Owner description: The Postage Stamp Museum (Briefmarkenmuseum) is very popular with most visitors to Liechtenstein, since these small works of art travel the whole world and are in everybody's mailbox daily. Rare stamps from Liechtenstein, historical documents, devices, historical postal service equipment and special exhibits are presented in the museum.

“Amusing and free little museum.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

What better way to commemorate visiting a postage-stamp sized country than a visit to the postage stamp museum? It's small but what else does it need to be? Nice collection of artifacts and a rich history of postage has been churned out by this small nation. Postage is a functional form of independence as well as a moneymaker for the country (i.e. stamps collected but not redeemed for postage). If you collect stamps, check out all the vertical and flat files, there's hundreds of things in the drawers to look at. Worth a visit if there for sure.

“Just as well it's free”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

I'd heard of the museum before visiting do was looking forward to it but in truth there's not much to see. All in a fairly small single room with a divider across it. Part of the room had an exhibition of pictures, some of which were only loosely related to letters. There was also a TV documentary in English about stamp making which was half interesting but only 10 minutes long. In the other half of the room was a history of local stamps, maybe great for niche collectors but for members of the public they're of only very slight interest. If you can spend more than half an hour in this place you're probably easily pleased.

“The best value in Vaduz!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2013

This is free! And interesting. Well done. I am not a stamp collector but the stamps are all ordered by themes so you can look at things of interest to you. There is also some good collections of old postal equipment.

The only thing we found for nothing in Liechstenstein

“A Stamp of Every Occasion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

It was very impressive to learn that not only are there specific stamps for each country, of course, but that there are so many different events! Very colorful and lots of fun!
