I stayed for one night in the Hotel Schatzmann. I stayed in the main building and the room was a decent size and a nice balcony but it was very old fashioned. The walls between rooms were particularly thin and I could hear the shower and toilet in the next room very clearly. I expect the new building rooms are more modern. I was expecting more from the hotel as the restaurant has a michelin star. There was a good selection at breakfast and the prices are reasonable.

Room Tip: Stay in one of the newer rooms.

Ok the key to this review is that there are not many options in Vaduz of were to stay...considering that this is one is a good option. It is definitively not a four star as advertised but let s say it is around a three star. The rooms are a little bit old and the bathroom had some very large water stains but on the bright side breakfast was good and the room had a wonderful balcony where I could get some air and relax. Service was excellent as I even forgot my mobile charger and they sent to it me by post and got it home even before I was back. Location is very good and you have a Mc Donalds just a few steps away s you can get fast food until late hours.

Room Tip: Ask fr a room with a balcony

My family and I stayed in this hotel for Pfingsten. Not so much happenings in Vaduz during that time. Hotel Schatzmann is located at Triesen which is just few minutes drive from vaduz. The location is very easy to find..just beside Mc Donald's. They gave us a very spacious room (on the 2nd floor). Road noise wasn't a problem for us since we our room is located at the hotel annex. Free-wifi in the room, breakfast is included in our room rate and free parking. Our hotel room got a lovely view of the mountains. There is no tea and coffee in the room. Since we have a baby, we needed a kettle. So I asked in the reception and they provided it for us.
Liechtenstein is a very small country and you can just explore it for a day. You may also want to take the opportunity to go to the nearby countries (Austria and Switzerland). We drove to Innsbruck in Austria for only 2 hrs from Triesen and St. Gallen, Switzerland for half an hour. But nothing special in St. Gallen.
We had a lovely stay in this hotel and I should say that they really looked after us.

I came to Liechtenstein to watch an international football match. I chose to stay at Hotel Schatzmann as cheaper establishments were fully booked.

Plus points:

1) Nice, spacious room
2) Free wifi in room
3) Free use of internet-connected computer in lobby
4) Nearby McDonalds for late night food
5) Quiet room (in the new annexe building)
6) Free parking available

Negative points:

1) Extremely expensive for what you get
2) About 3miles walk to Vaduz
3) No breakfast included in the room rate
4) Unstaffed reception, which meant that you had to call and request assistance

From what I saw, there is very little reason to visit Liechtenstein. If you want to visit Liechtenstein, it would be worth considering staying in nearby Sargans in Switzerland and taking a day trip by bus into Liechtenstein.

This hotel stands on the main road through Liechtenstein. It's not a highway, but a 50km local road with very little traffic in the evening. While road noise could possibly be an issue for light sleepers in the main building of the hotel-restaurant, it is no issue at all in the new hotel annex that has been constructed behind the main building. A covered walkway along the car park connects both buildings, and is one of the elements that gives this hotel the atmosphere of a (good quality) roadside motel in the USA.

The rooms are clean, nicely decorated, with a slightly dated bathroom, and no aircon. The rooms have huge windows which can either open completely or tilt to let in fresh and cool air. Blinds and curtains keep out the daylight a bit, but are not completely dark. Breakfast in the main building of the hotel was fine, but apart from scrambled eggs was not remarkable in any way and certainly has nothing to do with he Michelin star restaurant that apparently uses the same facility on some evenings.

The car park is free, and there is a bus stop nearby the hotel which makes it very easy to explore Liechtenstein in any way you like. The free wifi of the hotel was not very stable, but the next door McDonalds had an excellent and free connection (but it requires you to get over to there as the signal is too weak to carry to the hotel). Would stay here again on my next trip to Liechtenstein, but it might be quite a while until that next trip takes place.

As it was our 20th wedding anniversary we were looking for something a little special. We booked the honeymoon suite and dinner in the michelin star restaurant. We were not disppointed in any way. The suite was lovely, if a little dated colour-wise. The preparations really made it. The bed was strewn with rose petals, there were lots candles in the bathroom and the bedroom for our use. The bathroom was fabulous with a large bath, a separate large shower, and double basins. Just wish we could have turned the heat down a little.

The restaurant was superb; the style, the food and the service excellent.
