This is the old town part of Torshavn and has bee restored and put to good use partly as small shops and also government buildings. Worth a visit if in Torshavn and will only take around 30 minutes for a leisurely walk around,

We did get to make a brief stop on the way to see puffins. The buildings have grass roofs and are beautiful to look at. The architecture is unique to the islands and in Iceland.
We were able to learn about the Faroe peoples and history. I can't imagine being on the small island all of my life and never leaving. But this is all the inhabitants know

It was a nice stroll here because there is no crowd, so I get the whole area to myself. The buildings here and all over Faroe Islands are something we don't see much elsewhere, so it became more special and of cos, photogenic. Truly enjoyed my time walking in the entire town.

Beautiful buildings and probably the most historic part of the capital. You can even walk by the Prime Minister's office! You'll find a few great spots for photos in here and it is one of the things you should devote 30-60 minutes towards in Torshavn.

We strolled among the homes and buildings along the cobblestone streets enjoying the architecture and brief views of the harbor. The residents obviously cherish their lovely homes. I especially enjoyed the glimpses of their immaculate gardens and entryways. Saw and petted several cats on this quiet Sunday morning. Close to the harbor and fairly easy walk with benches in places to sit and enjoy the view. Several walkways head down to the harbor and pier.
