Church of Saint Paul's Shipwreck

Not the largest church on the island, but lovely and intricate on the inside. It’s tucked away on a side street, which was decorated with banners when we visited in January 2018. The church is undergoing some restoration, but you can still see the fabulousness inside!

St. paul's Shipwreck Church is definitely worth a visit. Yes, it's a bit dark, but restoration work is underway. Let your eyes adjust, and you will be rewarded with a pretty Baroque church with hidden gems from lesser-known artists. Plus, on display is the wrist bone of St. Paul (according to legend). Go earlier morning, and you could have it essentially to yourself (as did we).

There are many churches in Valletta but definitely take the opportunity to visit St Paul’s Shipwreck, from outside you don’t expect to find this amazing interior.

I am not religious by any means but we stumbled across this church in Valletta and wandered in and I must admit I was taken aback at the sheer beauty of the architecture inside this building.
If your in Valletta then go.

Best thing to do is to use your maps on Google and it will give you walking directions, we used this to find sites and shops.
