You can't fault this hotel on its standards in terms of the physical environment inside the hotel itself. Its location however is strange, pushing up against the crumbling edifices and rusting cranes of Varosha. Our room was over the Casino entrance and there was quite a bit of noise disturbance inthe late evening. Its obviously aspiring to be a top class hotel, staff were often efficient but sometimes not very friendly. Food was very good but prices were much higher than the other hotels we stayed in.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing to stay at Arkin Palm Beach hotel.

In terms of our location, our hotel was originally built in the late 1940’s prior to Varosha having been built; the majority of our guest’s find this area intriguing and it also adds to the sereneness of our beach.

We are sorry to hear that you were affected by some noise in the evenings, we would always prefer that a guest inform us of any issues whilst at the hotel so that we can help you with your query and in this instance, depending on availability, move you to a room where you would have been more comfortable.

We feel our prices are reasonable in comparison to similar establishments in Europe / Turkey.

We continuously include our personnel in training programmes in order to maintain and improve on the high standards we set ourselves. We appreciate your feedback and positive comments.

My husband and I have just returned home from this wonderful hotel!
We have had the most peaceful and relaxing week.
The hotel is set on a beautiful sandy beach, and is of a excellent standard.
Staff are very polite and helpful. They genuinely want you to be happy and comfortable in your stay.
The food is cooked to perfection and always well presented and the deserts are to die for!
It is located right next to the forbidden zone, but we did not let it spoil anything.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are a must!

we stayed at the Palm Beach for 10 days April 2014. Lovely hotel attentive waiting staff. The food was excellent, huge variety superbly cooked and presented. A very clean, quiet hotel ideal for relaxing break. Right on the beach with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas good spa with indoor pool.. It is very close to the forbidden zone so a few derelict buildings nearby but this did not spoil out stay. Easy walk to the old city. Senior staff seemed to be making improvements, a lot of "suits" around who didn't speak to guests would be my only negative comment. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Book suite, on higher floor as first floor rooms with sea view are over terrace on the one side of h...

We are due to stay at this hotel again in September 2014, this will be our 3rd time. It is in such a lovely location and the fact the deserted war torn area is next to it helps to maintain the peacefulness of the location. There is not much to do outside the hotel in the immediate area but Famagusta old town is a short walk away and always worth a visit. The hotel is stylish, well maintained and very clean, even the beach is cleaned daily. The food is of a very good standard and is buffet style. On an evening when you are having dinner it would be nice if there was a wine menu on the table, rather than having to ask for it. On our last visit my only negative comment would be about the amount of air freshener that is used in every room (it wasn't on our previous visit). It is far too strong and overpowering and is just not needed. The hotel is by the sea and the natural aromas of the sea air is what should be enjoyed not artificial chemical fragrances. We couldn't use our room for a few hours on arrival until I opened the windows to air the room. Having said that we did speak to Idris Qubtan Guest Relation Executive who was extremely helpful and did ensure that housekeeping staff did not spray our room for the remainder of our stay. Idris and all the staff are very helpful and polite and this goes a long way to ensuring that your stay is very pleasant and you can relax knowing you will be well looked after.
One of the highlights of the hotel is its location and the patio area on an evening is a lovely place to unwind although sometimes extra staff are needed to serve guests.
We are really looking forward to our next visit in September 2014 and I cannot recommend this hotel and its staff highly enough if you are looking for a location that is peaceful, a hotel that is stylish, well maintained, clean and who have staff like Idris who are always happy to help and make your stay relaxed and special.

Room Tip: To make this a special stay you really need a sea view room/suite.

Stayed for 3 nights for a conference so not much time to spend in the hotel during the day but everything was fine except the bed. Although comfortable, was rather small. Food was good and very nicely presented. It is a bit expensive for North Cyprus but it is worth the value.

