We wanted to unwind on this holiday after a very busy year. My husband and three year old daughter travelled with me and we booked into this apartment in the small algarve town of Fuzeta for one week. The apartment was in located in a quiet area on the outskirts of town, but within easy walking distance of shops, restuarants and the beach. It was perfectly quiet at night and we slept like lambs, as the area is very much low-rise and the other residents were extremely considerate. The quality of the buildings also helped as the sound-proofing was so good, it was impossble to hear noise from any adjoining apartments. The weather was extremely hot, so we couldn't do a lot without air conditioning. Luckily, the apartment catered for this and we had a stay as comfortable as in a top hotel. There was a pool (two, actually), which was really well-managed and cool, clean and refreshing. The town of fuzeta is really inexpensive to eat out or self-cater and even the water taxis to take you out to the beach was very affordable (10 euros, or so, for a family or three). I really recommend this apartment and the town itself for one of the most relaxing breaks that we have ever had. I will definitely book this again and I would like to thank the owners for being so easy and helpful -including return of the deposit bond which was efficient and hassle-free.
We really loved this apartment. It is very very well equipped and the instructions and communication were flawless. Everything is new and works well. There is a lovely garden which is shady in the morning. There is level access to the apartment so great for a buggy. The pool is only 30 seconds away and was empty most of the time.
Fuzeta is a little gem. It's not too touristy so the people are incredibly friendly and its very cheap. There are some lovely seafood restaurants - particularly Cafe Corvo which is wonderful. There is a 5 minute ferry ride to an amazing beach but its about a 10 minute walk to get to the ferry from the apartment. There is also a beach in the town, about a 10 minute walk from apartment, but it's not as pretty as the ocean beach.
The apartment is lovely - not only clean and comfy but also had all the added extra's you could think of!
The garden at the back felt very safe for our 6 year old and it was nice to be able to sit somewhere private to eat meals. The bathrooms are clean and beds comfy. The kitchen was well stocked not just with cooking equipment but also with all the bits you wouldn't want to buy just for a week (such as oil, spices etc...) The living room was comfy and there are lots of DVD's to watch - great when our son was tired.
The pool was nice, although in April was quite cold - my son and husband still got in though! The upper terrace is a real sun trap so even at Easter time we were sitting out on an afternoon.
Fuzeta is not touristy at all - especially in April, and sitting out in a cafe in the main village square is well recommended, the atmosphere is lovely. There are some great restaurants on the front with seafood bbq's...although be aware meals take a long time to prepare. There is a strip of grass in front of the restaurant so we took a football with us the second time we went and took it in turns to play with him.
The train station is a 5 minute walk from the apartment and runs right along the coast. We found it really easy to hop on the train and didn't feel we needed a car because of this.
We had a couple of rainy mornings - we spent one in Faro (the Science museum is great for kids, really cheap and takes an hour or two). The second we spent in the shopping center in Tavira - this great especially for young kids (7 and under) as there are mini softplay and games areas to keep the occupied.
Be aware: our taxi from the airport couldn't find the apartment complex as it's so new. The manager came to our rescue! There are several taxi companies who do know where it is...it's worth getting the phone number of one and pre booking before you leave for your stay here.

lovely condo. The host has thought of everything. Felt safe. Kids loved the pool. Loved Fuzeta. It is a small fishing village which gives you a taste of Portugal that is not effected by tourists. Jane the property manager was greeting us the minute we pulled in. It was great they had WIFI

We had a marvellous short break here. Apartment is exactly as described if not better. Could not have asked for more and will definitely return. Would score higher than 5 if it were possible.

The five of us (3 older children) stayed in Hilary's apartment in August and had an absolutely wonderful stay. We can only endorse all the previous excellent reviews. The apartment was clean, very well equipped and very well presented, Hilary has actually thought of everything. Jane was excellent, arranging taxis to and from the airport, and greeting us when we arrived making us feel very welcome. Jane gave us a tour of the apartment and also some useful knowledge on where the local amenities were and the about surrounding areas. Fuzeta was a lovely unspoiled fishing village with some lovely restaurants and the island beach is well worth a visit. We are definitely planning a revisit sometime soon.

We have never stayed in such a spacious, well stocked and spotless apartment! It has everything you need and more. The private garden at the rear is perfect for BBQs, and for our 2 year old to run around. We ate outside most evenings.
Jane was extremely helpful on arrival and showed us where everything was and how it worked.
The pools are good although not heated so brace yourself when getting in! You get used to it. It may be warmer later in the year.
Fuzeta is a 10 min walk away and is a nice little town. The island beach is excellent and easily reached by the frequent and inexpensive boat trips.
We hired a car which I would recommend as it meant some of the other nice beaches down the coast were easy to get to. Tavira is a great town to visit and worth a ride on the road train to get your bearings. Faro too is only half an hour in the car and well worth a day of your hol.
Olhao has market day on a Sat. So much food!
All in all an excellent holiday, made all the more enjoyable by the splendid apartment........and the glorious unbroken sunshine helped!
