“Small Intimate Theatre”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013

The theatre has a small, pleasant, auditorium and an unusually large number of boxes for a theatre of its size. My wife and I have been twice and have greatly enjoyed both evenings, one being flamenco and the other evening being Verdi. A cosy theatre always seems conducive to an enjoyable experience. We would recommend this theatre to anybody and are looking forward to our next visit. Sadly our next visit will not be until autumn as the theatre shuts over Summer due to the heat.

“Need to plan to be here for a concert”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013 via mobile

What a wonderful building. So much history well displayed, costumes great. The number of well known artists who have performed great. Then in to stage area, wonderful , sound quality amazing as we listened to a rehearsal. A must to see

“A step back in time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013

This is a delightful theatre with great acoustics. We visited for an orchestral concert and look forward to more in the future. The inside is how opera theatres used to be, a bit like ROH (London) or Lyceum (Sheffield) but on a smaller scale. Seat prices are reasonable, too.

The only down side is the restricted view from most of the boxes, unless you want to lean on the edge. Well worth a visit, though, and at €30 for the most expensive ticket in the stalls or a box, we'll definitely go again.

“a theatre with history”

We arrived with very little expectation but the information on how and why the theatre still exists was very interesting and we saw the theatre at work. The recorded information was good and made us look closely at specific areas

“A FANTASTIC THEATRE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

Not only is the well preserved theatre worth visiting but there are old costumes on display and also screen shots of actors that had performed there. There is a coffee bar on site. Staff are very friendly
