“Historical place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

A place filled with history. I recommend visiting only if you are interested in ruins and patient. Also, a guide is of great help. Also, don't forget to have water with you, especially if it's a hot day.

“Kition”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2012

Few Hellenistic or Roman artifacts have been found at Kition, making the site unusual and especially important. It also makes it politically delicate, as Greek Cypriots tend to be less enthusiastic about ruins of Asiatic cultural origins.

“Archeological Monument in Larnaca”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

In the town of Larnaca Kition is the name of several archeological excavations made by Swedes. The main visible structures are those of a large shrine that was rededicated to the fertility goddess Astarte by the Phoenicians and four small earlier.

See this magnificant amphitheatre and step back in time and imagine life and theatre as it was in years gone by,but also see views to take your breath away, good idea to go down for a swim afterwards.

“great for historians”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2012

archaeologists would love this slice of the past. Just a shame the Cypriots don't look after their national treasures a little better. Rubbish strewn about !
