“Relaxing Stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

Stayed at this hotel for a week in early February 2013. After a slightly shakey start, we had a lovely room on 6th Floor overlooking the pool and sea. The room was clean and of a reasonable size with a very private balcony. The bathroom was a bit tired but it all worked. The food was fresh and plentiful. Although it was all inclusive, we ate out ocassionally. We hired a car from the airport which is a must really as the hotel is a bit isolated. Although a 40 minute drive the hotel was easy to find even in the dark. We enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool, playing tennis, lounging in the sun reading and exploring the local area including Famagusta, Karpaz Peninsula, Nicosia and other destinations nearby. It was a great place for relaxing at a very very reasonable price. Suresh on Reception was extremely hardworking, very pleasant and helpful. Agreed its not a 5* hotel but I wasn't expecting it to be. What it is - its very good value for money.

Room Tip: If you don't like your room, just ask and they will change it.

We choose this hotel because it was all inclusive, and on reflection should have gone to kyrenia half board instead. The hotel is lovely with a very good looking entrance and nice rooms, the food is what you expect from all ins very samey but of a good standard. You will need a car to get out and about as its in the middle of nowhere and if you seek more than a retirement home I suggest you avoid it. All in all good value for the price but if you value a bit of life I suggest you go elsewhere.

The hotel commands the Gamimagusa/Famagusta Bay. With the sea behind and the fertile plain bounded by the Besparmak mountain range to the front, the hotel is well located for tours as well as day-long beach and 'deck' pleasures.
The casino, the bars and the nightclub should all be bouncing during the summer season; even in the low season when we were there (February) there was lots to fill our week ... I got back on the gym machines, sauna-ed, Turkish bathed and we used all the 'beauty' facilities.

Our package with Mercury Direct and Pegasus Airlines flew us through Turkey, so we (fleetingly) saw Istambul and the snow-covered mountains of Turkey. All transfers were seamlessly efficient with no delays and check-in/check-out was stress-free with good English spoken in Reception ... even an Arsenal-supporting 'front-desk'!
Rooms were big, airy and clean, with the warm-weather air-con switched on for probably the first time in the year. Room service was excellent with free drinks in the room on arrival, and regular free bottled water thereafter. The free bars supplied lager beer, cocktails and wines on demand ... an even greater temptation than the casino!

Consider the organised tours or hire a car; the car hire charge is remarkably cheap and they drive on the left. You will see 'old-Cyprus' in every little village - seek out the beauty, and enjoy the mountains and coasts as well as the sunbeds.
We were struck by the friendship of the people we met, both within the hotel and across the country.
For the price we paid it would be hard to find a better experience.

Room Tip: Sun all day on the south side (facing Gamimagusa/Famagusta) allows tanning on the room balcony

We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel for a really good price: take 5* with a pinch of salt but the service was first class. Staff were helpful and attentive, rooms are basic but we had clean linen and towels every day. The food was really good with plenty of variety. We hired a car for £70 for the week and saw most of Northern Cyprus (pick the car up from the airport it's cheaper hotel was easy to find even in the dark ) .Weather was good when we were there even swam in the sea bit cold though. Turkish Cypriots are lovely people would certainly go back for a winter holiday.

Room Tip: Soth facing sun all day

Not long back from the holiday. We went as a party of 4.(Two couples) Flights with Pegasas were fine although delayed because of snow in Istanbul. Unfortunately weather was cool (verging on cold for 4 x days) So was the hotel! Never a 5 star hotel! When you enter the foyer you think-Wow, but that,s where it stops. Our room on the 4th floor was very worn and tatty. We complained to our rep,'Umit' who managed to convince the hotel give us a different room. This room was fine and on floor 7. Dining room was like a canteen. No waiter service here and what staff were there were in dire need of some training. Food was okay. Good location for hotel albeit a little isolated. A hire car can only be recommended to give a little freedom. We were out of season so the good sized indoor pool was a plus. Again, because we were out of season not all amenities were available as advertised. Only one bar open, no snack bar. No daytime activities and the evening entertainment was a duo. (a female singer and a pianist ) Talented, but please, not every night! Staff were friendly, although thin on the ground. Must mention the guest relations lady, 'Yasemin'. Very nice, very helpful. A great asset to the hotel. Destined to go far, I'm sure. Never mind pro's and cons. Overall the holiday and all that goes with the fully inclusive package was certainly value for money.

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better the Quality. Make sure you get the sunny side(south facing)

Just got back from good holiday at hotel. It is good value for money, but certainly not 5*.
Cons:- Dining room more akin to canteen than 5*. Huge, with tables set in rows, not laid. Food acceptable but little variation, and nothing special, no table service at all. All inclusive wine, can only say I've had worse, but not much. As winter, I assume, only one eating place and one bar open, so most of advertised amenities not available.
Hotel a bit isolated, so need car/taxi, to get out, Shuttle to Farmagusta runs only twice a day and is often oversubscribed. Better we found to share taxi in.
Pros:- Rooms not 5* but clean and comfortable and all have sea view. Great setting on coast and pools in and outdoor very good, fitness centre etc. of good standard.
Staff helpful and friendly, though cleaning of less obvious areas (stairways etc) a bit lacking.
We went on all inclusive week, flying with Turkish Airways via Istambul. Flights, good and on time, though a bit of a long way round to get to Cyprus!
All round excellent value for an all inclusive week and enjoyed a lot. Not sure I'd want longer at this location, out of season. However do not think of this as 5* as per UK standards.

Room Tip: Rooms on south side get sun all day, rooms on other side get no sun.

Our flights with Turkish Airlines both ways were excellent. Food on all flights were very good in comparison to other airlines.

Hotel very pleasant, room very comfortable but air con unit did not work. Only disappointed with the grounds which needed a lot of attention. Lacking of plants and flowers which we find surprising in comparison to hotels in Tunisia. Food excellent and very tasty. Plenty of drinks to be had as we went all inclusive.

Was a bit disappointed with the Xmas night celebrations but was not surprised as they do not celebrate Xmas. The New Year's evening celebrations and meal was not organised in a very professional manner. Meal was not up to expectations, no fireworks to welcome in the new year.

Room Tip: Need a room with A/C unit working.
