A good and big cinema complex which also allows you to order your tickets online in advance - great if you want to beat the lines at the cash desks. Always plenty of room and a good variety of films to watch. Parking is at Auchan next door which is fine. Only gripe would be the terrible layout of the concession area to buy drinks and popcorn - designed to create backlogs and frustration.

The Utopolis Cinema complex has been open for a number of years. There are 10 rooms of different sizes, some with 3D.
We are very lucky in Luxembourg as films are shown in their original language so English speakers are well catered for.
However at the time of writing October 2013 many of the seats are in poor condition and need replacing.

The chairs are incredibly comfortable, that was the first thing I noticed when I visited for the first time. The other bonus is that they cater for several languages. They code the screenings of the films with VO (Original Version) VF (French version) and VD (German version) so that you know exactly what you are going to get when you buy your ticket. In the VO screenings, you also get subtitles (usually in French and Dutch).

This leads me to the one irritant with the VO screenings with subtitles: If another language is spoken during the film (say a Russian villain in MI3, or the Albanians in Taken 2), you don't get the english subtitles because they are already providing French and Dutch. This can pose a problem if you can't speed read in either of those and keep up. Of course, it doesn't make you miss the point of the film, but it does get irritating pretty quickly.

In terms of the rest of the cinema: snacks and drinks before hand (upstairs after the ticket booths) are priced with a big mark-up, as they are in most cinemas. Location is ok but not ideal - it's up in Kirchberg meaning it's a 15 minute bus ride from the central station. There's also a BIL ATM, and some self service ticket machines to avoid the queue for tickets.

For food there's a McDonalds, a sushi restaurant (nemo's), a good sized bar which also sells food (coyote), a sports bar, and a reasonable Italian restaurant all inside the same building. On the other side of the road from the cinema, there's also a Vapiano's.

I'm probably too picky, but considering the price they charge for one single ticket, I expect the seatings not to be busted nor squeaking and the rooms not to smell mouldy.
