It is wrong to limit a visit to the small spring and pool. Those are quite nice but not worth a long trip to see. But the area around is AWESOME. The beauty of the landscape, the color of the sea, the perfect clean and cool water of the sea and an amazing underwater world. If you combine all those things, you will have the time of your life.

The surrounding Akamas region is beautiful and the Baths (although nothing more than a pungent grotto) are worth a look if you like your legends. As for eternal youth - I splashed my face but still look like an old hag, haha.

This site may not be the most accurately described mythological site but the area around is spectacular and the site itself is well presented and free. Spend some time and eat on the terrace of the tavern enjoying fresh fish and the marvellous views. Awesome clear blue waters for swimming. With glorious sunshine what more could you ask for.

Take the surrounding area out of it and the "baths" are a bit of disappointment. We actually cycled there from Polis after hiring a couple of bikes, this wasn't our intended destination but we thought we would check it out.
Essentially it's a small pool of water and the legend is much more interesting than the actual site! We stayed about 5 mins for a couple of photos and left. You are not actually allowed in the pool either.
The surrounding area and views are magnificent, if you are visiting for the nature trails and walks etc. by all means pop in here but I wouldn't recommend travelling just for the Baths of Aphrodite.

The Baths of Aphrodite is definitely worth a visit . It is located along the western coast of Cyprus on route Polis or Latchi. The Baths are located at the end of the road and must say could do with better signposting . The entrance looks no different to a municipal garden but there are some nice species of plants for the botanist amongst you. There are numerous trails one can take within the garden . There are small wooden sheds where one can sit and do bird watching . A small path leads to the Baths which is a small but beautiful pool where legend has it that Aphrodite bathed with Adonis and taking a bath in the water can make you younger and more attractive - I did give it a go by splashing some water over myself( bathing is forbidden ) but still waiting for the results!! There are some lovely views of the Mediterranean from the garden . The parking is free just outside the garden . There is a local just outside the garden with donkeys and children can sit on them for a ride or can have their pictures taken for a small fee off course but the animals are well maintained and well behaved . I bought 16 oranges for 2 euros from a elderly woman selling them from the back of a small truck and must say the oranges were delicious . Try visiting the area early in the morning before the tourist troves arrive and you will have a better experience of the place .
