“Wonderful Hotel...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2011

We just got back from a one night stay at this great hotel. We were warmly welcomed by Gwendoline, who was a wonderful hostess and great with the children. We were traveling with our two small children (4 and 18mo) and the room had a travel crib and fold out bed ready for us with chocolates on the pillow.
The suite was clean, well furnished and stylish with an artist themed in every suite. It had a laptop in the room to use with free wi-fi which was cool. The staff was very accommodating and were at our beckon call if needed.
Parking was very cool in the underground automated garage, one of only three in Europe, very cool. The proximity of the hotel to the old town sites cannot be beat.
Breakfast was great with the standard continental fare as well as made to order eggs and bacon or sausage. They had wonderful yogurt, fresh jams and very tasty cheeses and croissants as well. They were always offering a coffee, cool drink or snack whenever you walked by the bar, nice.
Our negatives: no air conditioning in the room and the noise. We stayed on a Saturday night and there is a British bar right across the street that didn't close until three. With the music and outdoor patrons it was very loud. Earplugs were already in the room (bad sign) but not much use when you have a baby. None of us slept well with the heat and noise. So if traveling with children avoid weekends. If not traveling with children utilize the earplugs.
Overall:I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends but would just say to avoid weekends unless you can sleep with earplugs or plan to join in the bar scene.

Room Tip: We were in Ste. #21 located in the front of the hotel. Great view of Dukes palace.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. This is a very modern and elegant hotel. While the exterior seems like a coνventional building, the interior is absolutely modern. The beautiful architectural touches give all the rooms a pleasant and modern look. The location is ideal, just 2 minutes walk from the old town centre. Our room was facing the main street but the double glasses in the windows provided an adequate sound insulation (though we didn't spend a weekend there where the noise from the near bars might be a problem). The hotel staff was excellent, everyone was willing, helpful and with a smile. The rooms were very clean, the bath was good, but there were neither a minibar nor a safebox which was very strange for such a hotel (maybe they didn't fit with the whole internal decoration of the rooms, from an architectural point of view).
But, what spoiled my whole impression was the almost absence of a breakfast. The breakfast was served in the bar (ground floor) and the breakfast ..."buffet" contained only fruits, breads, cereals, jams and some neutral in taste croissants. Nothing warm (eggs, sausages etc), no cheeses, no ham, not even yoghurts. Cheeses, ham and eggs were given ONLY by order (and when we tried it there was only one cheap type of cheese and ham). When you have to pay more than 200 euros per night for a room, I find it UNACCEPTABLE and shame for such a 4 star hotel to offer this kind of inadequate and poor breakfast to its clients.
The hotel is nice but, if you choose it for your stay, make sure you will not pay for a breakfast.

The staff is wonderful. The hotel is delightful. The food is wonderful. Walk 200 meters to the UNESCO city walls. Walk less than 5 minutes in the other direction to the main square. Wonderful!

Be sure to see the car park... It is right out of a James Bond movie.

This is a delightful and perfectly located hotel. It sits in the heart of the original town, only yards from the main squares of the Old Town. The hotel itself is supposedly 18th century but the lobby looks much older. Our suite was clean and beautifully refurbished. Looking at the fire escape plan, it seems all the suites are two rooms and we managed to fit a family of four in ours. For a couple it would have been luxuriously spacious. Other highlights include breakfast, served in the bar and a combination of cold and hot buffet and the friendly staff. The car park cost 21 euros at the time of our stay but worth it for the experience of seeing your car whisked away into the automated parking system and walking through a rock hewn tunnel back towards the hotel. Niggles: the toilet roll holder was broken but frankly that was hardly a problem. As with other reviewers, we found noise a challenge, but if you want to stay in a city centre, that's the price you pay. For us it was more the dustmen and street cleaners at 5 am than the bars at 1 am. Don't let that put you off - bring earplugs and relish being in the heart of one of the most exquisite capital cities in Europe.

I stayed at this hotel for one night only on business and was very pleasantly surprised. It makes a nice change from staying at a non-descript corporate chain as the rooms were beautifully and thoughtfully decorated which made you feel instantly relaxed. One small suggestion to the hotel would be to add lights above the bathroom mirror - a must for anyone putting on make-up! The rooms were spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable with beautiful linens and wonderfully soft pillows. My only main concern is the man on reception could do with presenting himself in a way that matches and befits the clean and immaculately presented accommodation. Even though I was on the first floor, I wasn't troubled by any traffic noise but I did keep the windows closed. Without air-con in this hotel, I would image in the height of summer, this wouldn't be possible so noise could be an issue. The breakfast was perfect - wonderful fresh fruit, bread, cereal, preserves, juice and the additional choice of small hot plate of eggs and bacon. The location of the hotel was great and after staying at the Hotel Le Royal on a previous trip, the Parc Beaux-Arts wins hands down. I would most definitely return.

Last week I stayed at the Parc Beaux-Arts for the third time; I really love this hotel. I have been selfishly putting off writing a review because the hotel only has 10 rooms and is often fully booked, so I wanted to keep it a secret! It is a small hotel in the old part of the city, situated beside the National Museum and a short walk to the Casemates and along a street with several restaurants and cafes. I have been in two rooms now - suite 13 and suite 30, and both were lovely - high ceilings, hard wood floors, great beds, original paintings on the walls, large windows (which open), a proper sitting area for reading. The hotel also hosts a small bistro on the ground floor, which offers decent food. The atmosphere of the hotel is low key and the staff have been very helpful and gracious. The downsides to the hotel are a certain amount of noise at night because of street life outside. Suite 30 has a bathtub but no proper shower, which I would have preferred. You enter by the side door and there is a small office down some stairs to the right - if no one if there you must go into the bistro and ask for the manager. There is also a short narrow flight of stairs to navigate to get to the elevators, I am not sure how someone with mobility issues might manage, that is a question for management. I'll be back in Luxembourg in July for another business trip and this hotel actually makes me look forward to the trip!

Today as 03:25 am in the morning (after knocking the doors ringing bells yelling shouting desperately calling the hotels numbers a thousand times for approximately one our we finally managed to wake up the sleeping guy he opened the "locked" door and then could manage to "enter" the hotel . (Ther is no other way, no one notified us before, bla bla)

This is not a hostel, or family owned pension in africa, this is a hotel in the very heart of luxembourg which charges app.200 euros per night!!. But believe it or not this hotel is run by only 2-3 persons. Big rooms, clean, etc. etc. sounds good but only when you find someone who serves you or let's say opens the locked door. This is by far the stupiest experince I have ever had .
