I travel alot and this is my first review on tripadvisor and i had to write about this boutique. You enter a very busy cafe' to get your key and you enter a very unique home. I had a room overlooking the cathedral, which was very nice, big and all modern amendities at disposal. Breakfast i had al fresco on tge Cathedral's square that is the luciano cettina cafe'. The breakfast is very good. What i liked so much though is you come in contact with the locals and feel like it is a second home. I really fell in love with this place and will certainly be back.

This very nice Boutique hotel in the center of Valletta has a great potential - wonderfull location, very special rooms nicely decorated, a roof top terrasse, unfortunately not in use currently, but wow how nicely it would be to have breakfast up there. Also if you want to feel near Heaven, the CoCathedral reminds you on proximity to God every quarter of the hour - around the clock! BUT the reception staff, which was at the counter of the Italian restaurant wher you check in, is the most unfriendly person I have ever met. When checking in, I was considering to leave again, and decided - never again to visit this hotel, if he is not removed ! the waitress are very kind, also when showing the room, but this can not compensate for the most unfriendly reception ever experienced. So next time I will check into an other hotel i Valetta, pass Boutique Hotel Luciano and see is he is still in charge. If more a friendly person is behind the counter, I will use the hotel again - despite the quarterly heavenly reminder from the CoChathedral.

Room Tip: All rooms are unique

This is a lovely quirky hotel, lots of old knick knacks everywhere, only downside the twin bedded room we had did not have an outside window so was very hot and stuffy although there was a fan that we used. The breakfast times could be better though, should be round about 7.30 - 10.00 am. The cooked breakfast was good and we had to leave early for the airport on Monday & they cooked up toasted baguettes as breakfast was not being served yet. Valletta is a lovely city & a visit to Victoriosa is a must, get the little yellow ferry boat, lovely trip. Also a day trip on a Sunday to Marsaxlokk is a must, we had a very enjoyable weekend in Valletta although the restaurants shut very early in the evening.

Set in a most wonderful position of Valletta, the Luciano is perfectly placed for the days entertainment, the staff are warm and friendly, the restaurant bar serves amazing food and the outside alfresco dinning is perfect for the balmy Maltese evenings. The inside building is a treasure trove of the past, leaving you desperate to find out more....... Thank you Cinzia, ...... Amanda

Charming place to stay, old style rooms though not luxurious. The girl staff were attentive (especially Michelle who whisked me off to the airport when I got into a fix... Thankyou Michelle!), but the male staff were moody sullen types. Luciano the owner was a real charmer :)
The entrance does not look like a hotel -it's a restaurant, which you have to enter to access a lift which goes upstairs.
Overall a comfortable stay and beautiful decor.
Bear in mind some rooms do not have windows that face outside which means they can get hot and stuffy as you can't ventilate them.
