Stunning castle which is set in nice woodlands so has nice surrounding walks. Went on a day where their was a medieval event on so there were many stalls and entertainment including a falconry show.

Wow. It was a hike and glad I made it up the hill. Great views overlooking the area and the chateau was in very fine shape indeed.

Take the chair lift up for the excellent views, then walk across to the castle. Inside is a museum about the history of the castle & surrounding area. Next walk around the castle itself, taking in the views & find out about how it was restored, as it was a ruin for many years.
Afterwards walk down to the nearby medieval town walls, there’s a great view back to the castle & a siege machinery themed children’s playground.

The castle was okay, I personally was not that impressed with the castle itself, I mean the structure and interior, but the view outside was great. The city was very peaceful and the castle is surrounded by so much green that made the castle worth the visit.
