“Certainly worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2012

During our May holiday in Valletta, we visited the Great Siege of Malta Exhibition. This is another exhibition where, after you pay your entrance fee, you are given a handset to take round with you, and you press the relevant buttons on this at certain points through the course of the exhibits so that you get the history in your chosen language. The exhibits are mostly mannequins dressed in the appropriate attire of the time so it’s all a bit ‘waxworks’ like, but quite interesting and worth a visit.

However, if it’s busy, it can get a little crowded around the information points, and we found that the noise from one section of the exhibition actually drowned out the speech we were trying to listen to at an adjacent information point. If I remember correctly, the exhibition is closed on a Sunday.

“A must for tourists”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012

A tourist in Malta must see this show.
It is like going to the cinema being told in all different languages the old history from 1565 when the Great siege took place. How the Ottomans tried to win over the Knights of St. Johns and little Malta. I always recommend friends arriving to see the show.
The place has also a wonderful view over the Grand Harbour, a small souvenir shop and a cafe serving cold drinks of coffee outside.I am sure you will like it

“Worth a look”

Not a high tech display this. Costumed mannequins act the scene as you listen to commentary on a hand held device.
I must admit to getting a bit bored towards the end.

“Historionic”

Malta is a wonderful place to go... Naxxa is fabulous and the harbours and beaches of Valetta are great... but museams are spectacular... not because they have fantastic buildings and displays, but because of the absolute history inside.

The Knights of St John complex is worth the ferry ride from either Syracue or Catania alone..

“Nice views of the harbour and parts of the city”

The bell is situated in a very panoramic place. Lovely views from there! I expected to read more of the history behind its symbolism there, but I think this is cultural.