Hi
Just back from a one week stay here - nothing but praise for the Hotel - lovely friendly staff at reception and in the dining room - nothing was too much trouble for them. Room small but tasteful and very comfy. Sea view lovely and dramatic (we were in 209). Food delicious and varied with a lot of thought into appearance too.
We also had a super time with Rasit Asikoglu a local taxi driver who speaks very good English and knows all about the history of Famagusta - a great man with good sense and a balanced view on events.... well worth getting a trip to the South side with him if you have chance - can see Varosha from an interesting cafe in Dherinia
Thanks!
Mike & Nick

I and my wife are customers of the Palm Beach since 1980 and we experienced, in 24 times, a lot of changes throu these 33 years.
Many different owners and general managers transformed, time to time, this fantastic hotel in a lovely place or in a disappointing hell.
This was the case in 2008-2009 and then we changed destination.
A new owner restructured the building and appointed a new management Team, and then we were back to Palm Beach in 2012 and 2013 for a three weeks-summer vacations.
Lights and shadows, but overall positive choice.
During our stay, we had the opportunity to meet the General Manager, a very professional and young person, who demonstrated to have as top priority the “Customert Care” in his agenda.
He gained our credit and, therefore, we were back to Palm Beach in dec. 2013 to spend the Christmas and New Year Eve vacations.
We like dancing and our expectations were to exploit the entertainments usually delivered in this period in any 5 stars hotel around the world.
Bad luck ! We had some music the night before Christmas and the night of Dec.31st.
But, in addition, the New Year Eve was really a surprise.
The dinner for the hotel customers has been organized in a new restaurant with a nice orchestra and a famous singer, while the usual restaurant-usual buffet service was open to local patrons.
Unfortunately we discovered that the new restaurant was reserved for the customers gambling at the Casino and then, because we were the only customers not playing in the Casino, we were adressed to the usual restaurant.
The entertainment was been very poor, with turkish music only and the food was not different from the other days.
After one our, 10 p.m., we asked to the Service Manager to move to the other restaurant, but the answer was “there are no seats available” (over 400 seats !!!??)
All in all the New Year Eve dinner has been very, very disappointing!
We are really afraid that this was the last vacation in this hotel.
Our reccomendation is the following: don't go to Palm Beach unless you are a gambler, you will be considered a “third class” customer !

Room Tip: Second floor, seafront

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing to stay at Arkin Palm Beach hotel once again, our guest’s feedback is always greatly appreciated and is essential in order for us to continually improve our guest’s experience at our hotel.

The Arkin Palm Beach hotel celebrates Christmas every year bothwith hotel guests and also local guest and as such a special Christmas package for is offered for 2 days during the festive period.

This has proven very popular and we always hold our Gala event on Christmas Eve followed by a special Christmas Day brunch. We provide live music with singer on the gala night and the floor is always open to dancing, on Christmas Day we also have a musician playing the keyboard.

On New Year’s Eve there were two separate events held at the hotel. One event was in our main hotel restaurant and catered for our hotel guest’s and a limited amount of guests from outside the hotel. This included a specially prepared buffet for New Year’s Eve with a completely different menu to other nights as well as a famous local artist.

The second event was organised by the Casino themselves and was a private event, they rented the banquet hall from the hotel and separately booked a singer from Turkey. Entry to the event was by invitation only and was nothing to do with the hotels New Year’s Eve party.

I have spoken to the restaurant service manager and he has said that on New Year’s Eve when you asked if you could move to the Casino organised event he told you that it was full but would find out if they could open a table for you there, he then took you to the banquet hall and showed you where they could seat you but you decided to decline and returned to the main hotel restaurant.

Under no circumstance would we alter our quality of service for any guest, as you will see from the many reviews we have on Trip Advisor this is not mentioned, in fact, the majority of our guests are very pleased with the level of service we deliver to them on a consistent basis.

We hope that this issues would not deter from coming back again in the future and we hope to be able to see you once again at Arkin Palm Beach hotel.
