The hotel arranged everything when we went out in August for our ten year wedding blessing. What an amazing day, we had the ceremony on the beautiful Makenzie Beach. The Hotel arranged a priest to conduct the ceremony. Seventeen friends joined us in Cyprus all staying at The San Remo. A traditional Cypriot feast with Greek dancing was waiting for us back at the hotel after the blessing, again all arranged by the Hotel.
We are booking now for next year and would not stay anywhere else. The staff are warm friendly and have a great sense of humour. Truely great value for money for a two star hotel.

Hotel San Remo in Larnaca is an OK place to stay. In hotel terms its middle aged and located about 1km from the city centre in an OK and quiet neighborhood. Mackenzie beach is a 5 min walk away in the other direction from the centre. The room standard is OK, clean, avg size. Free TV with 10 or so channels from all over the world and the overall standard youd expect for a 2/3 star hotel.
The breakfast is nothing special but no disaster either. The hotel also serves dinner but you have to order it before lunch. That dinner is good and well worth the money.
Functional free wifi in the reception, bar and by the pool but not in the rooms. The staff is pleasant and speak good english.

Overall not a bad place to stay for not too much money.

May be in summer it is more expensive but in November I paid £17 per night inc. breakfast and the hotel was just good enough for this money. Everything was a bit old. However the room was clean, staff helpful and nice and the location was alright. 15 min walk along the sea from the city centre. The area has few very good (and not cheap) fish restaurants, beach, and few shops. Great value suvlaki (kebab) place is 50 meters down the street from the hotel.
Ok to be honest some of the negative comments are true but what do you want from 2 star hotel??? 2 things for me were unacceptable: cockroaches in the basement toilet and very poor quality of breakfast food. I don't mind when the food is simple BUT I don't understand how can you find soo bad tasting cheese and olives, let alone ham which even local cats refused to eat. And coffee! come on guys! Even the poorest hotel can afford to make filtered coffee at least! You cannot keep giving people poorest quality instant Nescafe.
Nevertheless I would still recommend this hotel simply because there are not many affordable hotels in Larnaka and this one has good value for money. Just don’t eat breakfast and you’ll be fine.

Hi everybody! I had an incredible experience in this hotel. I don't understand how other clients are agree with everything what's happen there!!! I went in Larnaca alone, but having a friend there. My friend came in a day to visit me for a few minutes to can go together on beach, and because the receptionist did't saw my friend when he entered, when we went out the manager of the hotel asked me to pay the night for him too. In the next day, my friend came again to take me to walk to the beach and, of course, this time he went to the receptionist and tell him that will be in the hotel for only a few minutes. Belive or not..the receptionist asked from him 10 eur, because he said that all the visitatores must pay even if they stay only 1 minute or 1 hour. The conclusions are yours..

If you reserve a single room like you did it means one person is staying if two are staying the room needs to be upgraded to a double or a twin room and the supplement needs to be paid this is a rule internationally.Furthermore right of admission is reserved and your guest should be registered when entering the hotel this is for the safety of yourself and all other guests Sorry you did not find these rules acceptable in our hotel.

In the last 10 years this was our 4th trip to Larnaca. Even do we could afford to go to other hotels, which are fancier, we prefer the friendly owners and the open spaces in the whole hotel. The front door is always wide open, and you can see the bar, the swimming pool as soon as you enter.
The rooms are simple, but practical, and in my view they are perfect for holidays. Small TV, safe (for fee) large balcony, Air conditioning, comfortable bad. The Mackenzie beach is about 300 meters from the hotel, and on the way you pass a few good fish tavernas, and a very pretty fisherman's wharf., with about 250 small fishing boots in it.

The hotel's website say's it all. ' Arrive as a client and leave as a friend '

We honestly didn't want to leave.

We only stayed for 1 week but what a week we had. The hotel is fab and really should't be only 2 stars. It was scortching hot (45 degrees plus) and all we did for a whole week was relax by the pool. Bliss!
The hotel may be a bit basic but it is welcoming and comfortable and very well located.
The service there is second to none and everyone bends over backwards to ensure you have a pleasant stay in any way they can. Our son (aged 7) was never bored due to Andy ( the permanent resident) teaching him to snorkle in the pool. The food was great and Eurika's roast potatoes are to die for. The rooms and towels were cleaned every day. We couldn't have asked for any more in our opinion. We would just like to say a VERY BIG THANKYOU to:
Nick & Eurika ( The Owners)
Debbie
Andreas
But most of all to Donna and Andy

SEE YOU IN 2011
