosy, with this little balcony, looking at the sea. At night we left the door to the balcony open, and when a storm with lightenings started it was the most romantic thing to stand on the balcony, covered with a blanket, and see nature dance just for us....

Room Tip: Travel along the beach, from one side of the bay to the other. It is sooo nice and peacefull.

We chose this hotel because it was in an area well away from Pubs, Kareoke, Neon signs, and all that makes Paphos awful. This hotel is about 35 miles north and is a gem.
One difficulty is that it does not have a large sign on the road, pointing down the lane where it is sitruated, but that was the only thing that marred our welcome.
Once inside it was smiles all the way. The biggest was mine when they told me we'd been upgraded to a front facing suit, but then it was the first week in November and there were only 15 rooms occupied.

The view is a dream, the choice of areas to sit is more than edequate..you can face any way you like and still have a great view. There was only one child staying when we were there and it was tame, but it seems two weeks earlier there wre lots of the little dears sunning around, so beware "half term".

The room was excellent. Wonderful to find BBC1, 2, and ITV and Sky News. ( The real one, from London, not the awful repetative one from all over the world. Oh and a DVD player without asking for it.

Marble everywhere ( except the bed which was lovely) Breakfast unhurried, spacious, and a good choice. In fact all food in hotel fine ( though expensive in the "gourmet" restaurant, but beware the restaurants (or more properly cafes) down the road in Latchi.
Every one had the same menu, a similar blokle on the door trying to drag you in, and more often than not some very noisy, cackling Brits.

Best meal was at "The Old Town Restaurant" in Polis, just a further 2 iloms up the road, even Michaelk Winner would have approved... subltle use of herbs, and quite reasonable.

One thing.. at the managers drinks party dont mention the war ( the one with the Turks) it sets the Manager off on a rant !

Room Tip: Go for one with a view of the sea.

We have just returned from an excellent week with our two children for half term at the Anassa. We were delighted with the rooms (interlocking). The food was fantastic and even though it was half term it never felt crowded. We wanted to make a special mention to Johnny in the bar who along with his brothers provided wonderful service. We fell into a lovely routine of having the house special the rose petal mojito every night before dinner and the children even enjoyed their own 'mocktails' We had a great hour at the complimentary wine tasting and discovered some very good local wines.

There isn't much to do in neighbouring Latchi or Polis so a stay of 5 days was perfect for us. The children got thoroughly involved with the water sports and have come back having learnt to windsurf, wakeboard and sail.

The only small complaint was the service at breakfast. It was incredibly slow and out of sync with the service we experienced for the rest of the day.

We plan to return next year

We celebrated our wedding here and I'm so glad we did. The hotel is beautiful in every way and the staff cannot do enough to help you. I find it hard to understand any negative reviews...Our experience of the hotel exceeded all of our expectations and we left with amazing memories.

From the moment I arrived at our amazing room with my Mum and bridesmaids to the moment my husnand and I left as newly weds we were treated like royalty. On the wedding day, the staff in the spa made me feel like a princess and following direction from the trial earlier in the week, did my hair and make up exactly as I wanted. Special thanks to Elena, Ingrid and Rosa.

Christiana arranged our wedding which was held in the breathtaking chapel on site. Our ceremony had everyone crying with emotion! We used the sunset terrace for our cocktail reception which was perfect for a small party. We had a casual mezze meal in Pelagos restaurant which everyone thought was delicious and althought we had not booked exclusivity, Christiana had placed us on the lower level of the restaurant where we could hear the sea- It couldn't have been more perfect.

On the wedding night, we went back to our suite, drank champagne and swam in our own heated pool! It was wonderful and the perfect way to relax after such a busy, exciting day. The following morning we were brought more champagne and a wonderful breakfast on our terrace. We spent the next few days relaxing on the beach or by the pool where the staff were always on hand to set up our sunbeds with luxurious towels and attend to every need. On the last night, we had our private candlelit meal which was the perfect way to end the holiday.

Don't be put off by negative reviews- the Anassa is a beautiful and luxurious place perfect for honeymooning couples and families alike. From our room we could not hear any noise from any other guests, it was completely private. There were lots of children there as it was half term but they were well behaved and polite at all times. Yes, there are a few cats and although I'm not a fan, it really didnt bother me.

One last thing- You have to go and have some treatments at the spa- they are fantastic and the ambience and finish are beautiful and left me feeling the most chilled out I have ever felt.

It was a fantastic holiday that we will never forget- Thank you to all at The Anassa for making our wedding the best day of our lives.
