“Beautiful location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2012

As all previous reviewers, have mentioned, the location of the hotel in amazing. It sits near the top of a mountain and the views from the balcony are beautiful.

The room was very basic, ridiculously overpriced compared to Europe, but reasonably priced for Liechtenstein. The bathroom was clean, albeit a bit small. It had a hair dryer, but no shower gel, shampoo or shower caps.

Breakfast was excellent on our first morning - wonderful selection of cheeses, breads and fruit (this was a Saturday). On Sunday, though, the breakfast room was packed with what seemed to be locals coming for a fancy late breakfast at a "posh" location. There was more food than the previous day - both in terms of quantity and variety, but alas, not of the same quality.

Dinner at the restaurant was great. Try the potato soup with truffel and the venison with cranberry sauce.

The one problem we had was the internet connection. It seemed to live a life of its own - came and went every couple of minutes. My husband's Android phone and laptop were less affected, but getting online from an iPhone/ iPad was a nightmare, their router obviously did not like Apple products. If you need an internet connection, make sure you have an Android or Windows device.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view over the valley

I stayed here for 1 night in September and was very pleasantly surprised. For starters, great location. It sits on the side of the mountain overlooking the whole picturesque valley and is only a 10 minute drive from downtown Vaduz. The hotel has access to a covered parking garage which is a nice perk if you’re driving. The hotel itself is outdated but still charming. Even more charming is the staff—who are helpful, friendly, and informative. We had electrical plug problems and they had not problem lending us an adaptor for the duration of our stay. The rooms are spacious and probably could use a renovation, but are adequate. Our bathroom was large, the living space was much larger than most European hotels, WiFi wasn't an issue, and the TV was really tiny and located in an awkward place in the room.

This is the place for you if you’re looking for a hotel with a good location, at a reasonable price, and a fantastic staff. You won’t get a lot of perks or modern décor, but you will get a safe and pleasant nights rest.

The hotel is located in the center of the small village and easy to find. But at first you have to drive up to the hill on quite narrow roads.
The check in was no problem and the staff very freindly.
Our room was spacious but the furniture looked a little bit older, but not used. Unfortnatly they forgot to turn the heating on so it was quite cold when we entered the room. Our room was towards the valley so we had a fantastic view from the hill.
The restaurant was very good. Manily the serve game which tried the first time. The dessert was very special, a kind of pancakes with fruites which was freshly made and flambeed at our table.

Nice little hotel high up in the mountains in Triesenberg near Vaduz. Not too difficult to find.
Basic room, no frills but fine for a night or two. Internet access was good.
Good location, parking underneath for our car, small grocery next door and a post office. Is across from a church that really liked to ring their church bells!
Staff were friendly. Had breakfast which was a very simple buffet but just fine.

we stayed here the night before the Liechtenstein alpine marathon as there is a bus stop just outside the door. we arrived quite late (having gone to Vaduz for dinner) but drank some tea in the retaurant - beautiful views. the management seemed quite friendly although they were unable to fix the wifi which was intermittent at best. We had booked a room to overlook the court yard and we knew we would not be there long enough to avail of the views anyway - this was very spacious with a gigantic quality shower. Unfortunately i guess we were beside the stairs so it was very noisy - despite me asking for a quiet room. The beds were comfortable although with no air conditioning it was a little stuffy. Not a hotel I would rush back to, but a very convenient point for exploring the surrounding area.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view if you will be there during daylight hours - although expect to pay more

When visiting Liechtenstein again, I will prefer to stay here than down in Vaduz. This is Triesenberg, half way up the mountain, so the views are captivating. Typical room for mountain hotels, noy luxury but spacious. Menus in the hotel restaurant and a good breakfast. 150 CHF was a good price for the area, no charge for the car park or the baby cot.
