To put it down in one line, We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Turna. The room was great in size and functionality. 2 Bedrooms, 2 showers, 2 big flat TVs. Breakfast was pleasent, although scrambled egs would have been nice but were missing ....

Stayed: February 2014, traveled with family

Recently stayed at this hotel for a second time and it is just ideal for a quiet week in the mountains.

The family which runs it seem to take great pride in the presentation of the rooms and in their service in the restaurant. Don't expect anything too modern or showy - this is Alpine territory with plenty of wood and warm fires - but you can expect the sort of service that hotel chains can't/won't provide.

The food is excellent, from hearty soups to traditional Swiss/Liechtensteiner meals such as röstis and meat dishes. The wine list is pretty good as well, including several local wines.

I've only visited in summer, for hiking holidays, so can't comment on its suitability for skiing trips (though it is right next to the chairlift) but I imagine it'd be just as welcoming.

The half-board option is pretty good value, certainly for the area, whilst the rooms are nicely furnished.

There's a small pool downstairs, which was a bit cold, though there's a sauna and a steam room, along with a kid's playroom. If you have children, there are better hotels in Malbun though, with more to do and a more family-focussed atmosphere.

One downside is that the hotel is built on several floors, so if you have limited mobility then you should look elsewhere as there isn't a lift.

Room Tip: Balconies overlooking the ski lift give the best views.

I was impressed by the food - whatever we ordered was just perfect! In October they served dishes from wild meet and mushrooms - indeed very tasty!
The hotel room was clean, not so big but comfortable enough.

It a nice hotel. Nothing out of the ordinary. It is clean and well run.

The staff is very helpful and provide excellent service.

The food is very good but pricey compared to other counties.

Be aware when driving to this hotel not to take the old road and rely on the GPS. You must take the wide road which is very safe. Unfortunately, we relied on the GPS and end up, against the traffic driving one way, for over 10 km on a very narrow road The hostess at the hotel that is a common mistake if you rely on the GPS..

Room Tip: Last floor, corner room with a balcony

Hotel Turna is located next to the Malbun-Sareis chairlift in very beautiful Alpine setting (weather during our stay was unfortunately quite rainy and misty). The rooms are very clean, although quite basic. Wifi is included in the room price and works ok. Lots of stairs to climb to the rooms in the upper floors.
The restaurant serves local specialities, the restaurant staff was friendly but with quite lots of guests we had to wait quite long to be served.

Stayed here with my partner over the bank holiday weekend (3 nights) and we both greatly enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

We were expecting to tackle some of the alpine hikes close to the hotel but it was shin deep in snow and too dangerous (so tried a few others) which meant that Malbun was pretty deserted and the hotel itself probably only had 2/3 other occupants during our stay.

That said we were made to feel very welcome..given (upgraded I guess) a family room..slightly unessary but appreciated on arrival and room itself was very well maintained...although no English TV channels if important to some.

We took advantage of the pool/sauna area a few times and again very well maintained and wouldn't be out of place in a 5 star resort place.

Owner/Manager was very welcoming (went and found gloves for us given the weather for our hikes) and also was Head Chef in what was a nice resturant (as it was low season there was an absence of other spots to try but luckily this wasn't a problem) with a wide selection food.

Daughter is the waitress and the English speaker and again very friendly (checking if we wanted to use spa later in evening as will turn on etc).

All in all was very impressed with the hospitality and would happily return when the weather gets a bit better higher up.

My partner and I travelled through Europe and wanted to stay in Liechenstein on our way back from Italy to the UK. We arrived at the Hotel Turna on a dark, wet and windy evening last October to a very friendly welcome.
Despite being quite late on our arrival, they were happy to accommodate us in the restaurant and we enjoyed a traditional and delicious fondue for two.
As we were due to leave the following morning, they kept the swimming pool and spa area open for us way past the normal 22:00. We had the beautiful swimming pool and sauna to ourselves and it was lovely.
After a warm and extremely comfortable nights sleep, we woke to a big surprise! the first snow of the season! Having travelled from Italy in our summer clothes, this was certainly not what we expected but the hotel staff were so helpful in keeping us updated as to when it was safe to leave.
Needless to say, we were sad to go and I hope one day we will visit again.
Whilst old fashioned, the hotel and room were so comfortable and homely. I never felt out of place or in the way, despite my lack of German!
Thank you Hotel Turna, see you again!
