First of all I'm a little late with this one as we stayed there with my girlfriend in end of November 2012! Nevertheless lets get going! We got to Larnaca around 10pm on Saturday night and decided not to wait for a bus as it was going once every hour at that time. As we were also too cheap for a taxi we decided to walk. It was about 5km and probably would've been frustrating with all our luggage if it wasn't for the fact that we were really, really drunk!
After we got to the hotel, at the reception I immediately felt the niceness of the staff. They were cracking some jokes right from the start! Also at that point I realized they are a family run hotel. Which is a huge plus and its so much different from the big chains. Then we got to our room. There was a bathtub, nice shower, double bed, small tv and a balcony! Perfect! At this point I would like to point out that we paid 140€ for one week. So that's only 10€ per person per night!
So then we went out to find a place to eat. Basically its a 1.5km walk to the main strip, where all the restaurant, bars, clubs and the main beach is! (The beach is called Finikoudes) There are also some restaurants closer to the hotel but they're not open till late at night and you can just find much greater variety closer to the main beach and city center. There's a lot of bars and active nightlife on the main strip! (even tho it was really off season in late November) just take your pick!
During our trip we also took day trips to Ayia Napa and Nicosia. The bus tickets are very cheap. I think it was like 4€ round-trip to either one from Larnaca. In the center of Nicosia they had an ice hockey ring. Yes, you heard me right. There were lot of white folks skating furiously around the ring and many locals gathered around to stare them with that face: "how can they possibly do that?" It was a lot of fun.
All in all I very much recommend this hotel for budget travelers, whether you're a couple, family, friends or solo. Everybody will feel like home there. There's always somebody to chat to and share interesting stories with!
