Description: Nenu The Artisan Baker is a meeting place for young and old, locals and foreigners, frequent patrons as well as those desirous of a taste of local authentic cuisine served within an old setting, restored to a pristine and unique look. Undoubtedly, the business venture places major emphasis on the need to promote the historical, cultural and societal importance of the prima donna which prompted the whole idea behind the project, namely... the Maltese bread in its traditional format. Apart from the meeting spots such as the 'Bar' area and the 'Discovery Room' area (primarily aimed at the younger generation), the premises offer an extensive dining coverage spread in many key points such as the 'Courtyard', the 'Attic' and other areas which may easily cater for special occasions and events.

If you dare go through the door , across the scary glass floor n down the glass steps (!) you'll be glad you did. We went on a very busy lunchtime , we chose to wait for a table but it was less than ten minutes .
The restaurant is in a cellar which is beautifully restored but with a strange taste in 1960's junk shop pictures !
Once seated we chose the rustic Maltese style pizza , both were worth the 30 minute wait , it states this on the menu, and we had fresh bread and various dips to keep us going .
The style of pizza is more of a "bake" than an Italian pizza but full of fresh toppings with a unique crust , well worth a try .
Service was fine and we weren't rushed . 2 pizzas n two drinks each cost £26 euros x

A local told us of this restaurant so we went for the Malta experience! Ftiras are large and very filling but also very tasty. A lovely starter is brought first so beware of what you order to follow! The Maltese are very generous with their portions! The fist night we went I was unwell, the staff did not hesitate to order an ambulance, they were extremely attentive and helpful. Two weeks or so later we went back to the restaurant, they recognized us immediately and made us very welcome. The chef showed us around the kitchen oven where the bread and food are baked. The staff are extremely helpful, kind and lovely people. We will definitely return on our next visit.

Overall service has been good.
Ftiras are exceptionally filling. One can share a ftira unless very hungry :)
On the other side main portions are too small and side bread is quite limited while waiting for our food. Though we didnt ask for more.

Extra virgin olive oil is normally found on the table but we had to ask for it.
Prices are slightly expensive for what you get *Referring to main dishes*

Deserts, Traditional Tea / Coffee are just okay.

We will return for ftiras but not for main courses.

Had very high hopes for this restaurant based on previosus reviews, but we were disappointed. One of us found their food almost inedible. Service was efficient, but lacking in the personal touch.
