We have just stayed at the ship inn for one week ,wish we had gone with mercurys three week offer..It was our first time to northern cyprus ,definitely be going back & will most certainly stay at the ship.all of the staff were first class ,so friendly, rooms were good and clean food was good, nice buffet style breakfasts. We stayed half board & always found something on the dinner menu if you couldn't find anything that you wanted there was a very good extensive a la carte menu.
Thank you for a great holiday.

Room Tip: first floor above the pool overlooking the mountain

We have stayed at the Ship several times oveer the years. We used to take advantage of their Offers, which they don't seem to do very much now, Wiht the offers it was very good value for money but at the full price it is still OK, Basic rooms but clean and comfprtable and the food is good. What more do you want ?

We had a lovely two weeks at the ship inn.we wish we had stayed for three with the mercury deal. All the staff from the reception to the waiters and cleaners were first class. It was lovely to be waited on at dinner time . The breakfasts were buffet style and always plenty of food. We loved the brown bread especially and marmalade . The waiters were so attentive and good fun especially Zube the head waiter . He offered us omelettes every morning.
The location is perfect . We walked into the centre of kyrenia but you could hop on a bus. One day we got caught in rain and the bus driver took us right to the hotel door!
The hotel is so quiet set in lovely gardens well maintained.
In the evening there was a hot olive log fire in the lounge with comfy seats in front of it.
Bar prices were reasonable .i liked a brandy sour which was 8 Turkish lira cheaper than other bars. Local beer was also very good at 5tl for a half litre.
We would certainly return . It should be a four star hotel .

Room Tip: Room 308 had a balcony overlooking mountains and a sunny aspect or 314

Excellent, friendly and good value

This was our third visit to North Cyprus. Our previous 2 stays were at some big, expensive hotels. Our holidays were nice but all seemed overpriced and full of rich gamblers rushing in out to their Casinos.

This time we have decided to use a more relaxed, friendlier and reasonably priced Hotel in a better part of Kyrenia. We have just spent 2 weeks in this very nice hotel in December 2013. We found the staff and the management spoke perfect English, were extremely polite and willing to help whenever asked. The public areas and our room were perfectly adequate and comfortable. Now and again small maintenance problems occurred but they were fixed immediately. The Hotel was full but all the staff was attentive and worked hard to keep all of us happy.

We are surprised to read some of guest’s complaint about the room being cold. We had centrally heated room and hot air condition with plenty blankets and duvets. The room was very very comfortable cosy and warm.

The breakfast which was a very rich buffet (varied with the usual cereals, cold meats and cheeses, salads, fried and boiled eggs, fruits lovely jams and honey and some very nice bread , fruit juices, tea and coffee) was served between 8 – 10 am.However,we were never hurried and were served until we finished and were ready to leave. All in all the breakfast was very enjoyable and very relaxed

We ate in the restaurant many nights. It was very good both with the choices on offer and the quality of the food

We are surprised to see some reviews saying some negative comments. The room, breakfast, staff and the Hotel in general was very very good.

Overall this was an excellent choice of hotel and we would definitely recommend this to any one wanting to stay in a nice part of Kyrenia without any Casino/Gambling customer noises.

We stayed for 3 weeks over the xmas and new year period and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had booked 3 rooms for my husband and I and my teenage son and mother. Hubbie and I stayed in the new block in room 412 which overlooks the pool and it was perfectly fine. Sheets and towels changed daily and a good clean as well. The showerhead in the bathroom was a problem a couple of times but one call to reception and it was fixed within minutes. My son and mother had garden rooms, one with a small terrace to the front and the other with a larger terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens and the mountains. Upon arrival both rooms were a little cold but after putting the aircon/heater on for a while everthing was fine. Again, both these rooms were cleaned and sheets and towels replaced on a daily basis. We were on half board for 2 weeks and the food was okay although my son ate from the a la carte menu several times. We received a discount for this so that was very good. The a la carte menu is very good and has european and turkish meals available and the standard is much higher than that of the half board menu which is to be expected. We enjoyed the xmas day meal although as previously stated the veg was a bit undercooked but not a problem. If you go away for xmas then I don't think you can expect to have perfect mince pies and puds as this is a muslim country and the items offered are their interpretation of these items. If things like this are important to you then I think a stay in the UK is probably the best option. My husband had raging toothache on xmas eve and after speaking to Ram the owner he then rang a dentist and a taxi to take us there. The dentist was brilliant and I can't thank Ram enough for his help and guidance. All the staff at the Ship are friendly and approachable and do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. A special mention to Zube (Head Waiter) and Ramazan who went out of their way to be as helpful and kind as always. We love staying at the Ship and will continue to do so as it is so handy for the Lemarr Supermarket up the road and also the Wine shop opposite which is very good. The dolmus stops just in front of the Ship and it only takes minutes to get into town for a very small payment. Can't wait to return for yet another holiday (lost count how many times I have been there now !!!!)

Room Tip: If you want a mountain view pick south facing rooms in the new block. Rooms in the hotel itself are...

We have just returned from a pleasant week stay at the Ship Inn. I had contacted the hotel prior to going to explain that I am disabled ans querying the suitability, I need not have worried at all, there were no limitations as to where I could access. We stayed in room 312, which had a nice small balcony on the ground floor. What is called a garden room. The choice of food could have been a bit better but what there was was nicely presented and there is an a la carte menu if you want to upgrade your meal.
Apart from the hotel staff being very cheerful and helpful, we used the dolbus (local mini-buses) to get around and all of the drivers were very pleasant even with having to get my disability scooter on and off where ever we wanted.
All in all we had a nice stay with sun every day and temperatures around the 20 mark

Room Tip: Room 312, a garden room is nice with a nice outlook towards the mountains and the back.

Room given on arrival dull, stuffy, cold and in need of update. Showers next morning flooded the bathroom. Turned out they new that silicon around bath was leaking but put us in the room anyway as they did not have another one (maybe they should not have sold it to us). Were moved to another room after waiting for it to be ready for 2 hours (and would have waited longer if we had not asked). There was no apology at all. New room was ok, but mattress was not very comfortable and shower temperature variable.
Breakfast was ok, but on New Years morning was removed from under our noses by 10am as on any other day (would have been nice to have it a little more relaxed on that day).
Reason for two stars rather than one is the indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, which was really nice. Also outside facilities are attractive - shame about the rest. Not recommended.
