Spend one night in the Melia Luxembourg and have to say it lived up to our expectations. Rooms are very specious, nicely decorated and beds are comfortable. Design of the overall hotel is on trend. Location wise it might be a bit to far from the city centre if thats what you are coming for. Wifi is included in the room rate which is great! Breakfast is good, but don't sleep in, as it is closing at 10.30 even on the weekend!

The hotel is well located and within walking distance from the city centre. The room we stayed in was very spacious and offered some nice views of the old city. The bed was really big and the room was well equipped. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Wifi was also provided for free, which is not always the case in business-oriented hotels.

On the negative side, there is the gym, which could significantly be improved (none of the running tapes worked properly) and parking. There is a paying parking next to the hotel, but we found the rates way too expensive so opted to park on the street, although we had to walk a bit from the place where we parked till the hotel. However, if you do not come here by car nor plan on an intensive fitting sesión, neither negative sides should put you off from coming to this hotel.

Overall, a very nice stay. I would certainly go back on a business stay or during a week-end trip as the week-end rates are very competitive.

Stayed here for two nights - comfortable rooms and attentive staff. The hotel is situated by the Philharmonie, so easy to reach from the centre or the airport by public transport. A sightseeing bus stops 50 yards from the hotel and we found this a good way to get around. We liked the quiet atmosphere of the surrounding area. Excellent breakfast and service in the hotel's Goya Restaurant Buffet.

I've stayed at the Melia a few times. All in all, a very pleasant stay. The rooms were clean and modern, the bed was comfortable (with a pillow menu - nice!). The location is great, just outside of the center, but an easy walk, and very close to many offices too. My only complaint would be the breakfast, particularly if you are like eggs. They had a fruit selection, cold meats (although no salmon.. ), your basic bread & cereal options, and "live cooking" eggs (eggs made to order). The chef apparently didn't know how, or couldn't be bothered to make the eggs. The poached eggs were with so much vinegar it made me choke, the omelet was more scrambled, and the fried egg was equally sloppy. I tried different egg orders each morning, hoping I would stumble upon ONE egg order that he could make. Not so.. :(
That said, the rest of my stay was fantastic, the staff was great, and the rooms are pretty perfect, so I will be back. I do hope that they hire a chef soon who makes great eggs though.

I visited for a long weekend in July and had a marvellous time. The hotel is a delight, quite modern and fun. I was on "The Level" floor and had a beautiful view. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the restaurant, where I had dinner a couple of times, was really good too. The service throughout the hotel was top notch. I have nothing but compliments to the staff. It is great that the hop on hop off sightseeing bus stops right by the hotel. I used it a couple of days and really enjoyed exploring the city. There is lots to see and do. I look forward to returning and bringing my husband with me next time.

Room Tip: The Level floor is a bit extra but well worth it!

This is a beautiful hotel on the Kirchberg Plateau, where you'll find the Modern Art Museum, the Philarmonic, and European Institutions in near proximity. A beautiful park and some outstanding vistas complete the setting. There is public transport nearby connecting to downtown, and one could walk as well.
The hotel's architecture and its interiors are striking, the rooms are of a decent size and well appointed. Thus why my "average rating"? It's some members of the staff that can help an hotel sink its reputation - this time it was the female receptionist, who when asked for a room with a southern view (ie looking upon the entire old city) demanded 70 Euro extra for the "privilege". This on a weekend in July, with the hotel at least half empty if not more, and myself being a member of Melia's loyalty program.
Well, Luxemburg has more than enough decent hotels, and the Melia chain will not be my first choice for a long time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with southern exposure - but don't hold your breath
