Like many of the better restaurants in Valletta, this one is tucked away in a fairly quiet area. The interior is well presented with a calm atmosphere and the friendly unassuming service, which all helps with the ambience.
However, none of the above would work for me without first class food and we just could not fault it. Check out the menu on the web-site. It is well balanced with a lot of interest that goes beyond many of the “cloned” menus seen elsewhere in some of the nearby restaurants. (Though to be fair, the city does have a good number of excellent eating places). This one was so impressive, we made a repeat visit, trying much of what they had on offer (there were four in our family group). My personal favourites were the mushroom tart starter and the pork fillet/belly/caramelised onions etc. However, everything we tried was wonderful.
Pretty good value too. Around 155 euros for four three course meals with a bottle of wine and some soft drinks. In my experience, such a high standard can’t be found at that price in the UK.
