“Great value for start of a roadtrip in beautiful Charlevoix”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

Booked this auberge for a one night stop-over in late August in scenic Les Eboulements, overlooking the St-Lawrence River and Ile-aux-Coudres, at the beginning of a multi-day relax roadtrip in beautiful Charlevoix region of Eastern Quebec.
Great value for an reasonnable motel price, and with just-enough of the friendly family inn atmosphere without getting into overpriced "cuteness" often seeing in inns and b&b....
Auberge des Aieux is on a gorgeous panoramic location overlooking hilly farmland and the river. American-type breakfast also good value for the price. No more, no less.
One regret: we should have booked for 2 nights to enjoy more the view, the pool and patio !
Until next time !

This was our second time at this hotel and love it. It has fantastic views and spacious relaxed surroundings. There are lots of places to sit and read or talk. Restaurant is very good and staff excellent. Well located and away from noise. Rooms are comfortable and spacious, functional as opposed to charming. We would recommend this hotel strongly.

At about 20 minutes from the Domaine Forget in St-Irénée where we went for a concert, we had a reservation for one night. The cost is very good. We were not too sure what to expect. The place is tucked between rd 362 and the St-Laurence, some 800 feet down. There are several pavilions with motel rooms and there's the first surprise. It looks like this place has been built 60 years ago. We couldn't help but laugh when we entered our room, as the interior style is also typical of the 60's. BUT, after a while we realized that besides the TV almost everything is recent in this room. Everything is very clean, nothing is old or worn out (as it turns out to be too many times in hotel/motels that look like this). Even the walls were newly remade, freshly painted, no scars. The AC system was not one of those in-wall or in-the-window units but a modern, silent, split system.
They have a restaurant, where you can have dinner and breakfast. Same concept, you feel like you're a big old country house, but everything has been remade very nicely, to look ancient but integrating all the modern requirements. The personnel is still from the original family who started the hotel. Their service is excellent!
So at the end this has been a good experience, and we will consider it seriously again for our next journeys in Charlevoix.
Of course those who have some nostalgia of the motels that they slept in when they were young will be more than delighted!

This is a great place to stay if you are interested in touring Baie St Paul, St-Joseph-de-la -Rive,Ile aux Coudres and further up the coast. The accommodations are not luxurious but very comfortable, with great showers and jacuzzi tubs in some of the rooms. We stayed a couple of nights during October - weather and leaves were fabulous which was icing on the cake. Breakfasts were good - generous portions. We did have supper the first night we stayed and while not gourmet by any means, it fit the bill. The auberge is a family-owned business - care shown for the property and the client is evident at every turn.

Room Tip: It is worth booking an upgraded room both for the view and the jacuzzi/shower etc

Auberge de nos Aieux is a hidden gem - not fancy but clean and comfortable with good service. Our room had a jacuzzi tub and great shower. Breakfast was hearty. We opted to have supper at the auberge the evening we arrived and were happy we could after a long day on the road. This was our fourth time staying there - a great spot from which to navigate this terrific part of Quebec.
